10/08/2025: A hidden gem next to the Trevi Fountain: Quirino Restaurant Sometimes, Rome gives you moments that seem like they're written in a movie script. We arrived today from Barcelona, where I live, because I wanted my aunt Myriam, recently arrived from Colombia, to experience this beautiful and spectacular city. My aunt Miriam and I were walking, enjoying the eternal charm of the Trevi Fountain, when, a few meters away, we ran into Emma. With a bright smile and a friendliness that invites you to follow her, she led us to her family's restaurant: Quirino. Founded in 1959 by her grandfather—who arrived from Sicily with his brother, carrying recipes and dreams—this place exudes tradition. It's not just a restaurant; it's a living piece of Roman and Sicilian history. Within its walls, fresh pasta is not a fad, but a legacy passed down from generation to generation. The restaurant's decor itself is part of the experience: every corner tells a story, showing how Quirino has adapted to each era and every life without losing his essence. It's like walking into a memory album where the walls hold the memories of all these years. We ate a delicious Carbonara with its spectacular guanchale and freshly made pasta, and some finger-licking taglietelle al ragu. They also gave us a piece of freshly baked apple pie, which Emma says is her mother's recipe that they are trying to replicate with one of the chefs! It must be said that it was delicious! It was then that we met Elisabetta, Emma's mother, who shared a story that left us speechless: her mother—Emma's grandmother—made a cannoli so extraordinary that Pope John Paul II was captivated by its flavor, making it his birthday cake year after year. And the surprise didn't end there. Chatting with Elisabetta, we discovered we had many things in common: her daughter is studying dentistry in Madrid, but her passion is the restaurant; my husband is a dentist, and so is his. So many coincidences made us feel at home, as if we had known each other all our lives. Our experience was simply fantastic: the warm service, the welcoming atmosphere, the aromas that enveloped the room, and, of course, the flavors… Each dish felt like a hug. We left feeling like we had experienced something unique. Quirino is not just a restaurant: it's a journey back in time, a bridge between Sicily and Rome, a place where stories are told through food… and even the walls have something to say. If you are lucky enough to be in the Eternal City, don't pass up the opportunity to experience it. We wholeheartedly recommend it. Tatty and Myriam.

06/08/2025: Carbonara is so-so...old-school atmosphere, but professional and knowledgeable waiters. Prices are reasonable for being right next to the Trevi Fountain.

19/08/2025: A great time with the family. Everything is fresh and the food is very good. Reasonably priced. Worth a visit if you want to eat in a traditional setting, easy to access with parking. They also speak French. I recommend it.

16/08/2025: We booked for the evening of Ferragosto on the terrace, and unfortunately... a storm hit! The staff quickly resolved the issue, finding us a place indoors and managing to move us (and the other two couples affected by the bad weather) to other tables with a view as soon as possible. A charming place, efficient and meticulous service, and a dinner worth repeating. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about both the flavor pairings and the wine. The lake appetizer, trout, and pizzoccheri were all delicious. 100% recommended.

15/08/2025: This is the best restaurant anywhere near Lake Como. Food/wine- incredible. Atmosphere/views- incredible. Service- incredible. A worker who answered the phone personally picked us up in Bellagio to take us to the restaurant because we missed the shuttle. Maybe the best restaurant I’ve ever been on vacation.

17/08/2025: Very good coffee and ice cream. If you're craving some unusual combinations (like espresso in ice cream), no problem.

15/08/2025: This was the best restaurant we've ever eaten in all of Sicily. The homemade bread was spectacular. The atmosphere was breathtaking. A lot of love and passion went into it. Highly recommended.

19/07/2025: Beautiful restaurant/pizzeria in the Brembana Valley, impeccable service, very friendly staff, and fair prices. The pizza is delicious.

15/07/2025: Seafood dinner with friends. The scallops were excellent, truly excellent. The mixed grilled fish was good. The fries were plentiful. The grilled meat was also excellent! The wine recommended by Mario himself was spectacular!!! Average prices. I'll be back!

07/07/2025: The evening didn't start in the best way, unfortunately: we are a family celebrating the birthdays of 3 out of four members. One of us is vegetarian. After having made sure at the time of booking that there was a vegetarian menu, we went. When the menus were delivered, however, we realized that there was no real menu with vegetarian choices, only two dishes (cappellacci and passatelli) that could have been. After having spoken to more than one waiter, in the end they informed the owner - who was sitting at another table - who said out loud and nonchalantly that he had forgotten. (Ah. Very good). After a few moments of no waiters, a third one arrives and asks for the order again. Let's report the situation again. He was the only one who took care of resolving the mix-up. A note of merit goes to him: he tried to do everything possible to make the evening pleasant, looking for solutions that could meet everyone's approval. He offered a final spirit and one of the two bottles we had consumed, he made sure that the service was impeccable. We had an appetizer of pinzini and we accompanied it with cheeses and burrata as an alternative to the stracchino that they didn't have: well made and fresh cheeses. Let's ignore the fact that the vegetarian dish arrived with a slice of crispy bacon on top, for the rest the orecchiette with swordfish were very good, the seafood salad too and the mixed fried food was well fried with a nice crispy batter and not greasy. Although from the outside it looks like a village bar, inside the rooms are well-kept and there is air conditioning. There are tablecloths and cloth overtablecloths, the chairs are plastic but comfortable. The food is of excellent quality, it's not the first time I've been there and it confirms this once again. The restaurant has become increasingly well-known and a table for four people will not bring profit to the place, but I would have expected that at least the owner would have shown up at the table with an apology or at least alternatives instead of avoiding us for the whole evening. Mistakes happen and it is not mandatory to provide alternatives to the menu you offer. But if you confirm a service upon request you cannot wash your hands of it when it is not actually provided.

10/08/2025: It's a must-see when we're in those parts, excellent pistachio ice cream, never tasted anything like it, but the highlight for me is always the diplomatico, delicious.

02/08/2025: Lately, the atmosphere has been lost, with everyone visibly nervous and rude (especially the one who complains in front of customers about other employees who, he says, aren't working well, which is unprofessional and should never be done; but overall, there's a lack of kindness, tense faces, nervous gestures). The excellent specialties are worth the visit, but people also go to a bar to find a good mood and relaxation; if I enter with a smile and leave feeling bad, something hasn't worked. I hope to find a better atmosphere next time. Edit: I even tried to be polite, avoiding pointing out certain things, but the owner's response gives away his attitude toward customers.

05/09/2025: Good gluten-free first courses and quality second courses. Appetizers are mediocre and expensive. Prices are a bit higher than average.

17/08/2025: A business lunch on a hot summer day, but the location refreshed both body and soul. A quaint place, very reminiscent of a mountain hut. Excellent service, and the wild boar-filled cappellacci and the beef fillet with porcini mushrooms were excellent. Recommended.

24/08/2025: I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years and the owner Domenica guarantees and maintains a high level of cuisine and service. The menu varies from Tigelle and gnocco to first and second courses of a high quality. Compliments to Domenica and her staff.

12/08/2025: Excellent place, I highly recommend trying this pizzeria. We tried several pizzas, and none of them disappointed. The bread dough is very light, the quality of the ingredients is excellent, and the pizzas are all balanced in flavor. I recommend trying the "i fiordi" pizza. The service is exceptional, with constant attention and cleanliness. Very nice and easily accessible place. On weekends, it's best to start a little earlier to try and get a table. The price was excellent for what we ordered. The total cost for four pizzas, an appetizer, three bottles of water, and limoncello for three people was between €20-25. Highly recommended.

06/08/2025: Excellent pizza, quality ingredients, but the air recycling system is not very adequate, perhaps due to the proximity of the kitchen, we have been there several times and returned home with clothes soaked in fried food, otherwise everything is excellent
