The quality is top-notch: you can immediately taste the care taken in the raw materials and preparation, unlike packaged or standardized products. The staff is extremely kind, professional, and respectful, always available to explain and advise with expertise and courtesy. The atmosphere is very pleasant, welcoming, and relaxing, and it's truly a pleasure to return each time. 08/04/2026: Heaven on earth for celiacs 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰. I arrived in Trieste very late a few nights ago and as always when I travel my fear is not finding anything or almost nothing AIC certified. But, thanks to an Instagram profile I follow, I discovered this wonderful place 🥰. What can I say! Excellent and super nutritious breakfast, welcoming place with attention to the smallest details, kind and qualified staff from those behind the counter to those serving at the tables, a huge selection of products obviously gluten-free but also dairy-free. I will stay for a few days in Trieste and it will be my place of ❤️.

08/05/2026: The food was delicious and fresh. Large portions. The waiters do not speak English. Long waiting time for food. In summary, a recommended place to eat in Trieste.

07/05/2026: We arrived late on Saturday evening and without a reservation, but were nevertheless served with warmth and kindness. The food was excellent and the wine was good. We will definitely be back.

03/05/2026: We had a delicious pizza, with generous toppings. The place is small and charming, with excellent table service.

28/04/2026: A pizzeria straight out of the 70s. The portions were truly minuscule. The gnocchi, which cost a whopping 15 euros, were clearly store-bought, and we could even hear the microwave. The meat in the Bolognese sauce was practically nonexistent. We left hungry.

20/11/2025: On Saturday, November 15, 2025, a friend and I were looking for a typical Trieste place where we could eat a good hot ham sandwich and some other delicacies, as true Triestine people often do. Luckily, the 5 or 6 places we usually go to were all closed... it was 2:45 PM... I say fortunately because when we arrived at Barriera, we looked at each other and said together, "Let's go there," seeing everything open. We found all the staff professional, friendly, and welcoming, and they seated us with a smile. We immediately ordered 2 ham and eggplant sandwiches, which were amazing, 1 ham and gorgonzola, which was even better, 2 beers, and 300 grams of ham for home, since just the thought of having already finished it made your mouth water, and all at a very fair total price. We used to go to 5 or 6 places for years, now we'll only go to one place... "Salumeria a mano" Go there and you'll hit the mark. Congratulations to everyone Staff...Alessandro and Rea will be back to you very soon.

07/05/2026: A very intimate place, with a warm welcome from the legendary young waiter, Christian, who is very witty and empathetic, and makes you feel at home. Very good food. Recommended.

21/04/2026: We had a magical evening at the Osteria. The atmosphere was truly wonderful, and the food was fantastic! Many thanks to the incredibly friendly waitress and the amazing (small, but all the more authentic for it) kitchen. We'll definitely be back!

31/03/2026: I couldn't wait to return after years away from Trieste. I was happy to have found Xiaohua again, always kind and welcoming. I had the opportunity to watch her prepare the ravioli, from the dough to the rolling out of the dough, and the preparation of the fillings with carefully selected ingredients. In addition to the ravioli, my friend and I really enjoyed the Lotus Flower soup, curry rice, crispy duck, and beef with onions. There's plenty of choice, even for vegetarians. Open only for dinner, it's not large but artfully decorated and welcoming.

02/05/2026: "Decent" food, basic service, and a typical buffet atmosphere. Buffets are becoming extinct, but there are better ones out there.

12/09/2025: The place is quaint, and you can eat outside in the courtyard, shaded by the trees. Service is fast, and the owners are attentive and courteous. The food is all authentic and high-quality; the cured meats and cheeses are excellent, as are the vegetables and crostini. The desserts are delicious. The prices are very fair. Definitely worth trying again. Reservations are recommended, as it's always crowded during opening hours.

26/08/2025: A wonderful experience, for the food (excellent quality cured meats, cheeses, bread, and desserts!), for the setting (the courtyard of a country house... like being with family!), for the punctual service (very fast, despite the many guests!), for the serene and joyful atmosphere that enriched our holiday! Thank you so much... I recommend everyone to try it!!!

05/04/2026: Unfortunately, disappointing. The portions were quite small, there was too much tomato sauce in the tagliolini alla busara, hardly any fish, just one prawn on top, and some finely chopped fish, alla bolognese style (unique). The calamari fritti were overcooked and therefore brown and dry. The only thing that tasted halfway decent was the seafood gnocchi. Oh well…

12/04/2026: I ordered three pizzas for takeout, including one with sausage, broccoli rabe, and provolone, and asked for the sausage to be omitted. I get home and find a Margherita with broccoli rabe on top. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've made a mistake, but I wanted to give it a try anyway, because the pizza is good. I'm sorry, but I think this will be the last time I get pizza.

27/04/2026: Delicious food, fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The appetizer is fantastic, both in quality and quantity. That's enough. Or you can opt for a first and second course, or a first and a side dish. You can't even get to dessert. The owners are very kind and professional. Good value. The atmosphere is family-friendly, yet refined. Recommended for those who enjoy good food and drink, in a relaxed atmosphere.
