21/03/2025: Very characteristic place with exposed bricks! I was there on a Tuesday in March, it's best to book! Excellent meat! Perfectly matured Fiorentina! Crostini with meat sauce and the others taken as appetizers were also excellent! Delicious side dish artichokes! For 5 people, with a bottle of Rosso di Montalcino, water and desserts, €40 each, top quality/price ratio! The only flaw: finding parking in this area! Arm yourself with patience, and take your time!

07/11/2024: Luckily we spontaneously stopped at this great accommodation today. We didn't receive such a warm welcome during our entire vacation in Italy. We were able to enjoy great wine, fresh bread, cheese and the world's best olive oil for a very, very, very fair price. Absolutely recommended, we will come again.

25/02/2025: Absolutely amazing meal, all locals and definitely not a tourist trap. This is a restaurant that specializes in seafood so don’t bring your kids for chicken fingers! The menu is verbatim, just trust the owner, eat well and splurge on a special someone who can appreciate the quaint and intimate setting or in my case go by yourself as to not waste time on small talk so you can savor every single bite. maybe 15 seats, so get here early. Enjoy!!

11/01/2025: Locale artistico molto molto carino, personale di qualità sempre attenti al rifornimento di acqua e pane caldo, abbiamo preso una tartare davvero delicata, gnudi al cacio e pepe deliziosi, e un baccalà in sughetto di legumi che era speciale. Torta al cioccolato fondente consigliata per dessert. Unica piccola cosa che personalmente ho trovato scomoda é il fatto che i tavoli siano davvero molto vicini, al limite della privacy. Comunque abbiamo mangiato benissimo e in posto particolare, tornerò in estate sperando che ci sia più varietà di pesce, in inverno hanno più piatti di carne

01/04/2025: Entrati per pranzo notiamo subito una patina per terra, il pavimento sembrava lavato con acqua sporca.. A parte questo notiamo l'arredamento senza un minimo gusto e criterio, bianco, celeste, legni scuri, legni chiari, colori a caso. Poco male, se non fosse per come abbiamo mangiato. Due antipasti buoni a metà (tra l'altro nel mio, mescolato con l'insalata, ho trovato la testa di una vite d'acciaio, e fatta notare al cameriere), due primi, con arselle non molto saporito, e con scampi con un sapore forte di brodo di pesce. Cucina a vista dove due dei tre che c'erano, erano senza cappello. Sapevo che si spende oltre la media e per questo speravo decisamente in meglio. Tra l'altro, avrei gradito almeno le scuse (lo sconto non l'avrei accettato) per la testa della vite nel piatto.

The fantastic platters of cold cuts and cheeses, pici in all sauces... until you get to the undisputed queen... meat... slices, fillets, with mushrooms, truffles, flakes of parmesan and so on... pizza... and also a cuisine that is attentive to celiac disease, even gluten-free is to be praised... But let's get to the point... today my partner and I set off on purpose for a real culinary binge of fish and rice and vegetables... in a few words a magical paella... what can I say, first it kidnapped us and bewitched our eyes then it made us dream with the taste... we can only thank the chef and all his magnificent staff for this culinary journey that from Valencia, made us touch Madrid with a finger, fly on the Rambla in Barcelona, ​​to finally bring us back to Volterra truly satisfied and contented... thank you from the bottom of my heart... 07/04/2025: Locale accogliente nel cuore della Volterra medievale...gentilezza pulizia e professionalità sono le colonne su cui il don beta poggia le sue basi... Lo chef Mirko , un vero personaggio, propone un menù con diverse varianti. Qui si può accarezzare la tradizione con la zuppa o la trippa alla volterrana , vere leccornie.I fantastici taglieri di affettati e formaggi, i pici in tutte le salse.. fino ad arrivare alla regina incontrastata ...la carne ... tagliate ,filetti ,con funghi, tartufo , scaglie di grana e così via ... pizza ....e anche una cucina attenta anche alla celiachia, anche il glutenfree è da elogiare...Ma veniamo al dunque...oggi io e la mia compagna siamo partiti apposta per una vera abbuffata culinaria di pesce e riso e verdura ...in poche parole una magica paella.... che dire prima ci ha rapito e stregato gli occhi poi ci ha fatto sognare con il gusto ...non possiamo che ringraziare lo chef e tutto il suo magnifico staff per questo viaggio culinario che da valencia, ci ha fatto toccare Madrid con un dito , volare sulla rambla a Barcellona ,per riportarci infine a Volterra veramente appagati e soddisfatti ...grazie di cuore ...consiglio a voi tutti di provare il Don Beta...ne vale la pena ...

23/03/2025: Very good food, as expected. The quality of the raw materials and the cuisine are excellent... Simple with real flavours. Attentive and polite service with that touch of elegance (but informal) that makes you feel special. Fish carpaccio with mushrooms and cod to be recommended. Top the marron glacé and as for the dessert trolley... taste them because they are all good. Not a modern setting on a side street, but nice and clean.
