05/07/2025: Passi che ho ordinato la pizza alle 19:00, consegna richiesta alle 20:00, indicata alle 20:30 e ricevuta alle 21:10… ma con la casa a 200 mt dalla pizzeria che arrivi fredda e con impasto crudo no vi prego, questo no… sono cliente da oltre 5 anni, non chiedo favori ma se uno aspetta oltre il dovuto almeno che arrivi calda e cotta…

10/06/2025: A wonderful place! We spent 3 nights here and found everything we needed for a perfect short break. Everyone is not just friendly, but welcoming; the hosts are excellent, both in the hotel and in the restaurant. Nature surrounds the property, the large saltwater pool is well-maintained, and the restaurant is excellent. Everything is spotlessly clean and exudes the charm of its era, as can be seen in the pictures. The view from the balcony stretches from the sea between the treetops to a giant wisteria tree that canopies the restaurant. We had a great rest and, thanks to the friendly welcome, felt at home in no time. A full 5 stars because you get everything as described. A 5-minute walk takes you to the bus to Muggia and/or from there, a 10-minute ferry ride to Trieste. Just a heads-up for people like us who like to leave the car parked...

05/06/2025: It's very pleasant to stay overnight at Hotel Sole, the staff is more than kind and you can feel as been at home We joined the spot by bike and was very easy, they can also provide a recover for the bikes the room was quiet, clean and perfect for two I love to find places cool and friendly like this around

31/05/2025: The best bakery in Trieste 🤩 delicious croissants (many options - pistaccio, chocolate, vanilla, vegan), bagels with vegetables, focaccia, etc. Great coffee. Self service, you can sit inside or take your food to the terrace. Very friendly staff. It is a must visit in Trieste.

20/06/2025: Our last evening at Mare Pineta, we wanted to go close and to try out Trattoria da Gino and got a huge deception. We ordered mussels as antipasti and got it together with all the other plates. Mussels arrived cold and with a strong unpleasant fishy smell. We also had mixed fish grill, a branzino fish and milanesa with pommes. All the plates were missing the taste, spices and salt. Throughout the eating nobody came to ask if everything was all right. We looked ourselves for salt, to make the plates eatable. We tried to eat and to enjoy it, but there was actually no way. Also, we wanted to order fussili with ragu for the children, but the waitress told us, there is no fussili anymore. We asked for linguine or spaghetti, she said, sorry, there is no pasta at all. Very strange. The neighbour tables had linguine brought to the table, so how come we couldn't get no pasta for children and hat to order untasty milanesa with pommes. All together we paid 93 euros (mussels got of the invoice), but still lot to pay, for no taste at all. The one good thing though is the nice garden and all the playground for the children. That was nice, but only this. What a bad memory for the last evening here in Sistiana.

20/06/2025: Do you want to eat really bad food and have a really bad experience? Yes, then you have to come to Trattoria da Gino. Warm white wine. Smelly fish (rotten?). The Milanese without salt. They bring you the food cold. You have to wait almost an hour to eat. The service is terrible. A Milanese without salt costs €15, a cold grilled mixed fish dish €24, a warm house white wine €16, a cold, smelly grilled fish €25, a fusilli with Bolognese sauce was not available, but it was on the menu. The cover costs €2.50, and a half-liter of sparkling water is €3.50... a rip-off no matter how you look at it. Dear people, do not come to this place! They don't know how to cook, and they don't know how to serve.

06/07/2025: We recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. We ordered directly from the table and could clearly see that our food was already ready on the counter, but it took them over 40 minutes to serve it, without any explanation. The food was there, but they did not bring it to the table, even though we asked several times politely. They also charged us €6.50 for each beer, which were not even cold, which is unacceptable for that price. They also charged us extra for cutlery, without telling us in advance. The service was distant and unprofessional, and we had the distinct impression that the customer was not a priority at all. We will not return and we do not recommend this place, especially considering that in Italy there are many other options where you are treated with respect and courtesy.

06/07/2025: Terrible service. The food had been ready for 40 minutes on the counter and they didn't bother to bring it to the table. The beers, at €6.50 each, were warm. Plus, they made us pay for the cutlery. Total disorganization, rudeness and no respect for the customer. Never again.

08/07/2025: Disappointing to say the least, despite the older reviews giving praise we did not see the more recent ones that reflect current reality. The service was inexcusably bad and the food was below average with okay presentation. Service started with us arriving for our reservation for three people, then being directed to a table to 2, with the waitress then clumsily adding a placing to the table looking flustered as though she didn’t know how to set it. Menus were brought 5-10 minutes after being seated and was missing the drinks menu. Having tried to look for a waiter to ask for one, it was another 5mins before anyone entered the dining room where they came to take our food order without prompting drinks. We finally ordered both. Eventually a red wine came when we ordered white, the waiter insinuated we were wrong. When we asked him to bring back the menu and showed him the bottle we ordered he learned they had two bottles from the same vineyard on a fairly limited wine menu this wasn’t great. Bread was then served without any butter or oil despite asking it never came. Laughably when the starters were served and one of our party had a salad, they asked for vinegarette to which the staff responded by bringing a bottle of balsamic and oil in their full sized original shop bought packaging. Not what you would expect at any half decent restaurant. The rest of the service was so poor we decided to leave after our entres and get desert at local gelato spot. Atmosphere, quiet without any music and bright lighting made for a somber environment. Food, there was a lot of effort but the flavours and combinations didn’t work well. Meals were left under heat lamps too long as they had formed a skin on sauces etc. My starter fish sashimi dish still had the skin left on one edge which made it chewy, I left it after one bite as it was off putting. No staff member asked why or whether I was okay, they just took it away before the entres. Again, very inexperienced service. It’s sad to see this place must have lost its staff to have been so different to older reviews. I wouldn’t recommend going back until you see more positive recent reviews. I certainly wouldn’t recommend.

15/05/2025: The atmosphere is very nice but the aperitif was terrible, the offer is really poor and moreover they put the sauces directly on the nachos without worrying that a person could be intolerant. I'm sorry but I won't be back.
