03/03/2025: I was there in February and I ate very well, above my expectations. I took some bruschetta which were crostoni, excellent with liver pâté and cheese/ham and chopped pistachios; pappardelle with wild boar ragù, fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, rabbit hunter style, dessert and assortment of special biscuits. Generous portions, really good bill. Try their stuffed tortelloni! Courteous service.

01/03/2025: Excellent and plentiful dishes at reasonable prices. Gnocchi with sheep ragù, a real poem, mixed fried meat (very tender) cooked in an original way. All "seasoned" by very kind staff right from the moment of booking. Mandatory stop every time you are in the area. Well done!

23/03/2025: We went to this place for a Sunday lunch with the family, it was the first time and we were immediately struck by the uniqueness and beauty of the location where you can breathe a vintage atmosphere but everything is taken care of in the best possible way down to the smallest details, fast and welcoming service ready to satisfy even the needs of the little ones, and finally the dishes, in addition to being beautiful to look at, were above all good, good, good, so the place is highly recommended!!!!!!!

The eccentric and refined environment makes the experience even more pleasant, while the quality of the raw materials is simply excellent. The seasonal and refined menu shows great attention to detail and culinary creativity. A place that knows how to amaze and conquer with every visit. Highly recommended!

09/03/2025: Absolutely worth trying! Very nice location and elegant interior. The dishes are all worth trying, clearly the wild boar reigns supreme but there are also many dishes with the company's products. Careful plating and generous portions. Compliments to the lady in the room for her friendliness and kindness. Highly recommended!

06/02/2025: This place is by far the best value and maybe best food place in town. Staff was very understanding to our American novelties (not being able to speak Italian) and every aspect of the food was perfect. Will absolutely return, probably many times.

04/02/2025: A very nice and welcoming place, it is managed by the good Chef Bandana (Massimo) who is a friendly and efficient person, offering cuisine inspired by local tradition... enriched by some pleasant refinements! We enjoyed a good appetizer, delicious tonnarelli with red meat and mushroom sauce, an amazing stew, an excellent beef steak and a genuine mixed side salad. We ended the meal with some good tozzetti and coffee. The cost/quality ratio is extremely favourable. Worth a visit.

The owner formulated for us (a table of 12 people) a fixed menu at €40 (with drinks not included) structured as follows: Starters: Shrimp in kataifi paste with wakame seaweed salad; Bruschetta with flavored lard pesto. Smoked beef carpaccio with parmesan rocket and lemon First course: ⁠Scialatielli with pumpkin cream and pecorino bacon Second course: ⁠Pork ribs with BBQ sauce and baked potatoes Dessert: Express tiramisu Sophisticated cuisine and slow, delicate cooking with refined combinations. The first course and dessert were splendid. Experience to be redone. Wonderful village!

08/03/2025: Una vera chicca: cibo squisito, atmosfera raffinata ma familiare, prezzi equi. Tagliolini al limone e ragù di chianina e antipasto di vitello affumicato con carciofi divini. Eccellente scelta di vini. Mi chiedo come sia possibile che una perla come questa sia così poco popolare. Veramente non me lo spiego.

08/03/2025: A real gem: exquisite food, refined but familiar atmosphere, fair prices. Lemon tagliolini and Chianina ragù and smoked veal appetizer with divine artichokes. Excellent choice of wines. I wonder how it is possible that a pearl like this is so unpopular. I really can't explain it.

05/03/2025: La nostra esperienza presso La locanda del Principe è stata più che positiva! Io, mio marito e nostra figlia di 1 anno abbiamo soggiornato presso questa struttura per 4 notti. Tutto è stato gestito con cura e attenzione, dall’accoglienza calorosa al check-out. Il titolare fin dal primo momento è stato molto disponibile e pronto a soddisfare le nostre esigenze. Sul luogo è presente un ampio parcheggio interno. La camera è confortevole, abbastanza spaziosa e pulita. Abbiamo anche cenato tutte le sere nel loro ristorante/pizzeria: la sala è spaziosa, i pasti ottimi e abbondanti. La posizione della Locanda è strategica per ammirare molti borghi ed altri luoghi di interesse nelle vicinanze (noi abbiamo raggiunto comodamente Viterbo, Lago di Vico, Bolsena, Bomarzo, Orvieto, Civita di bagnoregio, Orte ed altro!). Sia per il pernottamento che per il cibo, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è eccellente. Speriamo di tornarci presto, grazie!

04/03/2025: Raramente ho trovato un servizio così cordiale ma la cosa veramente eccezionale la cucina. Dopo vari rinvii abbiamo deciso di provare la locanda , molti ne parlano bene e incuriositi andiamo io la mia signora e tre persone molto attente alla qualità. Risultato tutto veramente ecccellente

15/03/2025: Posto esattamente come piace a me semplice esposto al sole dove puoi mangiare e gustare gli ottimi cibi proposti sotto un caldo raggio di sole pappardelle al cinghiale ai funghi porcini di ottima fattura sia dalla pasta sia nella quantità sia per condimento personale e simpaticissimo accogliente e genuino porzioni più che abbondanti e prezzi più che contenuti consiglio a tutti per l'ottimo pranzo un'ottima cena

02/03/2025: Phenomenal first courses. Fresh handmade pasta. Super generous portions. We had fettuccine with white wild boar ragù (very good and plentiful seasoning) and gnocchi with mushrooms. Friendly and very kind staff. It feels like home ❤️

28/02/2025: I returned to the Taverna after years of absence from Viterbo and, mindful of a very positive memory, I brought several colleagues with me. The place has been renovated and expanded, I still have the memory of the very kind previous owner who always welcomed us with a smile and kindness. Unfortunately the management has changed and with it also the way of welcoming customers. As soon as we arrived we moved the table slightly away from the wall, because the paint was crumbling due to the humidity and we didn't want to get our jackets dirty. We were rudely reprimanded by the blonde-haired waitress. During dinner, with us already seated, she arrives and moves the table again saying that it was crooked, we look at her astonished without saying a word. We ordered some cuts of Black Angus, some weighing 500g. As soon as we started cutting the meat we noticed that it had a lot of nerve filaments and fat inside. I kindly asked them to change the knife. I pointed out that the one they brought me didn't cut either and in response I was told that you can't cut the nerves but you have to fray them. It was almost time for me to be given a lesson in cutting meat, it was the first time I was told that the sinews present in the meat cannot be cut, to justify the problem that the cut brought to the customer was full of sinews and excessive fat (over 200g of the 500gr was fat). Seeing another colleague of mine, who had ordered the same cut of meat and couldn't eat it because it contained more fat than mine, I called the waitress and told her to go to the kitchen and point out that the meat had some problems being consumed and that the cut was evidently very fatty. I asked to tell the chef and I was told "he's busy at the moment, if you want, go and tell him everything". Let's start from good manners, first of all it could have been my daughter and she allows herself to address me firsthand, furthermore I am the customer and I certainly don't go into the kitchen at most the chef goes to the table as soon as it is free and asks what's wrong. Obviously none of this happened, they continued to address us as informal, when we reached the cashier the chef came out of the kitchen and told us that the cuts of meat were all the same. He took a piece of beef loin and exclaimed this is the same as the one you ordered, it's a shame that we ordered Black Angus. In response, I pointed out to him that some cuts of meat can happen with a bit of fat inside but what arrived at our table was truly excessive. Taking into account that the chef was convinced of his reasons, we settled the bill and wished them a good evening. I will refrain from reporting the opinions of other colleagues, suffice it to say that they were all negative and they were deeply disappointed.
