This trattoria was so incredible! We got to try multiple traditional foods from the region family style. The staff were friendly and made us feel like family.

A magnificent little restaurant that immediately stands out for the high-quality, locally sourced products it uses. The dishes offered are traditional local dishes, revisited and crafted with exceptional care and love. Even the desserts, completely original, are the result of this philosophy of the young owner and chef, who enhances their quality with the famous "Stigliano pistachio," a local delicacy. The prices are fair and commensurate with the high quality of the products. Excellent!!

Welcoming place. Luciano and his staff were extremely kind and attentive to every need. We had the honor of having lunch on a rather busy day as the Carnival float parade was underway. They recommended the rafanata, a truly delicious traditional Stigliano Carnival dish. I hope to return soon. Everything else about the lunch was top-notch. 👍 Thank you.

25/07/2026: On Monday evening, July 20th, we celebrated our wedding vows here at Talpa, and we couldn't have chosen a better place!!! ;) The location is truly enchanting, nestled in the splendid setting of our Sassi di Matera, filled with fairy lights, music, and dancing that created a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. At just the right moments, we even got to hit the dance floor and let loose!!! ;) The Talpa team was extraordinary... from the wonderful owner Donatella, to our dear chef, to the talented and friendly waiters... they were all impeccable, professional, kind, welcoming, and attentive, and even extended their closing day to allow us to celebrate. Furthermore, they served us delicious and abundant food... the chef was so skilled at turning simple dishes into true delights for our palates that we asked for several seconds; all our guests were amazed and super satisfied. We thank Talpa again with all our hearts for making our day unforgettable!!! ;) Raffaello and Ezia

Everything was simply extraordinary: impeccable organization, attention to every detail, elegance, professionalism, and a care that made us feel truly supported at every moment. A special thank you goes to Maria Teresa, who accompanied us from start to finish with rare kindness, patience, and availability. She was by our side every step of the way, always present, attentive, and ready to reassure us. Thanks to her, we were able to experience our wedding with serenity and happiness, stress-free, and feeling truly pampered. The entire staff contributed to making that day unforgettable, but Maria Teresa will forever be one of the people who made the magic we experienced possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for turning our dream into something even more beautiful than we could have imagined.
