The pasta had just the right texture and the sauce was rich and flavorful, with the local pecorino cheese adding that extra touch of character. But the real surprise was the dessert: chestnuts boiled in rum and cream. A perfect tribute to the fruits of the Cimini Mountains; the natural sweetness of the chestnuts paired divinely with the strong note of the rum and the softness of the fresh cream. A balanced and unpredictable combination. The staff was extremely kind and attentive, making the lunch even more enjoyable. Excellent value for money. If you pass through Caprarola, this is a must-see gastronomic stop!

You dine in a lovely, tranquil atmosphere with light background music that cheers up the evening. The gourmet dishes are of excellent quality. 19/04/2026: old 16th century monastery that now serves as ristorante. The food was delicious! Great craftmanship! Even something so simple as patatine fritte was made perfectly! We had the Pici, the Parmigiana, tagliata con porcino, it was so good. Also, with our kids, the staff was amazing! Surely we will come back

We ate outside on a charming medieval alley, accompanied by the restaurant owners' beautiful cat. We didn't receive a bill or receipt, and the price was inflated; after adding up the prices from the menu and the final patent later, it turned out we were charged over 10 euros more than we should have been. We weren’t allowed to sit on the covered porch because we were told that the seats there “were reserved,” yet in the evening only one family showed up and took one of the many tables there. The same thing happened to the guests from Hungary and the Americans; they were also directed to tables under the trees. We think this was done so that none of the Italians would see the billing practices. The waitress wasn't allowed to take money from us; her boss came over to collect the payment. It’s a shame that such a beautiful place is so poorly managed. It's a beautiful place, but I have the impression that foreigners are a source of additional income. Excellent service, and they even took off the bill a pappardelle with wild boar that I didn't eat (I reordered another first course). Unfortunately, the meal wasn't good. The owner of our B&B had advised against it, citing a change of management, but having found it in the osteria guide, we decided to try it anyway. We would have done better to listen to him.

05/04/2026: An excellent discovery in the Tuscia area of ​​Viterbo: Il Vecchio Mulino is a typical restaurant where great cuisine and the beauty of the region meet. If you can, book a table on the small terrace: the view of Civita di Bagnoregio and the ravines is simply breathtaking and worth the trip alone. Then the food arrives, and you realize it's not just the location that's special: lamb offal, tagliolini with fresh asparagus and truffle, roast lamb, pici pasta with bacon, pecorino cheese, and cherry tomatoes... all truly excellent. In short, a perfect day. Also noteworthy is the service, very friendly and professional from the moment you book. Places like this don't just happen: it's definitely worth a visit, but book the terrace ahead of time because it's the restaurant's true gem.
