Great experience in Florence! The food was delicious, with authentic Italian flavors and excellent quality. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. You can really feel their passion for what they do. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great Italian food and a warm atmosphere!

I was walking around and saw this little restaurant that looked promising. The happy hour special was fantastic and they were very accommodating to me as a non-Italian speaker. It is a gem of a place.

Il Carro Matto is the quintessential Florentine spot we all need! Cristian and the rest of the team are incredibly friendly and professional, the music is great, and the food is amazing! We had a fantastic hen party there, and we'll definitely be back!

Fantastic! We had dinner and tried four of the schiacciatas: high-quality ingredients at a good price. The service was excellent and the restaurant's playlist... Great! 😉

Just steps from Palazzo Pitti, excellent schiacciata, welcoming atmosphere, top-notch service. I recommend the schiacciata Toscanaccia and the Carro Matto Speciale with Chianina beef tartare :-)

It's a small, very welcoming place where you can also enjoy schiacciate and appetizers for lunch. Everything is very good. The strong point is the very welcoming atmosphere.

18/05/2026: I had an excellent steak last night... but beyond the delicious food, I found myself in a familiar atmosphere, at a table with strangers who, through conversation, turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Fast service, super-friendly staff. In short...a true gem in Florence, far from the hyper-tourist hub of the city center, despite being a trattoria very close to the center. Thank you for the wonderful experience you gave me!
