02/12/2025: It's an authentic trattoria, one that immediately conveys the warmth and tradition of local cuisine. Everything here is typical of the area and...even rarer...truly homemade. From the starters to the desserts, you can taste the care and passion in every dish 😍
Everything is delicious, but the ragù deserves a special mention; it's simply out of this world! Rich, flavorful, perfectly balanced...one of those sauces that alone is worth the visit.
If you're looking for a welcoming place where you can eat truly well, this is a surefire choice!

20/10/2025: The atmosphere is great, the service is excellent, the food is delicious, the lasagna is subpar, I didn't like the cutlet, the desserts are good.
The price is right.
20/10/2025: The negative service experience certainly isn't attributable to the waiters, but rather to the long wait for the main course.
We arrived at the restaurant around 1:00 PM:
The first courses were served almost immediately, while the second courses didn't arrive until around 3:10 PM, despite two reminders within two hours.
I understand the confusion and appreciate the apology, but it certainly wasn't a pleasant experience, especially since we had a return flight to Sicily and had to cancel our plans before our departure.
I certainly recommend the restaurant, but I also advise the restaurant owners to reserve fewer seats so as to accommodate the needs of the dining room without causing disruption to their customers.

11/10/2025: Thanks to Alexandra's great people skills and deep knowledge about pasta/food my family and I made wonderful lifelong memories of making pasta in Bologna Italy. It was truly a wonderful experience and a great dinner too. We made the tagliatelle and tortelloni pasta starting from flour and egg and the filling starting from ricotta and parmigiano reggiano. The final dishes, tortelloni with butter sage sauce (with sage leaves straight from the plant growing in the kitchen) and tagliatelle with ragù bolognese (and wine, if course), made an unforgettably wonderful dinner. If this wasn't enough, during the dinner we also had interesting and entertaining conversation with Alexandra. To top it all off, Alexandra emailed us very professionally written recipes of the food we made. It all was such a great experience. If any if this sounds like something you would enjoy, I highly recommend doing a pasta class at pasta lab.

14/11/2025: We were very hungry hotel has no food but hotel gave the info about S.Maria restaurant witch knows as truck drivers restaurant but it’s nothing to do with truck drivers of course lot of truck people pass by and stop to have dinner breakfast.but I can tell you we are not talking Italian fluent so it’s difficult to understand everything in the menu.A nice guy came and explained everything in the menu to us witch make our life very easy because we were very hungry and he is the owner “MERKO”.they deliver food very fast, tasty and unbelievable good price.we left this place with such happy feeling.see you one day again MERKO.

11/11/2025: REALLY UNPLEASANT STAFF
AND UNACCEPTABLE QUALITY/PRICE
We booked a table for four in the morning. We entered and were seated at a table right next to the wide-open front door, with a small screen next to it (which mattered practically nothing, since all the customers near us were dining in their jackets).
Once seated, the first thing we asked was if they could close the door because it was 17 degrees outside and very cold inside. The waitress's response was: "WE CAN'T ASK FOR THE DOOR BECAUSE WE HAVE TO COME IN AND OUT TO SERVE CUSTOMERS ON THE VERANDA." So, since they don't have a service door, we were all condemned to eating in the cold (with numerous complaints from all the customers).
We ordered 1 water, 1 beer, and a Coke (NO WINE) and: 1 ossobuco risotto,
3 portions of crescentine with cured meats, pickles, and squacquerone (the crescentine alone cost €60.00, plus €10.00 for cheese, and they were also meager, and the cured meats weren't even very good). But the biggest surprise was the ossobuco risotto: A VERY SIMPLE SAFFRON RISOTTO WITH A LITTLE KNIFE-CUT BRAISED BEEF (WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN ANY KIND OF MEAT SINCE IT WAS ALL MINCED). But the whole ossobuco with its marrow (a fundamental part of ossobuco risotto because the marrow must be mixed with the risotto, which offers a wonderful flavor) was not even a hint. When I asked for ossobuco and marrow, the waitress told me that they had run out of marrow, so I had to do without.
The only truly good thing at a reasonable price were the excellent desserts (the mango ice cream was excellent).
ICING ON THE CAKE: for 4 of us, without wine (because we are teetotalers), 3 portions of crescentine and a saffron risotto WITHOUT THE OSSOBUCO
TOTAL BILL... €146.00, INCLUDING €16 FOR COVER CHARGE (FURTHERMORE, WITHOUT A TABLECLOTH AND WITH THE CUTLERY PLACED ON THE WOODEN TABLE).
I judge as a professional restaurateur because I built and created a restaurant in the heart of Bologna that in 11 years has received several very important awards, so I would like to say to these amateurs, as a professional in the sector that for them this is the restaurant industry, they still have a lot to learn about how to treat customers and above all about cooking methods and the quality of the products in relation to the price.

Table for four, two couples.
The restaurant has the distinction of being a social trattoria, nestled in the Villa Pini park on Via del Carpentiere, behind the Unipol skyscraper.
Being Friday, November 7th, we dined inside due to the low temperatures, but there are plenty of tables outside, making it perfect for the warmer months.
The atmosphere is rustic and clean, free of kitchen odors. A young man, Fabrizio, welcomed us and introduced us to the restaurant, introducing the new menu, full of interesting dishes.
We opted for a small platter of cold cuts/cheeses with crescentine. Excellent! Soft, not very greasy, tasty, very good cold cuts, accompanied by friggione, which had been simmering for hours, excellent.
While sampling the first courses, we ordered four different ones. Classic lasagna, excellent. Cacio e pepe tortelloni, crispy guanciale, fantastic! Roasted potato, pumpkin, and friggione ravioli, sweet for the onion, excellent. Gorgonzola gnocchi, creamy, excellent.
For the main course, we didn't hold back. For two, we stuck to the classics for a test of the Bolognese cutlet. It passed, perfectly made, thank goodness, without the cream that's so common in restaurants these days, plentiful and excellent, served with baked potatoes. The knife-cut tartare, with a classic dressing, excellent, served on a bed of mixed salad. The tagliata, ordered medium rare (perfectly cooked), tender and tasty, served with sautéed mushrooms on the side.
Desserts, only two. A cream ice cream, excellent, and a zuppa inglese, devoured.
Toward the end of dinner, Federico, Fabrizio's colleague, showed up in the dining room and asked how the dinner went, walking around the tables. We confirmed the excellent dinner and the excellent service from the girl who accompanied us for the evening, our dishes.
Absolutely reasonable, considering the quality, quantity, and price.
Just under €39 per person, with two bottles of wine—a Prosecco and a Merlot—plus two complimentary coffees and liqueurs.
We'll definitely be back. A place "just beyond" the ring road, surrounded by greenery, with ample parking.
Well done! Everyone! From the dining room to the kitchen.
I apologize if you don't have any photos, but between chatting and hunger, we forgot about it.

10/12/2025: A simple and welcoming place. The service is a bit hit or miss, but that's perfectly acceptable given that the place is always very busy.
It's busy, but that doesn't change the quality of the food.
The tortellini are superb! The tagliatelle with ragù is excellent, tender and flavorful. The fries are superb, as are the zucchini.
The pizza is also excellent: thin, crispy, tasty, and well-filled.
The coffee affogato is also good, a simple cream ice cream, but not a run-of-the-mill treat.
I recommend this restaurant for any occasion, from a business lunch to a dinner with friends celebrating an anniversary.
Excellent value for money, the owners and staff are kind and helpful.
25/11/2025: Well-appointed location, shame about the bathrooms that, unfortunately, due to rude people, leave them dirty without any restraint for those who have to clean them, I've been here a couple of times, I tried some first courses and they weren't bad at all, compliments to those who cook them, the marinara pizza wasn't bad except for that addition of spicy oil, the schiacciatina wasn't really schiacciatina but never mind, I hope that the pizza chef will catch us sooner or later with the pizza or schiacciatina for me, maybe a little drier for me if that's possible, anyway good, the waiter I know is difficult to do especially having to be patient with certain people who are not satisfied or who complain too much, anyway good they too, the price is right for what we got as a group

14/12/2025: The restaurant takes its name from the town's historic mill, just steps from the old walls.
Surrounded by antique utensils, we're immediately immersed in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The menu is extensive, featuring traditional Bolognese dishes of excellent quality: the fried tortellini are delicious, as are the mixed platter and tagliatelle with meat sauce. Attentive and friendly service, and the price is reasonable.
06/11/2025: Extremely good food, everything homemade and you can taste it, generous portions, friendly and professional waiters. I'm from Piedmont, but if I were to return, I would definitely eat here.
