02/11/2025: Nothing that would entice me to return. I was hoping it wasn't a touristy place, but other than the beautiful setting, everything was adequate. I don't know if there's anything better in Castiglione, but I wouldn't return here.

19/10/2025: Lovely place and excellent quality Special dishes that you obviously can't get everywhere, and yes, it's certainly not cheap, but you get what you pay for. A bit of a wait, but we went on a Sunday for lunch.

25/10/2025: Not satisfactory. A magical place, once my favorite, a trattoria that once served good, simple food. A room filled with old-fashioned tools where you could browse before sitting down to eat. I found it to be a touristy place, with a 5-euro entrance fee to the same room described as a museum. The food was standard fare for American tourists, and the staff didn't smile. A disappointment. Business is business!

06/09/2025: We celebrated my sister's wedding. The location was beautiful, the food was good. Rooms are not rented.

22/08/2025: I had the pleasure of visiting the masseria during the Ferragosto holiday. It's a charming place surrounded by nature, just outside the city of Palermo, about 30 minutes away. I had a wonderful lunch on Ferragosto, an excellent menu, served by very attentive and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back!

21/11/2025: Sea urchins sold out, except for the next table. (The usual) Sicilian cronyism that doesn't go beyond its own nose.

We were there because big fans of Inspector Montalbano (restaurant was a location) so had his own screen favourites. Fan or not this restaurant should be on list if in Ragusa. Approx £80 incl wine.

01/08/2025: Non eravamo mai stati a Portopalo e dopo una visita al centro città ci siamo spostati in zona porto. Per puro caso ci siamo fermati in questo ristorante. Sono stati gentilissimi a farci accomodare nonostante non avessimo prenotato in quanto la sala era piena e molti non hanno avuto la nostra stessa fortuna. Abbiamo mangiato del pesce freschissimo cucinato e marinato sapientemente. Abbiamo dovuto chiedere dei contenitori per portare a casa quel ben di Dio che non siamo riusciti a mangiare. Abbiamo preso un Piatto Mare per 2 persone veramente abbondante. Ottima anche la pasta fresca ripiena, una grande differenza rispetto al classico raviolo pronto congelato per non parlare del fritto misto che ha preso mio figlio. Alla fine è rimasto spazietto per un ottimo sorbetto al limone. Lo consiglio vivamente e consiglio di prenotare.

23/11/2025: We went on Saturday evening with friends, and we immediately found the kindness and hospitality very welcome. Since it was our first time, the waiter recommended it to us. What can I say about the impeccable food? The waiters were always attentive and, above all, always smiling, even when the rooms were full. We will definitely continue to go there. Recommended.

03/11/2025: A charming place, with a beautiful panoramic view, which makes everything romantic and stunning. The food is excellent, the dishes have immense flavor and are cooked and presented with great care. The entire staff is professional, kind, and attentive to the guests and their needs. The place is also super clean, which in my opinion highlights all the positive aspects of this place even more. Highly recommended.

23/10/2025: La Taverna dell'Etna is one of those places that captures your heart even before your palate. Situated in a breathtaking panoramic location, it offers a spectacular view of Mount Etna and the sea that alone is worth the visit. But it's when the food arrives that you realize you're in a truly special place. The cuisine is authentic, carefully prepared, and based on excellent quality ingredients, carefully selected and treated with respect. The staff is extremely friendly. In short, La Taverna dell'Etna is a place where the view enchants, the cuisine excites, and the hospitality makes you want to return. A little gem at the foot of the volcano. 🌋🍷

19/10/2025: Dinner on October 10, 2025 The setting is bare, consisting of a single, bright room, but devoid of any furnishings, enhanced only by four photographs of Modica on the walls. Tables are discreetly separated, and acoustic comfort is difficult to assess due to the small number of customers. Decent traditional cuisine: mixed antipasto, varied but unmemorable. The "lolli che favi" (a type of pasta filled with honey and honeycomb) are hard to judge, having never eaten them before, but they didn't impress me at all, while the ricotta ravioli with pork sauce were convincing. Decent house wine. Friendly and fairly quick service. Affordable. Rating: 7

17/10/2025: It's a bit far from the center of Modica, but you can eat really delicious traditional food. Oh, I want to eat it again.

17/09/2025: Pizzeria restaurant near the sea, good pizza

14/09/2025: The food is average. When we arrived, the waitress greeted us without a smile. Afterward, there was a bit of an argument between the waiters. For a pizza, mussel soup, a chicken skewer, and a sparkling water, it cost 40 euros. Neither cheap nor excessively expensive.

04/11/2025: Il Barcaiolo è un'incantevole ristorante immerso in un paesaggio molto particolare, si potrebbe dire quasi un delizioso "nascondiglio" armonioso tra mare e montagna.La sublime qualità del pesce, gli ottimi antipasti, la bontà dei primi e la genuinità delle pietanze vi stupirà piacevolmente!Il tutto "condito" da un servizio impeccabile: personale attento e davvero gentilissimo.Lo consiglio a tutti, credetemi sarà un'esperienza indimenticabile!

28/10/2025: A welcoming restaurant overlooking the harbor with an outdoor seating area. Excellent dishes with generous portions. The staff is helpful and attentive.

26/10/2025: Absent, unprofessional waiters, terrible service, coffee and drinks served without a table set. Coffee served without water, drinks brought to the table without a tray. Prices inflated at checkout by a rude cashier and company. 100% not recommended.

21/11/2025: We had dinner last night, four families of us. The seafood was excellent, the place small but very welcoming. Highly recommended.

28/10/2025: Authentic Trattoria in the heart of the Vucciria market, with mostly local clientele, fresh dishes, including pasta with sea urchin, very friendly and sympathetic staff including waiters and owner. I brought great friends from Zaragoza and they enjoyed authentic local dishes. Very much recommended in a relaxing atmosphere with no concessions on new decoration, just made for the regular local crowd that come here. You cannot go wrong ordering here
