La Capriata In Bologna

Excellent restaurant with an extensive gluten-free menu. I tried the charcuterie board with excellent homemade gluten-free bread, lasagna, and a zabaglione cake. Prices aren't cheap, but the quality is average to high!

They offered every single pasta on the menu (including the stuffed pastas) as gluten free! It was so good I got two pastas. The sauces were fresh and flavorful. I would highly recommend for celiac and non-celiacs. Their rating should be higher.

Hidden away on a quiet street in Bologna, La Capriata is a 100% gluten-free gem. The ragù with Parmigiano was incredible—authentic, generous, and completely safe. They also have gluten-free Peroni beer and Aperol. Around €32 per person, including water, coffee, and an aperitif, is great value for a fully dedicated gluten-free restaurant. One downside: a €4 supplement per gluten-free dish, which feels unfair for those of us who have no choice. Everything else was a 10/10. The food was amazing! Homemade gluten-free pasta—I think the prices are justified for that. The restaurant is very hidden, and it took me several tries to find it. The service was excellent and they were also very friendly to tourists. I would definitely come back!

Delicious tagliatelle, and the Aperol is also very good. Gluten-free pasta is prepared on a separate, specially marked table. I recommend it.

Absolutely amazing staff, we went here 3 nights for specifically gluten feee options. 3rd time and last night in Bologna we came only for the tiramisu as it’s amazing!! Ciara was a gem and ordered a taxi for us as we haven’t had the best luck with taxis. Overall delicious food and great staff, highly recommend this place!

The place is right in the center but very quiet, very well-kept spaces, very kind staff and amazing food.
