06/05/2026: This restaurant is located directly on the main square of Orta San Giulio, with a beautiful, well-maintained outdoor area that stands out from many other restaurants for its attention to detail. The interior is small but remarkably welcoming and renovated. The dishes we chose were all excellent, beautifully plated, and the ingredients were of exceptional quality. The service is excellent, always attentive and friendly, and we had the pleasure of speaking with the young couple who run the restaurant impeccably about their focus on ingredients from small local producers, which was reflected in the dishes! Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

01/05/2026: We went as a couple on May 1st. It wasn't easy to find a seat given the large crowd, except at this wine shop where the wait was minimal. The service was very helpful and courteous, although the selection is limited. The cold cuts and cheese platter for two was a bit sparse, but still good. Plus, a half-liter bottle of water and a glass of Arneis, for a total of €35... well, that's about it. Rating 6.5 Next time, we'll try somewhere else.

26/04/2026: Our favorite place. Excellent wine selection, great platter, and excellent bruschetta. Our daughter loves the bagna caoda. The staff is lovely, and Andrea is fantastic as always. I think we've loved this place for about twenty years, located in a wonderful location, Orta San Giulio.

06/05/2026: What we ordered: open raviolo with scallops and courgette flowers, with lemon and black garlic sauce, spaghetti with red shrimp absolute, intense bisque, seared shrimp and fresh basil, asparagus ravioli with butter, roast sauce, crispy bacon and balsamic vinegar, eggplant and yellowfin tuna parmiggiana with almond cream and sesame dressing. I won't describe in detail my impressions of each dish, as I would have to repeat the exact same thing for each one. Each was top-notch. A true feast for the palate. The yellowfin tuna deserves special mention, both for the quality of the fish used and the perfect way it was cooked to perfection. The scallop ravioli was similar. The sauce made from the heads and shells of the red shrimp was very intense – it made a truly impressive impression. The asparagus ravioli was heavenly light. The service was excellent, demonstrating sensitivity and class. The wine was perfectly matched. Fair price-quality ratio.

12/04/2026: The room was a bit dated, and the bedding needs replacing. The terrace had a lovely mountain view and also a lake view. However, it's right in the center with parking and a nice breakfast.

16/11/2025: Fantastic! We really had a great time. The location is stunning. The service is very attentive. The dishes are exquisitely refined, a return to the past that leaves the customer satisfied. We'll be back because it was truly worth it! The chef is kind and helpful.

03/04/2026: The location comes at a price (outdoor space right by the lake), but it's worth more than the one in the center of Orta. Good food and service, excellent homemade bread (not at all predictable). Recommended.

09/03/2026: Truly a surprise in terms of hospitality and professionalism. Ample parking in a truly challenging area; impossible on holidays. Coffee and pastry shop available both inside and outside the building. Ample outdoor seating. Play area and garden for children. A pleasure to try! A short walk from the city center.

14/07/2025: Very friendly, typical and above all very well-equipped little town! I would like to give a huge thumbs up for having made bins available almost everywhere, which fortunately forces tourists to respect them! I was afraid of walking around the lake and I must say that I was surprisingly surprised by the facilities!!!! Tourists are spoiled! The little tourist train, nice! And above all very practical! The island to visit, a haven of peace!!! Very quick crossing by small boat, with very friendly and attentive staff. Small downside.... There are many restaurants, menus and drinks that are decent, but from the start and automatically we are spoken to in English, whereas it would be more pleasant in Italian!!!!

04/01/2026: A very characteristic location in the center of Orta. Very structured menu; the appetizers could easily be second courses. Extensive and refined wine list. Experienced, attentive service. Medium-high prices. A must try! 💚

27/12/2025: Very nice place. Really good food. The waiters were kind, polite, and attentive. You might be wondering why only 2 stars. If I could split the rating, I'd give 5 stars to the overall experience, the food, and the waiters, and 1 star to the "supposed owner" (or, at least, the person who pretended to be one). Throughout the lunch, she did nothing but read aloud the negative reviews of local restaurants, denigrating and ridiculing them. She then added a few minutes of criticism and polemic (not at all constructive) towards Villa Crespi, calling it inadequate and complaining that Orta is known only for the Villa and its Michelin-starred restaurant. She also stated loudly that Villa Crespi would delete negative Tripadvisor reviews so it always has good reviews. An unpleasant comment that confirms her intention to take pleasure in denigrating others. That said, if you enjoy good food at a traditional, local restaurant, I recommend it. I hope the woman reads this comment and realizes the bad publicity she's given not only to her competitors, but also to her own restaurant. My only practical advice for the restaurant: the dark bread is good, but the white one is a bit hard. I'd replace it.

16/04/2026: If we could, we'd give more stars. A truly unique culinary experience. A very cool place, rustically decorated, with a good selection of background music, and fast, friendly, attentive, and professional service. The food was truly unique and an explosion of flavor. From the appetizer to the house wine, dessert, and espresso. Simply wow. We've never had such good Italian food for such a fair price. We stumbled upon it by chance. Absolutely recommended. My friend, who is rarely satisfied, was speechless.

26/04/2026: This restaurant and pizzeria is just a few minutes' walk from Orta's historic center, overlooking the lake. We had tasty, hearty meals. There are tables both inside and out. There's a multi-story parking garage right next door.
