23/11/2025: We went on Saturday evening with friends, and we immediately found the kindness and hospitality very welcome. Since it was our first time, the waiter recommended it to us. What can I say about the impeccable food? The waiters were always attentive and, above all, always smiling, even when the rooms were full. We will definitely continue to go there. Recommended.

25/10/2025: Relaxed location with super tasty local food. Lots of fresh fish options, and the couscous was delicious. The restaurant is family run, and they are kind and the food arrives well timed. Would highly recommend for large groups or families and couples. They have a cosy outside space. Grazie per la bellissima serata!! ☺️

13/05/2026: A truly wonderful place, intimate and welcoming, with a refined atmosphere and kind, helpful staff from the moment you arrive. You can sense their attention to the customer and their desire to ensure a pleasant experience. It's a shame, however, about the food, especially considering some of the traditional Sicilian recipes. The artichoke "ammiuttunatu" arrived very hard, with a completely crumbly crumb and lacking the character this dish should have. The caponata was also unbalanced: using almonds instead of pine nuts significantly altered the flavor, and the dish was also undercooked, as the waiter confirmed. The risotto, however, was good. What's a bit disappointing is that, despite the staff acknowledging the dishes' weaknesses, there wasn't even a small gesture of attention to the customer at the end. It remains a very pleasant place, probably especially appreciated by those who want to enjoy a Sicilian experience in a beautiful location. As a Sicilian, however, I believe that some traditional recipes deserve greater care and faithfulness.

17/05/2026: Perfect location, excellent food, and perfect service.

13/05/2026: We calmly asked for clarification about the €12 charge on the bill. We were told it was for bread, butter, and water. However, we had already paid €4 for water on the same bill, and we did not order or consume any bread or butter. If this was actually a service charge (coperto), we would have fully accepted it, as we understand this is a normal practice in Italy. We simply wanted a clear explanation. Instead of providing a normal clarification, the staff created a humiliating scene: an aggressive woman from the staff came to our table, waved the menu in our faces, and spoke to us in a very rude and hostile manner. She then asked where we were from. When we asked what that had to do with the bill, she replied that it did matter. This was done loudly and demonstratively in front of the entire restaurant, while other guests stared at us. The whole situation felt extremely uncomfortable and came across as discriminatory. We were there with our child and, instead of enjoying our evening, we were left stressed and humiliated. To make matters worse, when we asked where we could order an Uber, we were told that “there is no Uber in Italy” and that they could call “their own taxi” for us instead, which felt misleading and uncomfortable as well. Completely unacceptable behavior from the staff. We would not recommend this place to anyone.

29/04/2026: We went for lunch on a Sunday. The dining room wasn't very large, but it was cozy and had a large fireplace in an old, well-maintained farmhouse. The appetizers and main course were good. It's a shame about the first courses, which were good, but the pasta in both was overcooked. The fixed price was acceptable.

25/04/2026: FANTASTIC experience! F A N T A S T I C A We organized our wedding at this venue, enchanted by the location offered by the venue, surrounded by nature and greenery, and by the professionalism and friendliness of the Director of the Hall, Sebastiano. The Chef (with just a few years of experience) later offered us a taste of his cuisine before the event, and we were more than satisfied with our choice. The day of the event was P E R F E C T! The Director, the entire staff, were like clockwork, working in synergy with us, the newlyweds, coordinating external services we hired, such as the band, the magician, and the photographer, without a single problem and actually making the day run perfectly! And let's not even talk about the cuisine, which fed us endlessly, all the dishes we'd chosen exactly how we wanted them and, I can assure you, delighted our guests, even the littlest ones, those with celiac disease, diabetes, favism, sulfite and tannin intolerances, and vegetarians. So what can I say? THANK YOU Antica Masseria di Salvo, and thank you Sebastiano for your kindness and infinite professionalism! See you at the next event 😎

26/09/2025: Ok food, but pricier than it should be. Slow but kind service, great location. I was expecting more on the food though, sounded great, was just OK, and at that price I was expecting a much better experience.

03/05/2026: The wait staff's attention to detail was obsessive; the appetizer, first course, and second course were consumed in 50 minutes. We made it clear we were tourists, and we weren't given a proper welcome when it came to our choice of dishes. After the second course, the waiters didn't ask for coffee or liqueur, or for the dessert menu. There were no polite remarks at the cash register (such as "Is everything okay?"). The appetizer was bruschetta with cherry tomatoes (very cold, straight from the fridge). The first courses were very good (pasta with pistachio pesto and pasta with seafood). The second course, the mixed grill of horse meat, only had the horse meatball. The steak wasn't horse (and when we raised objections to the waiter, he assured us otherwise). But the taste and color, and above all, the same dish on another table, spoke volumes. A place with great attention to detail, but only because of the location.

02/11/2025: Nothing that would entice me to return. I was hoping it wasn't a touristy place, but other than the beautiful setting, everything was adequate. I don't know if there's anything better in Castiglione, but I wouldn't return here.

16/05/2026: A beautiful Italian atmosphere, with a positive vibe from the staff, who are elegantly dressed and always helpful. The food is of the highest standard in Sicilian cuisine. It's clear that this is a family business run from the heart. The prices are reasonable. In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Catania.
