08/04/2026: Excellent food, quiet atmosphere, perhaps not very suitable for small children, but still very welcome. It remains my favorite in Ortigia.

07/04/2026: The overall experience ranged from mediocre to disappointing. The food was "acceptable," but far from what one would expect seeing the place decorated with Michelin Guide stickers from 2011 to 2023. More than a guarantee, they resemble a museum of past glories. As of today, it feels more like a tourist trap than a restaurant that lives up to that history. The atmosphere upon arrival was, to say the least, peculiar. Part of the team was sitting at a table with what appeared to be acquaintances, then they served with an almost admirably… frenetic energy. Before the standard response of "we have many 5-star reviews" or "if you didn't like it, you should have left it on your plate," let me preempt you: a bad experience isn't invalidated by statistics, and paying for service doesn't obligate you to stage a scene to validate your opinion. The saying "one flower doesn't make a summer" is true, but when the garden has been neglected for a long time, we're no longer talking about a single flower. In our case, the disappointment was enough to leave our plates half-eaten, our wine practically untouched, and skip dessert altogether. It wasn't an isolated incident, but rather a series of signs that suggest the current level of service doesn't live up to the image they try to project. Summary - Edible and decent food, nothing special - The waitresses were lovely. The rest of the staff was peculiar.

19/04/2026: La Trattoria del Sale is located near the Trapani salt pans. It offers excellent cuisine; the couscous with fried fish is truly amazing. The location is perfect for admiring the salt pans.

04/04/2026: Typical dishes with a homemade flavor: heavenly sardine meatballs and pasta with spectacular sausage sauce! The caponata, Sicilian-style involtini, and pasta with sardines are also delicious. "Zia Anna" is a delight in person; we'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

14/05/2026: A beautiful place with a view of Mount Etna, delicious food, and friendly service. It's worth arriving early to get a seat with a good view :) I highly recommend it.

01/06/2026: Disappointment. I've always appreciated this restaurant, which in the past has stood out for the quality of its dishes and generous portions. Unfortunately, on our last visit, we noticed a marked decline from the standards we were accustomed to. The dishes were almost flavorless, likely due to less than perfect preparation. The only positive note was the raw fish, which appeared fresh and of good quality. It's natural to wonder if the chef has changed since then. We ordered two appetizers for €28 each. The first courses were double portions, while the subsequent courses were significantly smaller, about half the size. We also noticed that other customers, despite ordering just one appetizer, were receiving portions essentially identical to ours, except for the first courses. We brought this to the attention of the waiter, but his explanations were rather confusing and unconvincing. For our first courses, we chose a calamarata with eggplant, swordfish, and salted ricotta. Overall, the flavor was more reminiscent of Pasta alla Norma, with a slight aftertaste of mint; the swordfish pieces were few, hard to spot, and lacking in flavor. We also tried a skewer of four prawns in curry. The prawns had been cooked in their shells, and the curry had been spread primarily on the outer surface of the shells. Consequently, much of the seasoning was removed during the cleaning process, leaving a barely perceptible flavor. Considering the quality this restaurant has always guaranteed in the past, the experience unfortunately fell short of expectations.

28/05/2026: I expected better overall, because some dishes weren't good (the risottos in particular). The service was adequate, and the atmosphere was welcoming and quiet.

This is where L’Antica Sicilia fits in, a restaurant that perfectly reflects the spirit of the city. The quality of the food is its absolute highlight: the freshest ingredients and truly accomplished dishes, with intense yet balanced flavors. You can sense a cuisine that focuses on substance, without unnecessary artifice. The service is another positive: friendly, just the right amount, and never intrusive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The quality-price ratio is also very convincing: no "tourist prices," but a true alignment with the setting and the quality offered, with an overall sense of authenticity. A restaurant that fits well in an already interesting location and contributes to making it even more memorable. 23/06/2026: A superb neighborhood restaurant! The pasta we chose was delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was quite discreet. The prices were also fair and reasonable.

30/06/2025: In zona centrale, entriamo per puro caso, ambiente accogliente, accolti un sorriso, prendiamo due pizze (dai nomi legati alla tradizione letterale sicula). Che dire: fantastiche. Ottima farcitura, impasto soffice e leggero (sinonimo di una adeguata lievitazione), leggera alveatura, cornice elastica e pronta al ritorno. Veramente buone, complimenti. Servizio rapido, prezzi nella norma. Bellissima esperienza.

20/03/2026: Really good and authentic Italian food made from simple and fresh ingredients with a nice wine selection to accompany the meals. So good we ate there twice!

20/03/2026: Enjoyed a couple of the appetizers including the capponata and the fried cheese; both were very flavorful and enjoyed by everyone. The entrees arrived a little out of sync with one another but the pasta with red mullet was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty.

23/11/2025: We went on Saturday evening with friends, and we immediately found the kindness and hospitality very welcome. Since it was our first time, the waiter recommended it to us. What can I say about the impeccable food? The waiters were always attentive and, above all, always smiling, even when the rooms were full. We will definitely continue to go there. Recommended.

30/05/2026: We had lunch and dinner for several days at Trattoria Diegolina...not to be missed, a guarantee of quality and service. Highly recommended, excellent food.

04/06/2026: Wow, we never expected this pizza to blow us away. The toppings were incredibly creative (mashed potatoes, ham, rosemary or yellow tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, lemon zest). It cost around €12-14 (as of June 2026). There's a huge selection of wines by the bottle and a small list of wines by the glass. We were offered two wines to taste, and they even changed the glass after we'd chosen one. The tables were set with cloth napkins, and the front tables offered a view of the harbor. The interior was pleasantly air-conditioned. The only downside was that they didn't clear the table at the end. You get up and pay at the bar, as is often the case in Sicily. Definitely a highlight of an evening with excellent quality.

25/05/2026: On our first day, we popped in for a quick bite and drinks. Encouraged by what we found, we decided to return for my wife's birthday dinner. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try anything. After a short wait for a table and the waiter showing us the right one, another 40 minutes for menus and an approach from anyone prompted us to leave. We turned out to be invisible and probably not a very attractive morsel for the staff, as there were only two of us, as the larger tables around us, even those that arrived later, were served without a problem. Attempts to contact the staff were unfortunately unsuccessful. It's a waste of time and hoping for a good day of service. I don't recommend this place.

09/06/2026: I have dietary restrictions (no gluten, no corn, no pork). I was lucky to find this place. I explained my situation and they found a meal for me. They cooked a delicious risotto dish, plus salad. It was worth the price. The owner is an amazing and beautiful woman, I have a lot of respect for a woman owned business. The atmosphere’s was calm, with good energy. I will definitely go back.

08/06/2026: It was our most expensive dinner, we paid around €100 and the food was not good at all. The wine is good and interesting, but the food is not so good… maybe they are better at fish dishes. Anyway, I don't understand why they have such a good rating, the toilets looked terrible, there were few people there, the waitress was interested and offered expensive things and didn't answer direct questions but I can praise her for her effort. But it's definitely not the best place in Palermo and I recommend any other restaurant but this one. AND BROWN WINE GLASSES WHAT IS IT!?!?! AND SHE IS LIING IN THE COMMENTS THAT SHE NEVER SAW ME 🤣🤣🤣🤣
