18/07/2026: I was lucky enough to stumble upon this corner of Matera. Relaxing atmosphere, generous portions, and a more than reasonable price. A true osteria, where the customer is first a guest and then a source of income.

25/07/2026: On Monday evening, July 20th, we celebrated our wedding vows here at Talpa, and we couldn't have chosen a better place!!! ;) The location is truly enchanting, nestled in the splendid setting of our Sassi di Matera, filled with fairy lights, music, and dancing that created a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. At just the right moments, we even got to hit the dance floor and let loose!!! ;) The Talpa team was extraordinary... from the wonderful owner Donatella, to our dear chef, to the talented and friendly waiters... they were all impeccable, professional, kind, welcoming, and attentive, and even extended their closing day to allow us to celebrate. Furthermore, they served us delicious and abundant food... the chef was so skilled at turning simple dishes into true delights for our palates that we asked for several seconds; all our guests were amazed and super satisfied. We thank Talpa again with all our hearts for making our day unforgettable!!! ;) Raffaello and Ezia

10/04/2026: We tried tagliolini al melone (buttery, creamy with a slight sweetness pasta dish), filetto di maialino lardellato e funghi (pork was juicy and tender and the mushrooms cooked to perfection), baccalà alla lucana (flaky salted cod with a mild sweet flavour paired with well-seasoned potatoes) and the lasagna bolognese (an Italian classic that didn’t disappoint). Everything was delicious! The menu changes every day. Highly recommended.

04/04/2026: Excellent food quality and excellent management. Please note that the plastic used in containers is sometimes unsuitable for takeout, especially if the food is still at high temperatures. Also be aware of any plastic fragments in the food. The plastic in ready-made meals can become a problem, especially when exposed to heat. It is not completely inert: it can release small amounts of chemicals, such as bisphenols or other additives, which end up in the food. This happens especially when heating the dish in the microwave or when the contents are very hot. In the short term, nothing noticeable happens, but the key is repeated exposure over time: some of these substances are considered endocrine disruptors, meaning they can alter hormonal balance if accumulated. Furthermore, with wear or high temperatures, plastic can degrade and even release microfragments. Therefore, the risk is not the individual ready-made dish, but the daily habit, especially if it is heated directly in the plastic. For example, containers made of food cardboard or cellulose fiber (such as bagasse, derived from sugar cane) are very common: they are safer than plastic.

21/07/2026: Terrible experience. I waited for half an hour while the staff (four people behind the counter) chatted calmly. They served their acquaintances and several tourists first, completely ignoring my presence with utter apathy. When I was finally served, the quality was poor: burnt coffee and sour croissant cream. The place was also very dirty, with tables and floors neglected despite the staff having plenty of time to clean. Kindness and professionalism here are selective: they only serve friends and tourists, probably to mop up positive reviews, while local customers are treated like invisible. I won't be returning. I strongly advise against it.

10/05/2026: I was in Matera 3 days. The restaurant was never open and the doors locked. On the street level there was a large menu board and a few tables but it looks like they are closed at least temporary. No signs that say they are closed but it sure looks that way.

08/09/2025: The sea 🌊 the 🌞 sun, tranquility, in a comfortable, clean, family-friendly environment and a golden sandy beach to enjoy the silence of the Lucanian land at an exceptional price/quality. It's a shame summer is over. We look forward to 2026. Great preparation by the owner Angelo 😇 and all his truly exceptional staff. The seaside restaurant 🌊 is also a gem worth trying and not to be missed.

07/09/2025: Wonderful beach. We stayed at the Oasi for a week in September and were welcomed and treated with courtesy and kindness. The staff were friendly and helpful, the prices were fair, the location was crystal-clear, the beach clean and well-maintained, and the restaurant served a limited but delicious menu! A 10/10 experience in Basilicata.

04/06/2026: I recommend it!!! We ordered 1 appetizer (cheese trio), main course rustic pasta (well-served and plentiful) and dessert tiramisu (which for me was the highlight! I had never tasted one so good! You choose your food and order at the counter. When it's ready, you pick it up yourself at the counter, which wasn't a problem for me at all, as it lowers the cost and makes it more affordable. Wonderful.

15/07/2026: Terrible experience... Recommended for those who want to settle for poor food. Standard appetizers (zero quality)... some courses were missing, compared to the table next door; second courses... an overcooked sliced ​​steak, an overcooked mixed roast, both of very poor quality. The table wasn't always in the shade, so when the sun came out it was uncomfortably hot... Friendly staff. Absolutely not to be repeated.
