08/06/2026: After a long walk with my family, we stumbled upon this trattoria at lunchtime. Given the time, we went in. The menu immediately looked inviting, and the prices were affordable. We were very satisfied. A special mention goes to the raw fish. But the dishes we truly loved were the tuna with crispy onion (perfectly cooked) and the penne with swordfish and eggplant (never tasted so good). We'll definitely return to savor the flavor and atmosphere of authentic cuisine.

02/06/2026: By chance, on a street in the historic center of Catania, I met a very distinguished gentleman named Gioacchino. I asked if he could recommend a restaurant where the food was good. He was so kind and friendly, and he recommended Trattoria da Don Turiddu 2. I highly recommend it. We ate super well, with fresh fish and impeccable service. It's family-run, and they're very kind and friendly. I highly recommend it.

02/11/2025: Nothing that would entice me to return. I was hoping it wasn't a touristy place, but other than the beautiful setting, everything was adequate. I don't know if there's anything better in Castiglione, but I wouldn't return here.

03/06/2026: The staff was very friendly, and the food arrived quickly. The four sampler appetizers were good, tasty, and solid, but not what I would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The pasta was good, but again, nothing sensational. The wine was also good, but not exceptional, and unfortunately, the service didn't ask if we wanted another drink. Getting a second glass was difficult because the waiters seemed overwhelmed. All in all, it's an exclusive, somewhat expensive restaurant, but above all, there's a shortage of staff. On the positive side, we were able to get a table without a reservation, which was very kind.

02/06/2026: The restaurant is well-maintained and clean, the staff is very friendly and courteous. We asked the sommelier for advice on the wine tasting, an excellent Sicilian white wine. We then moved straight on to the sfingione. The first courses were exceptional, the fried fish was top-notch. If you love good food, this is the place to be.

10/06/2026: Traveling the roads through the municipality of Buccheri... Besides the stunning scenery, I found myself having lunch at U LOCALE. Traditional, typical, harmonious. Delicious food; the owner, Pippo Formica, and his magnificent chef fully met my every expectation at a reasonable price. If you pass by, stop for a bite. A MUST!!!

21/05/2026: It was a given until recently. Today, however, we had a terrible experience: the staff was truly rude and unfriendly, and there was almost nothing to eat. When asked "What vegetables are there?" the answer was "only fennel." At the end of May in Sicily, we're full of fresh vegetables. The truffle pasta was salty, overly peppery, and tasteless; the leg of lamb with almonds tasted like a canteen dish, and the bruschetta lacked any seasoning. It's a shame because it used to be a truly excellent place to eat; now perhaps they're right to sell the business, as the sign at the entrance says. Only positive note: the house wine, bread, and olive oil were good.

06/05/2026: I came on a school trip and found some horrifying things. The cutlet was raw and flavorless, and the fries were limp. You can also tell there's no egg in the breading, because a simple swipe of a fork washes it all off.

14/05/2026: A bar that has a little bit of everything, but all of it is of good quality. The arancini are legendary.

01/05/2026: The rotisserie pieces are expensive, costing €2.50, but the quality is truly poor!! Decent pastry and ice cream shop, but overpriced, as if they were the only one making them. The "bomba" arancini is a mound of mushy rice with a hint of ham and all bechamel sauce... and a nonexistent crust (soggy)!! Very good croissants

01/05/2026: An extremely disappointing experience at Pepe Nero restaurant in Catania, from every perspective. The location, which should be a positive impression, instead feels neglected, cold, and devoid of any character or atmosphere: an environment that doesn't encourage you to relax or enjoy the evening at all. The food was a real negative surprise: mediocre quality, dishes lacking in identity, and preparation that suggests little care and attention. The ingredients don't seem particularly fresh, and the overall result is far from what one would expect. The portions, moreover, are RIDICULOUS compared to the asking price, almost irritating. The final bill is simply unjustifiable: exorbitantly high for such a poor experience. You have the distinct feeling of having wasted your money. In conclusion, a restaurant that profoundly disappoints in every way. I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone: there are many better options in the city that are truly worth your time and money.

01/05/2026: Leaving aside the very '80s-inspired location, which I won't dwell on, the real downside was the dinner. A small piece of "nasty" meat passed off as fillet, mini pizzas at exorbitant prices that, compared to the pizza slices at Catania's Bellini airport, are cheap! Half of the "mini" pizza is crust, whose crust is incredibly difficult to digest. The bill was a real blow: almost 40 euros per person! And are we in Capri?! I strongly advise against it.

26/05/2026: Enjoy lunch overlooking a beach and a wonderful sea, with attentive and friendly service, but above all, with EXCELLENT cuisine! The raw materials and preparation are truly top-notch. Average price and adequate portions. I recommend.
