04/01/2026: T2T - Training to Taste - Our first visit to this restaurant was a pleasure. We found the atmosphere to be immaculate and clean. The wait staff was welcoming and available to offer descriptions and recommendations. Good training was evident, with significant results in both the wine and food service. The menu was simple, but perfectly cooked, served in attractive plates or pans. The taste was perfect, with no digestive issues: the ingredients were definitely fresh and carefully selected. The price was reasonable, without being overpriced. Congratulations.

12/04/2026: It's truly a gem. An enviable location, just before the entrance to Orta, on the hill overlooking the lake, with a wonderful view! Excellent breakfast, on the veranda overlooking the lake or, if desired, on the terrace. Guaranteed parking for guests, which in Orta is a big plus. Exceptional cleanliness and hospitality.

04/05/2026: We stopped in during the agricultural fair, accompanied by a friend who frequents the place often. He'd already warned us: "Don't overdo it with the orders"... and he was absolutely right! The portions are generous, always accompanied by fries and vegetables. The dishes are tasty and well-prepared, from the burgers to the cutlet: everything is very satisfying. The photos speak for themselves. Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere, with excellent value. One piece of advice: always check your receipt when paying. In our case, there was a major mistake (we were about to pay for other tables as well), which was resolved immediately after reporting it. Overall, a positive experience, but it's worth paying attention to this aspect.

10/05/2026: It's truly an old port. Even though the name on the outside says "Ristorante Trota Vagabonda." If you're there for the first time, you might be a bit perplexed. Afterward, you ask for information inside, and the location is indeed Al Vecchio Porto. The servings are very generous and of good quality. Perhaps use a little less oil for the black ravioli. The desserts are quite good. The plating could be improved...like the sorbet balls. I would bring the wine corked, not opened. We didn't ask if they had a wine list. Our mistake. On the other hand, we had a good time; the wait staff was very kind and professional. We'll be back.

29/04/2026: Company dinner, a fixed menu of meat or fish, all inclusive, for €28. We had a lovely evening. There was an appetizer for every four people, then they brought a tray of first and second courses (I even had seconds). One thing the group complained about was the potatoes... too few... you can never have enough potatoes 🤪 Water, wine, and bread rolls, plus 4/5 flavors of sorbet. Congratulations

22/04/2026: Back with friends for lunch, from Tuesday to Friday you can choose either the à la carte menu or the golfer's menu for €20, which includes a first course, a second course, 1/4 water and 1/4 wine, the choice is between 3 first courses and 3 second courses, the quality is always excellent as is the service

The service is above average, even just the welcome entree gives you a sense of the level of care and attention. The portions are just right, excellent quality. You'll be satisfied when you finish your meal. We were even more impressed with the bill; in our opinion, the prices are low compared to what they offer. So, congratulations, we'll be back and spread the word. Places like this deserve to grow!

The service was impeccable from start to finish, with friendly, competent, and attentive staff, without being intrusive. The food exceeded every expectation: carefully prepared dishes, harmonious flavors, and a truly exceptional blend that speaks of the care and passion put into the kitchen. Even the details make the difference, like the clean and meticulously maintained bathrooms, which is not always a given. A complete and very positive experience. Definitely a place to return to.
