20/08/2025: Buffet L'Approdo is an ideal stop for those who want to enjoy authentic Trieste cuisine. The atmosphere is simple and welcoming, and the staff is friendly. The typical dishes, such as sardines, goulash, creamed cod, and warm cooked ham with horseradish, are excellent. Generous portions and fair prices. An authentic restaurant well worth a visit.

19/09/2025: It's a very distinctive icon...the pergola...unique. Excellent for an aperitif. The meatballs are very delicious and flavorful, as are the lubianske (a kind of pasta) to go with the ham and mustard and horseradish. 😋😋😋

10/10/2025: A nice place to have breakfast or just a coffee. They have several options for desserts, in particular, the small ones like Viola💜, Tropical💛, Sacher piccola💗, etc. Coffee is very good. If you are sitting there, you will also get one nice "Fave" served 😊. Overall, very nice! Coffees are slightly expensive than typical Trieste price, but it is worth spending some time in this well decorated, cozy atmosphere 😌

The waiting staff were extremely kind, professional (and friendly), and attentive to customer satisfaction. The service was quick, and the prices were more than fair for the amount of food! Congratulations! Thanks to you, we made a great impression on our Piedmontese guests. We'll definitely be back! WELL DONE! P.S.!! After the dishes were ordered and ready for delivery, I had to leave due to an urgent service issue. They let me know, and even though the restaurant was full, they waited for my return within 20 minutes, serving me perfectly hot and tasty food! Their kindness was not necessarily due, but it was more than appreciated, and it does the restaurant justice!

10/10/2025: We had lunch at Buffet Gildo today and were thrilled! The place, packed and lively, immediately won us over with its authentic atmosphere. Delicious food, a wide selection, friendly service, and excellent prices: a perfect mix that makes it one of our favorite places in Trieste. We can't wait to return with our family, who are coming from the South, to share a true and delicious slice of Trieste tradition with them. An unmissable stop, both for those visiting the city and for those looking for a delicious lunch break that feels like home and tradition. Wonderful!

21/09/2025: The service is phenomenal, from Elizabeth. She treated me wonderfully. The food... well, neither here nor there. They even put sausage on it. The pasta is thick. I didn't expect pizza like this from an Italian pizzeria. The pizza is amazing! But the price is good!

27/09/2025: The service is a 5/5, the food however is unfortunately not. I had Spaghetti with scampi (20 Euro). The sauce was not better than strained tomatoes from the super market. The scampis did not have much meat and the fritto misto (24 Euro) was below average for Trieste. It's way too pricey for the quality you get. They also still have a squat toilet.

06/09/2025: Found it by chance and it was a surprise. The owner, a waiter and dishwasher from Desio, is not only a good businessman but also an excellent cook. Recommended dishes?? ALL OF THEM!! The place needs a little more attention as it's starting to show its age, but otherwise highly recommended!!

20/10/2025: Stumbled upon this place. The gnocchi was delicious, especially the truffle and very good portion size.

07/09/2025: A sure thing! After our first dinner together almost a year ago, we've become regulars! The atmosphere and staff are formal, yet at the same time absolutely friendly. The cuisine, to our personal taste, is impeccable, with refined ingredients and wines, all top-quality! It's exciting that the menu often offers at least one new dish to discover!
