It was so good! The antipasti were enormous (you have to like olives!) and the main courses were delicious (mushroom risotto, the original wild boar and chocolate pasta). The decor, a former olive press, is magnificent, and the welcome was absolutely charming. A wonderful experience.

Excellent food, as well as the wine and rum they recommended to pair with dessert. Prices are definitely above average, but sometimes it's okay.

Fantastic experience! The food was truly delicious, every dish was a pleasant surprise. The owner and all the staff were super friendly, kind, and attentive to every detail. You felt welcomed right at home. We'll definitely be back! 5 well-deserved stars.

Fantastic! Very friendly service. The food is superb. We ate there twice. Among other things, caponata, pork cheek, tagliatelle porcini, and tiramisu. All prepared with love! Thanks

Dishes prepared with love, the service is excellent, and the welcome is top notch. We felt at home, especially after trying the linguine alla palermitana: the aroma and flavor took me back in time. The Fedora cake and the crème brulee were excellent. We'll definitely be back...because I already know we'll leave our hearts there ❤️

27/07/2026: Well, what can I say? It's a Catania institution where most dishes are ordered by the course. However, it's not even worth going without booking two weeks in advance. Or, you can do the true Sicilian thing and just go without a reservation and easily wait an hour while enjoying an aperitif on a stool 😉
27/07/2026: Informal atmosphere, great prices. Excellent food. Don't miss the sea-green spaghetti, which made me dream. A medium appetizer cost €5, which we shared, two oysters, and two generously portioned first courses. Two large bottles of water, a Coke, and two coffees for a total of €43. I recommend going early to avoid the line. We wanted to return in the evening, but had to give it a miss. I left my heart there.

Ristorante La Polena

28/05/2026: I expected better overall, because some dishes weren't good (the risottos in particular). The service was adequate, and the atmosphere was welcoming and quiet.
02/05/2026: I've been to Polena for lunch many times and it's a constant throughout time!
