04/05/2026: A very nice place near the center of Novara. We tried the "friendship spadellata," a very nice and original idea. Everything was delicious at a fair and honest price... the only complaint we made to the staff was that the pasta was cooked a little too al dente, which ruined the deliciousness of the tomato sauce with buffalo mozzarella and basil!!! The pasta was a little on the thin side; a tip, given how good it is, is that an extra 100 grams wouldn't hurt... and customers would leave truly satisfied... as was the chef's platter; it was delicious and satisfying because the portion was perfect!!! The service was very professional, and we appreciated the change of cutlery from the platter to the pasta. The coffee, in my opinion, was also very good.

29/11/2025: Unfortunately, we weren't able to order anything because the owner rudely kicked us out of the place like two thieves, as we had a small 5kg dog with us. I recommend the owner put up a larger sign to highlight the prohibition.

06/03/2026: Friendly service, delicious pizza with exceptionally good dough, and a lovely ambiance in the glass-enclosed conservatory; the location right on the street is still pleasant and easily accessible. The seafood pasta was tasty, but rather average compared to the pizza. The prices are fair, and the overall value is good. Just barely five stars and a great choice for a relaxed pizza experience on Lake Maggiore.

The owner of the B&B where we were staying (Villa Preziosa) recommended this place to us, and we thank him. We tried a Margherita, paccheri alla norma, and octopus Galician-style. 08/04/2026: I've been going to Risto Ponti for several years, and the experience has always been impeccable. It's one of those restaurants you'll want to return to because you know you're guaranteed a great experience. The cuisine is typically Italian, well-prepared, with carefully crafted dishes and quality ingredients. What's truly impressive is the value for money: you eat very well for absolutely average prices—in fact, considering the quality, even lower than you'd expect. The welcome is another strong point: always warm, attentive, and professional. They make you feel at home without being intrusive, which is something that's not always a given these days. In short, a reliable restaurant where you eat well, spend the right amount, and are treated with great care. Highly recommended 👍

08/05/2026: A good restaurant with lovely views from the terrace. We were there for work and they gave us a set menu, with a very good risotto as our main course. Overall, everything was very good.

02/05/2026: Honestly, for €50 per person without wine (appetizer and first course), I expected a much higher quality. The Russian salad didn't convince me at all: eating it, it seemed more industrial than homemade. The trout appetizer also didn't convey much quality; it seemed like a pre-made one. The side salad was very basic. I had the same feeling about the first courses: the panciotti weren't up to par, while the tagliolini with squid ink lacked salt; I had to add it myself. Overall, the cuisine requires more attention, in my opinion, because with a location like this and these prices, you expect much more! That said, the service was very kind and attentive; you feel truly welcomed! The location is beautiful on the lake. And as a huge bread lover... the bread they serve is amazing!

We were fortunate to be the only guests and enjoyed the owner's excellent company as well as the delicious food. This restaurant exudes an atmosphere of old-fashioned hospitality, which unfortunately is becoming increasingly rare. We thank Mr. Valazza and all the staff again for the wonderful evening.

01/04/2026: A truly sublime experience at this historic restaurant, which has lost none of its elegance over the years, both in the dining room and the kitchen. Despite the complex request for a vegan menu for both my friend and I, the chef offered us refined, tasty, and beautifully presented dishes. The service was top-notch, attentive and meticulous, and the wait staff was friendly and approachable. We'll gladly return!

25/04/2026: Let me start by saying that the place is beautifully renovated and well-kept. Even though it was packed, they took our order in no time. They have a fixed-price menu with various choices of first courses, second courses, desserts, etc. Obviously, it's a trattoria with typical trattoria dishes. And that's fitting. We started with a series of simple but absolutely delicious appetizers. Then, since there were five of us, we opted for a couple of first courses from all the ones offered. Unfortunately, one of them was the old-fashioned kind (maybe it was tagliatelle) with cream and I don't remember what else, but it was really heavy. Heavy, very heavy, too heavy, but good. Oh, and while we were eating, we drank a more than decent bottle of Bonarda and a truly sad local white wine. Anyway, so far, more or less, so good. Being full, at this point we ordered, if I remember correctly, a couple of stews (very good) and three cheese plates (cheese is on the menu as a choice). With the idea... since the menu is a fixed price, we'll split the stew and take the cheese home. And here's where the disaster happens. As soon as they bring us the cheese, we ask for a container to take it home. We ask for it before even tasting the dishes. I'm not obligated to take home leftovers if I want; I can also take home the whole dish if I want. Considering the fixed price. Seeing their surprise at this request, we specify that a clean paper napkin is fine. They were surprised simply because it wasn't supposed to allow anyone to take anything home. Anyway, they bring us a napkin, or napkins, I don't remember. We finish with dessert, coffee, etc., etc., and pay the dues (absolutely fair). So why did I give it three stars and not four? After all, almost everything went well. Because I didn't tell you about one small detail. We arrive, sit down, and read the menu that the price is fixed. Excellent. When they take our order, we order 5 first courses and 5 second courses (the appetizers are pre-determined). Then they tell us: I'll come get the second courses later because you might not be hungry after the appetizers and first courses. And that's absolutely right, because it's bad to waste food. But if you fill me up with appetizers and first courses and then get pissed off or aren't prepared to let me take home a second course that I'll have to pay for anyway... then it seems a bit sneaky to me. I swear, this is the first time in my entire life I've ever taken something home from a restaurant. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with that, but I've never done it before. But as they say: nobody's a fool.
