07/01/2025: Beautiful location but food not up to par

03/01/2025: We stayed at the cardinal's inn located in a historic building in the center of Assisi. The location is very elegant and particular. We opted for the "Incontri" tasting menu paired with a bottle of local wine, a high-level culinary experience, everything exquisite and with attention to the smallest details, even the presentation. The passion of the chefs could be felt in their dishes, I hope they get a Michelin star because they deserve it all. The staff were very kind and professional, careful to satisfy our every little request. At the end of lunch we visited the cellar and the ruins of the palace with the historical mosaics. It was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

24/02/2024: I just heard that the restaurant has decided to close at the moment. I'm so sorry, it was a regular stop for us every time we were in the area. The quality, the kindness, the view were so relaxing that we felt like we were at the home of friends. 💛

28/11/2023: Una trattoria vecchia maniera dove fanno da padroni i primi e la carne. Provare le tagliatelle ai funghi che sono eccezionali. Antipasto della casa abbondante e con selezione di affettati, formaggi e bruschette vario e roba non da supermercato. Ottimo come qualità prezzo.

31/12/2024: After a beautiful walk, starting from the station (about 45 minutes) we arrived in the ancient part of this beautiful village. The place and the staff are very welcoming, the food is very good and cared for. We had 3 appetizers (scrambled eggs with truffles, appetizer of local cheeses and cured meats and trout and pesto bruschetta) a mushroom and chickpea soup and two second courses (baked trout and sweet and sour suckling pig) two coffees and amaro. All delicious, highly recommended!

15/12/2024: Ho scelto questo ristorante per festeggiare i miei 30 anni con la mia famiglia. Accoglienza perfetta, cibo buonissimo, materie prime di alta qualità cucinate con sapienza. Un clima riservato, ma allo stesso tempo familiare che ci ha accompagnato per l'intera giornata. Siamo stati benissimo. Grazie, grazie e ancora grazie per averci regalato un ricordo piacevole da poter conservare. Lo consiglio vivamente ✨

05/01/2025: L'osteria è veramente carina , ma molto piccola pochi tavoli, meglio prenotare altrimenti si rischia di non trovare posto. Peccato che il cibo mi abbia deluso . Abbiamo preso 2 primi , il mio era abbondante mentre l'altro era scarso . Ho ordinato per secondo l'agnello , nel piatto c'erano pochi pezzettini piccoli di carne dura e stopposa per non parlare delle patate che erano nere chissà quante volte le hanno riscaldate. Se vuoi il vino devi bere un bicchiere o l'intera bottiglia al costo di 10 euro Per dolce avevano solo i cantuccini con il vin santo . Non fanno il caffè. La titolare è simpatica con le sue battute , anche nel bagno ci trovi un cartello spiritoso. Peccato per il mangiare che non mi ha soddisfatto per niente .

31/12/2024: We had dinner on December 30th...we waited about 45 minutes to get the starter. Slow service, my second course was burnt, chunks of lamb. Very small environment in which a table of 10 people dominated... total confusion. Not recommended.

06/01/2025: We went with a group of friends on December 31st for lunch. The tavern run by Salvatore and his wife Loredana with their children. From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was taken care of in detail and very good. A starter with a delicate flavour, a first course of tagliatelle with wild boar ragout, a second course with grilled cockerel with potatoes and finally a chocolate and cream profiterol that melted in your mouth. I recommend it, we will definitely be back.

05/01/2025: Stop for lunch on the tour of Umbria... pleasant family-run tavern, what can I say... Everything 10 and praise!!! If one day we will be here again....obligatory stop!!! Super recommended!!!!

03/01/2025: Il Caminetto è sempre una garanzia, Marco, Marielena e il personale super gentili e sempre disponibili, tutto ottimo dall'antipasto al dolce, compresa la pizza. Consigliatissimo!!!

02/01/2025: The place is nice, more for parties than dinner for two, for what we had the food was good, there were 4 of us,... 3 stars for the service, not so much because the starter arrived late and the hot dish arrived first and then the cold one......, not so much because while I was finishing eating the starter the second course arrived..... not so much because the second courses arrived at different times, all of this could fit in, in fact I put 3 stars....but at the end there was a bottle of water left (plastic!!!!!!) full at the table, my son out of shame (for what then) put it under his hat to take it away, on the way out the cashier asks him to see what was hidden there. ........after checking that it was water he said good I thought worse..........never again thanks

06/01/2025: A very pleasant experience...the unforgettable cacio e pepe chitarrine with black truffle...an ecstasy of taste with every forkful! The main room has very particular acoustics and if you sit at a central table you can perfectly hear all the dialogues from the surrounding tables... this may not be pleasant during dinner but I don't think it can be solved.

07/12/2024: Credo che sono lontani anni luce sul saper gestire un ristorante sito nella piazza principale di una una zona turistica come Assisi. Propongono nel menù piatti Umbri, ma di Umbro non c’è veramente nulla. Non sanno cucinare un piatto di taglioni al tartufo. La pasta con il ragù di cinghiale aveva lo stesso sapore della pasta ai frutti di mare. Per non parlare della fretta che avevano i camerieri, appena si finisce di mangiare un piatto dí preoccupato di portare via tutto senza nemmeno chiedere come fosse il piatto, forse consapevoli anche loro di quello che servono.

18/11/2024: Abbiamo pranzato qui e siamo rimasti soddisfatti. Primi ottimi( tagliolini al tartufo, lasagne)come i secondi ( porchetta e agnello con patate ) molto gustosi. Vino ottimo Bel locale,servizio professionale e simpatico. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo Bravi.

02/01/2025: Un’esperienza spettacolare! La location è semplicemente mozzafiato, curata nei minimi dettagli e perfetta per una serata speciale. I piatti sono un vero capolavoro: belli da vedere e ancora più buoni da gustare. Ogni portata è un viaggio di sapori, preparata con grande maestria. L’unica nota leggermente sotto le aspettative è stato il dolce, che non mi ha colpito come il resto del menu. Tuttavia, l’eccellenza del servizio e della cucina rendono questo ristorante assolutamente da provare. Complimenti!

24/12/2024: Well-reviewed restaurant with a varied menu and seasonal offerings. The baked potatoes with cheese and truffle are excellent, the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms have other mushrooms in them besides porcini, the house wine in bulk is good (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo). the prices are all in all reasonable, except for the wine which is a bit expensive for being house wine

09/11/2024: Very close to the E45, beautiful rooms, Latvian (I think they are two and a half squares side by side), very characteristic environment. The decoration on the toilet paper is a gem. Super breakfast even for those who, like me, don't like sweets!!
