04/10/2025: We had dinner. To say the service was slow would be a compliment. We arrived at 8:30 PM and waited almost half an hour for two glasses of wine. After that, while waiting for the appetizer, I asked if I could get some bread to pass the time. The appetizer arrived after 45 minutes. After another 45 minutes, my first course arrived. My wife had ordered a second course, and it arrived after I had finished my first course. Afterward, I ordered dessert, asking how long I had to wait. The waitress took my order and then told me they were out of stock. The food quality was average. The price was fair. Not to be repeated.

22/07/2025: A Mystical Experience I've rarely had the opportunity to experience such a beautiful dining experience. Dining at Pepe Nero Restaurant is like this: it's engaging with new, unusual flavors, it's seeing and tasting modern and traditional cuisine at the same time, the refined, expert, and sophisticated touch of those who, it's clear, have always been part of Great Cuisine. Each course is a surprise, to be appreciated first with the eyes and then with the palate. I always choose the tasting menu, so I can try a variety of flavors on the ever-changing menus: the cauliflower, red shrimp, and licorice risotto was a true delight, the Milanese-style red mullet with cabbage and grilled risotto was a delicacy, the stuffed squid was delicious and incredibly tender, accompanied by artichokes, black garlic, and Prato vermouth. And I won't even mention the culinary journey offered before lunch, with delicious small portions that literally ignite the senses. The staff is young, friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. The experience at Pepe Nero in Prato is a treat I always enjoy whenever I can. Thank you!

25/06/2025: It was a pleasant surprise! I went to lunch with my wife and son. We chose this restaurant because we had heard good things about it but we were a little afraid that it was the classic restaurant with expensive but extremely poor dishes… We wanted to try the experience anyway and we came away enthusiastic! The prices are absolutely fair and not too high but above all the quality is very high! Both in the choice of raw materials and in the skill in preparing the dishes we fell in love with it! We shared an appetizer among 3 of us (just to nibble something while waiting for the first courses) and incredibly the dish was sufficiently abundant to allow everyone to eat enough to appreciate it. Afterwards each of us had a first course and as an accompaniment we chose a bottle of white wine (it cost 18 euros and the wine list is fantastic! There are bottles of all types and from all over the world). Even for the first courses the quantity of the courses was generous and both my wife and my son struggled to finish… I was “forced” to help them a little… eheh! Having tasted all three first courses, I can say that the skill of those who work in the kitchen is truly exceptional! Congratulations! To finish, my wife and I shared a second course. We were very pleased to receive the dish already divided into two plates. The extremely professional and kind service is another strong point of this restaurant. In total, we spent 97 euros (so about 32 euros per person). We did not have dessert or coffee because we were full and satisfied. In the end, the expense was more than acceptable and I have rarely been so happy after paying the bill. We will definitely return every now and then to be lulled and spoiled with such quality.

29/08/2025: The food was delicious. The waiter was a sweetheart. I misordered my dish because I didn't understand what he was saying, and he replaced it without any problem. A complete Italian experience.

09/08/2025: everything was delicious, a friendly place with great people. I only gave it 3 stars because 1 plate of pasta and a ½ bottle of water cost €11... a bit too expensive for an osteria in my opinion, especially if you go there often because you work in the area.

11/10/2025: The trattoria is famous for its Chianina Florentine steak. I would have liked to try it, but unfortunately the cost of 6.5 euros per 100 grams prevented me from doing so. It's not that I didn't have the money, but if I had to spend 65 euros just for a steak, I wouldn't have been able to try other dishes. The pici with Chianina ragù were good, as were the peposo and the lampredotto in zimino (with spinach). Although, for the latter two, I recommend reducing the sauce, which was too watery, as was the caramel in the Crem Caramel. Always book, because the place seems more like a grocery store than a trattoria. The spaces are narrow, the tables are small, and there are many requests for food. Although I didn't like the service, the young waitress is unprofessional. Before bringing the cheese to the table, or removing a plate from the table, you should Ask the customer for permission. I was also disappointed by the side dishes (roasted potatoes with their skins on, spinach that wasn't sautéed properly, and beans that lacked flavor or seasoning). The extra virgin olive oil they brought to my table, on the other hand, was one of the best I've ever tasted in a restaurant. It reminded me of what my grandfather used to make. I don't know if they put it on their dishes, but it would certainly make everything better.

05/10/2025: Lunch was excellent: the pasta with Chianina ragù was delicious, the stew was tasty and delicate, and the desserts were a real treat, especially the grape schiacciata and the fig tart. The Michelangelo bitters were particularly tasty.

07/10/2025: Wonderful gluten free pasta with bolognese sauce! Delicious GF almond cookies too. Perfecto!

11/08/2025: A room with a small number of seats that allows you to spend some wonderful moments, tasting very well cooked and served dishes. They welcomed us very well and were present and attentive in fulfilling our requests. The proposals are not very many, but this is an indication of the care in preparing the food which is truly excellent. A place to try if you have not been there yet

23/07/2025: Very clean place, with a family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The host, Mr. Alberto, is very kind and friendly, and Mrs. Laura's cooking was exquisite. We'll definitely be back. The Florentine steak was excellent, the first courses were delicious, and the desserts were excellent too. Highly recommended.

17/07/2025: We visited the restaurant on Wednesday evening at 9:30 PM, having booked through The Fork app. We were immediately greeted with great kindness and helpfulness by the staff, who were impeccable throughout the evening. We ordered two raw fish appetizers and two main courses: the service was quick and attentive, and the food was truly special, fresh, and beautifully presented. A special thanks goes to the professional and friendly staff: they made the experience even more enjoyable. Congratulations!

13/10/2025: Had high hopes based on reviews and social media. The server took our order and was friendly enough. Overpriced, small portions and felt like a tourist trap overall. The beans in tomato sauce were the best part. Meatballs were some of the worst we've ever had. Not a memorable meal and not one I'd reccommend.

12/10/2025: This place was so good my wife literally cried while eating it! Delicious truffle and pistachio pasta. The meat was quite rare/blue but but the taste was 10/10 The meatball appetizer was also phenomenal!

28/09/2025: I got takeout pizza, which used to be delicious and thin. Now it's super thin, not crispy; you might be wondering if it's a frozen crust, if it weren't for the fact that they make it in front of you. It's not crispy, and it's gotten worse over time, but it's worth avoiding now. The waiters and atmosphere are pleasant as always, but the pizza chef is a bit grumpy. I'm only talking about the pizza because the food is still as good as it has been, based on other dinners.

29/09/2025: Despite a reservation for 40 people made well in advance and a fixed menu so rigid that they wouldn't bring an alternative dish for a guest who doesn't eat pork, we waited almost an hour before seeing a dish... Not to mention the cheesecake included in the menu, which measured a whopping 2.5cm x 2.5cm per portion and for which they absolutely wanted to know in advance the only sauce allowed on top. The way they handled a group of 40 people for 35 euros a head was decidedly unpleasant...!!!!

13/10/2025: A Tuscan-style restaurant nestled in the Valsassina mountains, an unexpectedly excellent combination. The food is of the highest quality and offers a wide selection, thanks in part to the owner's Tuscan origins, which lend an extra touch of authenticity. The staff is very kind and friendly. Excellent for dates, large dinners, and aperitifs (summer). Highly recommended, despite being a bit isolated from the major towns, but let me tell you, the trip is worth every bite. Reservations are highly recommended. Excellent!

06/09/2025: Kindness, courtesy, and friendliness in a rustic setting that makes you feel relaxed and at home. The handmade pasta all'agliona is impressive, the crostoni exceptional... Wonderful Gewürztraminer, superb desserts. We'll definitely be back.
