30/10/2025: A very nice place, located close to the historic center of Matera, near the entrance to the pedestrian area; typical local architecture, tastefully decorated, clean, and quite spacious. The staff is welcoming and friendly, young and well-trained. They quickly seat you and introduce you to the house specialties. The menu features a variety of typical dishes from Matera, including pignata and pignatella. The wine list is good. The ingredients are good. The dishes, well-prepared and presented, in my opinion, the "more elaborate" ones lack a distinctive touch that would highlight their authenticity. The cheese selection is excellent, and the appetizers are good overall. I had the opportunity to try the pignatella; it's a dish that needs to be savored with patience 🌬️. I really liked the flavor. I would have liked a little more meat and even a few pieces of sausage in addition to the crumbled one, but it was still very good. I really enjoyed dipping the dough that serves as the lid for the pignata into the broth at the end. For dessert, we tried the "sporcamusso," which was also delicious: delicate puff pastry, a soft creamy filling with balanced flavors. The only flaw was that the pastry was quite warm, while the creamy filling was cold, even lukewarm. But at that hour, it was nice not to get your face dirty with boiling cream. The quality/price ratio was decent, within the limits of what the market offers, but overall, the place has room for improvement. I will return to try the Pignata. Overall, I recommend going, especially in the evening. Given the proximity to the historic center, after eating, a stroll along the main street of Matera by night was a pleasant experience.

01/11/2025: We ate very well. The platter they gave us was very generous. There were four of us, and the platter for two was more than enough. The starters weren't very generous at first glance, but they filled us up in the end. The waiter was very kind, and the service was very efficient. The atmosphere was very beautiful, typical of Matera. The path to the Tibetan Bridge is nearby. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

She's a delightful person, very approachable, extremely knowledgeable about everything, very professional, and incredibly friendly. 🤭 We can only compliment Maitre Walter, who was so attentive to every moment; he even "sequestered" us at our table so we could eat at least one course the entire day. This truly touched us, because he showed a level of thoughtfulness we'd never seen before. Our compliments to the chef, he has golden hands. Whatever he cooks comes to life. Every single dish we tasted, every single one we ate, well, left you speechless. Every ingredient was perfectly proportioned, and even things we don't eat or like every day had a completely different flavor when cooked by him. Sublime. Everything was magically sublime! 27/09/2025: We came to this restaurant/trattoria on the recommendation of some friends in Maratea. It's an unpretentious location. They offer a set menu that includes drinks, and it's not bad at all. The staff are friendly, if sometimes pushy, and the ingredients are good. The prices are average. An experience worth having.

26/08/2025: I couldn't help but leave a review for this place: absolutely recommended if you're in the area. The food was excellent; we had a few appetizers (leek cream soup, truffle egg, and giardiniera), all truly exceptional, and a first course (both excellent). The waitress was super attentive, kind, and very helpful. I also recommend it to anyone (like me) who is lactose intolerant and/or vegetarian: there are several options, and you'll enjoy your meal to the fullest, without any problems. Absolutely top marks!

16/10/2025: We loved it here! One of our favorite restaurants in Italy; probably the best. The waiter and chef worked with us to plan our menu (our Italian skills were... eh) and they made sure we ended up with food choices that were good for us and the whole nice was a great success.

06/10/2025: It's worth deviating a bit from the main road for the best panini we've had in Italy. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the tiramisu made by the owner is one of the best we've had in the region. Definitely a place worth recommending :)

02/11/2025: For the first time, I came to Pomarico, a stone's throw from Matera, for work, and on the recommendation of some acquaintances, I was directed to this restaurant. I couldn't have given better advice. The food is truly excellent. The veal tagliata is spectacular, with a side of country-style potatoes. Even though one of the house specialties is horse meat, whose cuts are processed in various ways, including the diaphragm, which is very difficult to find, both for veal and horse. The only flaw, if I may say so, but it's not so much a criticism as a recommendation, especially since I stand by the five-star rating, is the bottle of Primitivo di Manduria. It can't be served chilled; it's blasphemy. Otherwise, everything else was excellent. I hope to return. Highly recommended. See you next time.
