04/08/2025: This isn't anything new; rather, it's a confirmation, a guarantee of quality and courtesy that's been around for years since Carmelo's time. The atmosphere is familiar and informal. The fish, as always, is delicious, from the mixed seafood appetizer with calamari, oxeye, octopus, and shrimp to the grilled fish. The pasta with sea urchins is a staple, but the one with shrimp and cherry tomatoes is equally delicious.

01/08/2025: Located in Santa Maria la Scala in the Acireale area. You arrive and there's no real set menu; you pay based on what you order, especially the weight. In fact, when you enter, the first thing you see is the balcony with the daily produce, where you can choose your favorites. We had a seafood salad with shrimp, octopus, and oxeye, and it was excellent. The highlight was the first course, the linguine with magnosa, which was delicious, rich in shellfish and well-made. The mixed fried fish was good, but nothing special. The service, as far as the waiters were concerned, was all friendly and well-trained, but one downside was that we waited almost 40 minutes for the first course, and it wasn't very busy that evening. The price was very reasonable, considering our choices, which weren't cheap, so I found it fair.

Excellent home cooking with a wide range of choices, and a welcome from the owners that reflects a kindness and politeness that are rare these days. We ate there for lunch and also took out for dinner (it's worth it, the food is better than in a restaurant). Super fair prices, excellent value. Go there, you won't regret it.

Despite a reminder about the mistake, I was arrogantly and rudely told to take it anyway. One thing is certain: I will never return to this bar, as I found the staff unkind, welcoming, and courteous.

10/08/2025: We made a reservation and were seated more than half an hour after our scheduled time (even though regulars walked right past us). We asked for raw fish, telling the waiter to choose for us: all dishes were cooked. Plus, there were tables full of children running between the waiters and screaming at the top of their lungs. The three of us spent €100 for appetizers and a bottle of sparkling wine. Unfortunately, we weren't regulars.

02/08/2025: We came here to eat on the recommendation of a friend who had been there a few years ago, but when we called to make a reservation, the first table was at 10:30 PM. In the end, you said, "It's a little late, but we can eat." When they seated us, the table was visibly dirty. They brought us dirty cutlery, glasses, and plates. As we saw, these items were visibly dirty and greasy. We asked for a change, and they brought us dirtier items. We also asked for a change. After a 20-minute wait, we had to remind the waiter that we didn't have these items. They brought us the menu, and since it's a seafood restaurant that claims to have fresh products, all the menus had asterisks indicating frozen products. After 50 minutes, they took our order. The result was that we started eating after an hour, and our hunger had already subsided. I had to remind them several times to bring the dishes, one dish wasn't served, and on top of that, the communication between the person taking the orders and the person bringing them was terrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there; the service is terrible, the HACCP standards are questionable, and management is zero.

My husband and I had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant, where we enjoyed 1.2 kg of matured meat: a true delight, rated 10/10 without reservation. The staff is attentive, warm, and caring. Special mention should be made of the owner, whose kindness and personalized welcome greatly contributed to the quality of this experience. We had a remarkable time and will return with great pleasure. The prices are quite reasonable considering the quality of the products and the service provided.

We started with an appetizer full of typical local dishes, all tasty and beautifully presented. Next up was the strozzapreti: simply delicious, with a sauce that perfectly complemented the pasta. To conclude, an excellent tiramisu, creamy and with a perfect balance of sweetness and intensity. An experience worth repeating!

09/07/2025: On the occasion of a very special occasion, we decided to visit a very well-known and renowned restaurant in our city for dinner. It's located in the historic center, right on a street that connects Piazza Lionardo Vigo, adjacent to the church dedicated to the co-patron saint, San Sebastiano, to the Piazza del Duomo, overlooked by the Acireale Town Hall and the Cathedral. Because it's summer, the pizzeria moves all its seating outside, in a small green villa overlooking the square. We were greeted by a very young, yet expert, competent, and above all friendly staff. After a reasonable wait, we received a portion of classic, simple French fries and then two pizzas: a "Norma" and a "Profumata." We enjoyed all three courses because they were prepared in a reasonable amount of time, with impeccable ingredients and cooking, which truly satisfied our taste buds. Despite the very common products, tradition and quality, as always, outweigh innovation and originality when not combined. The restaurant is fully equipped, even inside, and the menu offers a wide selection of dishes, divided by category, as well as traditional desserts from our local cuisine. The bill was also absolutely reasonable for what we ordered and the service we received from all the staff, even when making our reservation. The quiet and simple yet formal atmosphere, along with the excellent dinner offered, made this moment of remembrance an occasion we will never forget.
