12/07/2025: An unexpectedly perfect stop. After exiting the highway, we found this restaurant in a secluded and quiet area, meticulously maintained down to the smallest detail. We were a family and were impressed by the staff's ability to welcome even the youngest guests with attentiveness and discretion, without ever compromising the elegant and tranquil atmosphere of the restaurant. The cuisine is refined, with a focus on quality ingredients and seasonality, offering balanced and flavorful dishes. The wine selection is also excellent, with original and well-recommended options. We're happy we stopped here: an experience that transformed a simple stop on a road trip into a truly special moment.

10/07/2025: A charming place located in the Piacenza hills where you can eat well and cheaply. The welcoming reception staff deserves special mention, as does the food that satisfies even the most discerning palates, with a wide selection of local and international wines. The very welcoming staff greets you with a smile. The food was more than plentiful. It's worth a visit, and I highly recommend it.

26/07/2025: Siamo stati in questo locale e abbiamo ordinato il tagliere degli affettati per due persone, ma purtroppo è stata una delusione. A salvarsi solo il crudo e la mortadella, mentre il resto era di qualità davvero scarsa – il prosciutto sembrava peggio dei prodotti da supermercato. Considerando che siamo a Piacenza, terra di salumi eccellenti, ci si aspetterebbe molto di più. Anche i primi piatti non ci hanno convinto: porzioni nella media, ma sapore e qualità sotto le aspettative. Rapporto qualità-prezzo decisamente non giustificato. Non credo ci torneremo.

29/07/2025: I've been frequenting this excellent restaurant for at least a quarter of a century...and it's always a pleasure to return, for the hospitality and the quality of the food. The family management, which has continued for decades now, from grandparents to daughters to granddaughters, is exemplary. A short climb above Mezzano Scotti also offers a remarkable view of the Trebbia Valley. The final destination is worth every hairpin bend you take to get there. Highly recommended.

25/07/2025: Lovely reception by staff. Immaculate garden and dont be surprised to find the same quality in their cocktails, wines and food. Kids friendly in the restaurant, staff is the cherry on the cake. Speaks many languages, including duck... had a blast!

10/07/2025: We had a delicious gelato here during our visit to the beautiful town of Castell'Arquato. The ice cream parlor is tucked away along Via Sforza Caolzio. A very friendly young woman helped us and we struck up a conversation in Italian. She also gave us a tip on where we could eat that evening with live music and a beautiful view. That's how we ended up in Vernasca, where we had a wonderful evening. In short, we love Baiocc Gelato Lovers for the excellent service...and did I mention the gelato is delicious?!

31/07/2025: Hemos seguido al propietario a través de un par de restaurantes porque hace un buen trabajo. El menú es muy tradicional Piacenza, incluyendo tortelli, trippa y asino, algunos de los cuales ya no son tan comunes. En su mayoría somos vegetarianos, por lo que lo mantuvimos IT ligero con tortelli y un flan di verdura, además de una copa del Gutturnio local. También partimos un zabaglione de postre que era lo real. La decoración es revoltijo rústico, con un poco de arte moderno entretenido malo. El personal no podría haber sido más amable.

22/07/2025: One-day visit to Piacenza. For lunch, we decided on this osteria, just steps from the center and the tourist trails, popular primarily with locals. The place is well-presented, welcoming, and tastefully decorated. The person who welcomed and served us (the older lady) was both professional and friendly...an added bonus. The table settings were simple but pleasant. We didn't order wine, but if you do, you'll enjoy it in the traditional bowls. Before ordering, she brought us some lard blended with parsley and some delicious bread. We ordered pisarei e fasò (a type of pasta with beans), Piacenza tortelli with butter and sage, and then two sbrisolone, one with warm zabaglione cream. These are traditional Piacenza dishes. We enjoyed their simplicity, and the dessert was the highlight. The quality/price ratio was fair.
