02/07/2025: Abbiamo avuto il piacere di visitare questo ristorante due volte durante il nostro soggiorno in Italia – la prima volta è stata un’esperienza fantastica, la seconda purtroppo molto deludente. Durante la nostra prima visita abbiamo assaggiato una classica pizza Margherita e posso dire sinceramente che è stata una delle migliori pizze che abbiamo mai mangiato. L'impasto era sottile e perfettamente cotto, la salsa di pomodoro ricca e saporita, la mozzarella fresca e ben sciolta – semplice, ma assolutamente perfetta! Quel giorno siamo stati serviti da una signora più anziana, molto gentile e simpatica, che sembrava essere la proprietaria. Si prendeva cura di fire tavolo, parlava con i clienti e creava un'atmosfera davvero accogliente e familiare. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati e benvenuti. Anche il locale ci ha colpiti positivamente: spazioso, ben arredato, con tanti clienti – un segno di qualità. I bagni erano pulitissimi e profumati, un dettaglio importante e non semper scontato. Pieni di entusiasmo siamo tornati qualche giorno dopo, questa volta durante la settimana. Il ristorante era praticamente vuoto e siamo stati serviti da una ragazza giovane, purtroppo poco coinvolta, fredda e quasi infastidita. Abbiamo ordinato dei primi piatti: uno di noi ha preso la pasta ai frutti di mare (niente di speciale), l'altro ha scelto la carbonara al tartufo, consigliata dal pizzaiolo. Ed è qui che è arrivata la grande delusione. La carbonara costava ben 18 euros has era davvero pessima: il sugo si era completamente “stracciato”, sembrava una frittata con pasta. Il gusto era sgradevole e il tartufo praticamente inesistente. Piatto immangiabile, assolutamente non consigliato. Nel complesso, la prima esperienza merita 5 stelle – per la pizza eccezionale, la gentilezza della signora e l'ambiente accogliente. La seconda, purtroppo, ci ha lasciato un gross ricordo, soprattutto per la carbonara e il servizio poco curato. Alla fine, diamo 3 stelle nella speranza che sia stato solo un giorno sfortunato. Tuttavia, se passate da queste parti, vale sicuramente la pena fermarsi almeno per una pizza – lì sono davvero dei maestri! We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant twice during our stay in Italy - the first time we were delighted, the second time, unfortunately, less so. On our first visit, we stumbled upon a true gem – the classic Margherita pizza, which was simply sensational! The thin, perfectly baked crust, the vibrant homemade tomato sauce, the fresh mozzarella – everything worked perfectly. It was one of the best pizzas we've ever had – simple, yet bursting with flavor. We were served by an elderly woman who was very friendly, polite, and always smiling. She seemed like the owner or someone very connected to the place – she chatted with guests, offered advice, and created a wonderful, homey atmosphere. She made a wonderful impression on us as well – large, spacious, tastefully decorated, and full of guests, further underscoring its popularity. The bathrooms are also worth mentioning – spotlessly clean, fragrant, and well-maintained – which, unfortunately, isn't always the norm, even in Italy. Delighted, we returned a few days later, this time during the week. Unfortunately, our second visit proved disappointing. The restaurant was almost empty, and we were served by a young woman – unfortunately, she was unengaged and rude, giving the impression she was there as a punishment. We ordered pasta – I chose the seafood one, and the other person had the carbonara with truffles, recommended by the pizzaiolo. And here was the biggest disappointment – the carbonara cost a whopping 18 euros and was simply not good. The sauce was completely overpowering, and instead of a creamy finish, it was scrambled eggs with pasta. The truffles were completely undetectable. The dish was inedible – unfortunately, I absolutely do not recommend it. In summary – the first visit was A+ and we will remember it for a long time, mainly thanks to the delicious pizza and the charming older waitress. The second, however, left a bad taste in the mouth, mainly due to the terrible carbonara and poor service.

02/07/2025: Very friendly staff. We arrived and originally wanted to dine in, but were too jet-lagged and asked to take the food to go. The staff packed everything to go for us. The food was still fresh and delicious after our brief walk back to our apartment. So far the best Fritto Misto I have had in Italy!

21/06/2025: Terrifying!!!!! Very dirty rooms, horrible environments! I'll only post one photo... I'll spare you the rest! I coughed all night because of the dust... and I don't suffer from allergies!!! I woke up and felt a sensation of wetness under my feet: the air conditioner instead of throwing water out threw it into the room! Not even a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom obviously... luckily there were leaves outside! I won't dwell on the showers. In the morning, we woke up at 6:30 for work reasons and we barely managed to get a coffee... asking and requesting not even an expired biscuit! Obviously the icing on the cake couldn't be missing: we asked for the bill and paid but carelessly the manager, with all his incompetent staff, forgot to charge both rooms... all hell broke loose... we started bombarding each other with calls saying that we ran away... Etc etc Obviously we went back and paid everything but I really hope that structures like this are closed down and forgotten! Tip of the day: stay away!!!!

28/06/2025: Best pizza I’ve ever eaten in! my! life! Dough was amazingly thin yet fluffy and airy. Absolutely love the tomato sauce used on the burrata pizza. Looking forward to more pizzas in Naples, but so far this is the bar to hit. Pizzas were priced reasonably too, most at 10-12 euros.

09/07/2025: Wow. Run, don’t walk, to try the Caponata Siciliana! The husband and wife (owners) were very attentive and helpful with our various allergies and dietary restrictions. I’m celiac and have a dairy allergy, and the other guest is vegan. Everything was wonderful. They are also open at a time when most places are closed. (Pro-tip: they have an indoor area with AC!)

06/07/2025: Good restaurant. The food is good quality but I didn't like the pasta because I thought it was overcooked. The bathrooms are clean and the staff is friendly. A good place to eat near the Duomo

12/06/2025: Super delicious ice cream just outside the old town. The taste is fantastic. The price is very reasonable. Three tastes for €4.50. Friendly staff.

29/06/2025: I randomly chose here to have Polpo, and I'm so happy with my choice. It's a petit lovely scilian riatorante with quality service. The polpo was well cooked but not too much, and I liked the bruschette. I was told it'd be too much yet it was just good!

02/03/2025: Ho provato questo ristorante già un paio di volte quest’anno e ho apprezzato molto la cucina di pesce avendo provato la pasta allo scoglio, all’astice ed il mix di antipasti! Tornerei volentieri per provare il resto ma forse non riuscire a prendere di nuovo lo scoglio che mi è piaciuto veramente tanto! Servizio cortese e prezzi nella media!

06/06/2025: I only came to Il Tiranno Caportigia Restaurant for the breakfast buffet, but it was excellent and high quality. They had a huge range of options, including including eggs, pancakes, waffles, meats/cheeses, pastries, fruit, and so much more. I ate so much and really enjoyed my meal. The waiter was also very friendly and attentive. I could tell this restaurant is higher-end and a great place to dine.

05/07/2025: Very nice location, far from the noise but well connected to the nearest beaches and lidos. Very kind and helpful staff and management. Organic cuisine and good food. Award-winning breakfast. Large, very clean pool. Bicycles on loan. Space to walk at any time. Outdoor and indoor gym equipment. And lots of patience with the guests. We also have a very sweet Labrador that we couldn't leave alone, and she was welcomed with us into the room. This is called hospitality.

22/06/2025: During our week in Ortigia, we came here every day (sometimes several times a day). From breakfast to the delicious aperitif, you feel very well looked after. You also always get a few small snacks, which were very tasty. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff deserves special mention. They weren't above sharing jokes and a few friendly remarks, even though the hotel is very busy. Simply fantastic!

21/06/2025: The ravioli with ricotta and eggplant were a dream! The Nutella pizza and tiramisu were also delicious. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming!

20/06/2025: Not the best, but not bad. A bit expensive for what it's worth. There was a lot of oil on my pizza, but it was still good.
