29/05/2025: Abbiamo organizzato un pranzo con famiglia ed amici per festeggiare il nostro 25esimo anniversario di matrimonio.
È stata una bellissima giornata,in una location splendida!!!
Ottimo il cibo ed ottima la preparazione.Tutto a base di pesce!
Un ringraziamento speciale a Paolo per la sua professionalità e gentilezza,e a tutto il suo staff che ci ha accompagnato per tutta la giornata!!!

12/05/2025: We spent four wonderful days at the taverna Cigui during our yoga retreat and were truly impressed. The food was exceptional – fresh, local, and prepared with love. The variety, especially the fish dishes, was amazing.
The taverna is set in a beautiful olive grove, creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We felt at home and enjoyed every moment.
We’ll definitely be back – thank you for everything!

12/06/2025: Walking through the alleys of Muggia we came across this beautiful little place: we had some wine, a platter of cold cuts and cheeses that was a sight to behold and a chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and looked after in detail, the platter was one of the most beautiful and good I have ever eaten! The staff is so friendly and kind that it makes you feel at home, the prices are reasonable. We will definitely be back!
08/06/2025: Not sure what was the best, the food, the service or the staff. My wife is a vegetarian and we got a custom made vegetarian aperitivo plate that was simply amazing. I'd recommend the focaccia bread with truffle paired with the muggia local wine.

09/06/2025: This idyllic restaurant right on the harbor offers not only culinary highlights (tip: linguine with lobster), but also the warm hospitality of Chef Marco and his team. At the end of the meal, the chef himself performed a spontaneous birthday serenade for my wife on the accordion. Thank you so much for this unforgettable lunch. We'll definitely be back!

26/06/2025: Last night we tried this restaurant, one of the few that is open on Mondays. I really liked the spaghetti allo scoglio. The carpaccio was also good. The mixed fried fish was tasty, the calamari was tender. The people who work in the dining room were very kind. On very hot evenings, book a table near the sea 😃.
23/06/2025: We went to this restaurant located a few steps from the main square.
It was recommended by friends from Trieste.
The restaurant is very beautiful, with elegant and colorful furnishings and tableware.
The terrace where we had a table offers a spectacular view.
The menu has fair prices and generous portions.
The seafood appetizer, consisting of 11 fish, was cold and hot, each one better than the other.
Excellent wine list with biodynamic wines.
We had a lovely evening. Thank you!

10/06/2025: A wonderful place!
We spent 3 nights here and found everything we needed for a perfect short break. Everyone is not just friendly, but welcoming; the hosts are excellent, both in the hotel and in the restaurant.
Nature surrounds the property, the large saltwater pool is well-maintained, and the restaurant is excellent.
Everything is spotlessly clean and exudes the charm of its era, as can be seen in the pictures.
The view from the balcony stretches from the sea between the treetops to a giant wisteria tree that canopies the restaurant.
We had a great rest and, thanks to the friendly welcome, felt at home in no time.
A full 5 stars because you get everything as described.
A 5-minute walk takes you to the bus to Muggia and/or from there, a 10-minute ferry ride to Trieste. Just a heads-up for people like us who like to leave the car parked...
05/06/2025: It's very pleasant to stay overnight at Hotel Sole, the staff is more than kind and you can feel as been at home
We joined the spot by bike and was very easy, they can also provide a recover for the bikes
the room was quiet, clean and perfect for two
I love to find places cool and friendly like this around

09/06/2025: Als "Wiederholungstäter" wurden wir auch diesmal wieder nicht enttäuscht.
Schöne Terrasse, schönes Lokal, netter und zuvorkommender Service und last but not least viel Gutes aus dem Meer und aus dem Keller.
Wenn man in der Umgebung ist, unbedingt ausprobieren.
Die Preise sind übrigens der Qualität entsprechend.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von sieben Personen
Und alle Speisen die serviert wurden waren einfach fantastisch . Das Thunfisch Tatar einfach lecker . Aber auch die Hauptspeisen einfach ein Traum .Mir viel die Auswahl richtig schwer,weil alle Gerichte auf der Karte sehr verlockend klingen . Empfehlen kann man auf jeden Fall das Risotto mit Meeresfrüchten ,aber auch das Rinderfilet war ein Gedicht . Wir kommen auf jeden Fall nächstes Jahr wieder wenn wir in Muggia sind .

10/03/2025: Di ritorno in questo locale dopo alcuni anni mi accorgo che purtroppo la buona impressione ricevuta la primo volta non viene confermata. Si puo' comprendere che due persone ,da sole, tra cucina e "sala" facciano fatica a gestire 5/6 tavoli ma il servizio è lentissimo...se entri con fame rischi di dover chiedere 3 volte il pane prima che arrivi qualcosa in tavola. Abbiamo mangiato un buonissimo primo piatto di gnocchi con gli scampi e due piatti di frittura di calamari molto elastici ...non mi sarei mai aspettato di vedere che gli stessi provengono da una busta del congelatore. Siamo al mare , il periodo è giusto ...se proprio dovete metterli congelati almeno scongelati a dovere e friggeteli come va fatto invece , purtroppo una delusione.
22/12/2024: Luogo perfetto. Ambiente accogliente e retrò, servizio ineccepibile e cibo ottimo. Cozze, pasta al granzoporo,gnocchi agli scampi e tocai. Sorbetto offerto. 56 euro ben spesi. Torneremo!!! Maoooo!

I have been a loyal customer for almost as long as I can remember (I am 74 years old) and today I was treated like a tramp by one of your employees and to think that more than one of my relatives worked for you even in Isola. I waited patiently for my turn but others who came after me were served first. When I remarked, she replied that she was serving and then I said that if I had to go home to order by phone and she replied to do as I wish. In Muggia and the surrounding area there are many good pastry shops. Goodbye

01/06/2025: Siamo stati alla cicchetteria per un aperitivo in una tranquilla domenica pomeriggio, una volta al tavolo il cameriere ci chiede L ordinazione, chiedo un succo di pomodoro che però pare non abbiano (bah chissà se avessi chiesto un bloody mary se la risposta sarebbe stata la stessa) così ordiniamo 4 aperitivi e 3 cicchetti, gli aperitivi arrivano senza nulla da spiluccare e dei cicchetti neanche l ombra, dopo 20 minuti arrivano i tre crostini, faccio notare al cameriere che eravamo l unico tavolo a cui non hanno portato nulla da spiluccare con gli aperitivi (a parte i crostini che avevamo ordinato) e si scusa riportando la mia lamentela dentro ma nonostante questo degli stuzzichini nulla così mi reco dentro dicendo che non mi sembrava corretto che il nostro tavolo non avesse lo stesso servizio di tutti gli altri e, con fare non proprio gentilissimo mi viene detto che avrò uno sconto per scusarsi sul conto…
Uno di noi si alza per pagare riportando chiaramente il numero del tavolo e non riceve alcuno sconto così mi reco dentro un altra volta e mi viene detto “eh beh cosa posso farci più che chiedere scusa ormai…”.
Ah e per la cronaca 4 Spritz (2 bianchi e 2 aperol) e 3 crostini 30,00 euro…

25/02/2025: The pizzas are very good and perfect for an impromptu lunch.
It's a shame for the lack of professionalism of the staff who prefer to talk to colleagues rather than pay attention to the customer; thus creating long waits for everyone.
I hope this gets fixed so I can change my opinion.
UPDATE
I don't know if they've changed the staff or simply lately I've been lucky with the shifts, but the staff has definitely improved (different people from those in the old review) and consequently I think it's right to update the review, great job!
