Nice place to eat Good food and quiet place

Fantastic! We had dinner and tried four of the schiacciatas: high-quality ingredients at a good price. The service was excellent and the restaurant's playlist... Great! 😉

In addition to the very pleasant and warm service, the food is absolutely delicious. The pesto lasagna is simply exceptional!

Just steps from Palazzo Pitti, excellent schiacciata, welcoming atmosphere, top-notch service. I recommend the schiacciata Toscanaccia and the Carro Matto Speciale with Chianina beef tartare :-)

It's a small, very welcoming place where you can also enjoy schiacciate and appetizers for lunch. Everything is very good. The strong point is the very welcoming atmosphere.

The place is great for having cocktails and snacks, the service was very good but the best thing was the Negroni!

Fabulous food, great cocktails and a big suprise from this micro bar and eating establishment. Christian, the young owner, took on the task of this great little place not far from the Ponte Santa Trinita (Bridge). As we walked up from the bridge it was up a street on the left just off the small Piazza Della Passera. We were off to eat at the Piazza but spotted Carro Matto, heard laughter, great 80s music and popped in. It's very small, well equipped and has a couple of tables outside Christian welcomed us and gave us sound advice on what to order. Great English, sound advice. The menu isn't huge. No deserts. Just as well as by the time we are their fabulous pasta dishes we were full up The cocktails and happy hour were a bonus. It was soon full of local people. Christians uncle prepared and sliced meats and food too Such a friendly family concern. We had a lovely couple of hours. Please give this local chap the opportunity to show you a genuine side of Florence. You know my reviews are never biased. This was a big suprise in a small package and excellent prices.

A really nice and authentic bar. The pici carbonara is amazing!

We found Carro Matto by chance, and it was a winning move! The Schiacciata "La Divina" with caramelized onions, fig jam, lard, and gorgonzola is highly recommended.
