Excellent place for dinner! The attention to detail from the kitchen is evident in every dish. We ordered: franca, caponata, tagliolini del pescatore, and tiramisu. Delicious!!! It's a truly wonderful dining experience.
The quality/price ratio is excellent; it's the best restaurant we ate at in Sicily.
The manager was delightful, offered us dessert on the house, and was incredibly attentive (always respecting our privacy and not at all intrusive).
100% recommended!!!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Macallè Sicilian Bistrot in Ortigia. The tasting menu was outstanding — a genuine showcase of Sicilian cuisine done with real skill and care, course after course.
The wine selection deserves special mention — a great lineup of Etna Rosse that paired beautifully with the food and gave us a real taste of the local terroir.
A special thank you to Mauricio, who took great care of us throughout the meal and made the evening even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend Macallè if you're looking for an excellent meal in Ortigia — this was one of the standout dining experiences of our Sicily trip.

We got to Maccalè recommended by Martina owner of B&B Maeco. We got a table outside and Maurizio started telling about Sicily, food en life. Very entertaining!
The foodexperience was amazing and Maurizio is a truth entertainer.
Polpo was amazing as was the catch of the day, all prepared at our table in an entertaining way. Go there!

A meal we'll never forget. Afterwards, we've argued at length over which of the four courses was the best dish we've ever eaten. Spectacular food flamboyantly performed. If you're going to splash out on one meal in Sicily make it here and let Maurizio & team do their (beautiful) thing! So. Much. Amazing. Flavour.

If you're looking for a picture-perfect experience in Ortigia—outdoor seating, crowds, background noise—this isn't for you. If you want to stay in the historic center but still sit, breathe, and talk in a normal voice, you're in the right place.
Traditional Sicilian cuisine, but with a bold twist: nothing predictable on the plate, yet nothing out of place. The food is excellent, without frills and without disappointment.

More than just a dinner, it was an experience. Maurizio was a wonderful host, introducing us to flavors and tastes we'd never experienced before. The octopus, which melted in your mouth, and the pasta with the catch of the day were excellent. Truly a must-see if you visit Ortigia.
