19/10/2025: This isn't our first time at Matermatuta. The menu is always splendid: top-quality fish, with always original and absolutely delicious variations. Probably the best seafood restaurant in central Rome. The service is also remarkable: punctual, friendly, and helpful. Always a divine experience at Matermatuta.

13/11/2025: I got bonus money on a website (you can see it in the photo) and decided to treat myself to dinner. At first I just wanted a quick bite, but I ended up sitting here, enjoying delicious pasta and having a great evening.

13/11/2025: Food is very average at best. There are sooo many better places close by with better food for less $. The server discussed how you can tip and they even ask on their payment device? ANY GOOD PLACE IN ROME WILL NOT ASK THAT. I live in the area and you can do better believe me.

It harks back to Pier Paolo Pasolini's film and the places he frequented, in an area that was once suburban but is no longer so. The outdoor tables allow for a quick lunch (but not only that) at a great price. In the evening, the place is romantically timeless, and there's even parking available. The new owners, Simona and Federico, offer a warm welcome and are eager to offer advice and make customers feel at ease. Friendly and professional, I enjoyed a rare moment of serenity and existential grace. A must-try, for me.

30/11/2025: I hate to leave a negative review, but as a chef, I have to give a negative review of the amatriciana, which had an aftertaste of ready-made sauce. You couldn't taste the ingredients in the sauce, just the flavor of preservatives. This was obviously the opinion of all nine people at my table. We also had some tiramisu, and mine tasted sour. Poorly preserved? Nothing to complain about the very good carbonara and the appetizers. A fraschetta d'Ariccia is a must-try with the amatriciana, a typical dish of our flavors.

28/11/2025: It was good but not very good, the pasta had an excellent flavour but the carbonara didn't have a creamy egg and the amstriciana didn't have much sauce.

10/11/2025: We came from Madrid and we were delighted. Excellent homemade food, like we were eating at grandma's. Wonderful and excellent service. The next time I return, I'll definitely come back here. Thank you for everything ☺️
