Not exactly central, it still has an outdoor space where you can eat in the shade and enjoy the view of the ancient walls of Spello. The dishes are tasty and the portions generous. The strigoli with cherry tomatoes, the sliced ​​meat with rosemary and the wild herbs sautéed in the pan are good. Fast and friendly service.

03/04/2024: We had dinner there two evenings and, on both occasions, we had a very, very, very good time. The place is welcoming and decidedly pleasing to the eye. All the staff proved helpful, kind and (above all) prepared. The dishes, cooked with taste and balance, were definitely appreciated by all of us, to the point that the youngest of the company said: "Exquisite!"

28/04/2024: The place is very nice but it would need some more attention... we asked the waitress some information about the dishes and she couldn't answer us.... she didn't even seem to work there.... well... anyway, the mess with cake to the very tasty text; the spaghetti cacio e pepe with black truffle were good but the truffle was n.p. , the pork fillet with caramelized onion and Montefalco reduction was dry and extremely overcooked.... let's say I expected more but sometimes clothes don't make Monaco... it's a shame because we looked for a place a little out of the way so as not to encounter the classic tourist menu...

06/04/2024: “Menu a Sorpesa” is a great concept which transforms a meal into a real experience, and here it was for a very fair and decent price. We enjoyed all the dishes served. We loved the informal atmosphere as well as the unique, eclectic design. We felt right at home in this family run eating place and want to give special thanks to Filippo for his friendliness and hospitality. We highly recommend Osteria del Matto at Piazza del Mercato in Spoleto. If you can’t find it there, just ask locals as we did:)

15/01/2024: Für ein Abendessen waren wir wiederum in der Caciosteria Umbra in Riva Trigoso bei Sestri Levante. Dieses Restaurant in einfach fantastisch, wunderbare hochwertige Speisen mit Produkten aus Umbrien und der Toskana, die ganze Speisekarte ist sehr zu empfehlen, daneben hat es eine herrliche Weinauswahl vor allem mit wunderbaren Weine aus Umbrien zB Dionigi und Moretti und die Gastfreundschaft ist herzlich und riesig. Gerne kommen wir ganz bald wieder!

25/05/2024: Read raving reviews about this place and the crowd, so I came early to be the first few customers at the opening for lunch. The menu is seasonal and changes based on the freshest ingredients they can get. I ordered the grilled lamb and a glass of the local Orvieto Classico. Everything is PERFECT! The bread is perfect too! So delicious that even though I was so full from just the main course, I can't help but have another slice! The grilled lamb chop is the best I've ever had from anywhere in the world (other than the freshly grilled whole lamb in Mongolia)! The lamb was perfectly grilled, it has a crunch on the outside (like roast pork) so when you bite into it, the fat crackles but still very tender on the inside. The fragrant lamb fats ooze with each bite! It was paired simply with sour purple cabbage. You know it's pure good food when it doesn't need much fancy stuff. Marination was just right, not salty at all and you taste the lamb perfectly. Heavenly deliziosa! I wish I had a stomach for more but will have to save it for next time!

01/04/2024: I experienced the stay as continuous stress due to the lack of organization and little professional ethics in administrative management (online estimate), little transparency for the guest. He did not issue an invoice or receipt.

27/03/2024: Charming hotel in an easy to reach location with a good breakfast. The WiFi was good and necessary as the walls were thick and cell service didn’t work. The grounds were beautiful. The pool was not open in March, but looked inviting. I didn’t try the restaurant as I met friends staying with a tour group. My only complaint was that the cleaning staff threw away my plastic cup and shower cap each day. There were others, but this seemed wasteful. I should have asked at the desk to not have my room cleaned every day.
