30/05/2025: As we arrived we were not even welcomed properly. The server was really unfriendly and told us he could not seat seven people. Even though there was a free space for 6 and he could have given us one chair. Then he accepted with a sour face. He gave us the menus without a word. We waited for 10 Minutes before we could order. After we told him only one of us would eat and the rest of us would like a coffee and drinks he said that they only serve lunch even though there were other tables that only had ordered drinks. We stood up and left with a feeling that we were througn out. Would not reccomend this place, not ever.

16/05/2025: My experience here was a big disappointment: the guanciale in the pasta alla gricia tasted “off”; the panna cotta was runny; the service indifferent. The thumping of disco-type music from an adjoining establishment didn’t lend itself to a pleasant dining experience. I won’t be back nor would I recommend it.

08/05/2025: I went for lunch for the first time today Thursday 8th May, despite having passed by it many times and being a resident in the area I had never been there and I must say that I was surprised and satisfied with everything! Excellent location, staff and food! I will definitely be back!

10/06/2025: TL;DR: Plan your way back ahead! this is worth every effort! Don't miss it! They all speak perfect english. Rome was in absolute mayhem when we visited-Champions League madness, Circus Maxus closed, buses canceled, and massive protests blocking streets. After fighting through the chaos in a taxi to Via Appia Antica, we stepped into what felt like another world. The owner greeted us with warmth and humor, setting the tone for the evening. Unlike the hectic city center, the terrace was serene-it was just our table and one other-making it the perfect escape. Ignore any negative reviews claiming this place feels "artificial." The owner's passion is real, from the way he shares stories (like the history behind the ancient cheese spread) to how he happily accommodates special requests we both had. This isn't a tourist gimmick-it's a genuine love for reviving Rome's forgotten flavors and sharing his passion with the guests. The food? Extraordinary. The tomato-less lasagna (straight from Apicius' ancient recipes) was so good I wished I had another plate. Must-try: The ancient wine pairing-it elevates the whole experience. Sadly I orded it after the food. Every dish came with a tale, transporting us further back in time. As our last night in Rome, this wasn't just dinner to wrap things up-it was the perfect finale, a true cherry on top. We recommend the place to everyone that comes to rome and is interested in a little historical time travel. But i advice everyone to plan their way back in advance as it is far out and public transport tends to become unreliable towards midnight!

08/06/2025: This is the most adorable restaurant off the famous Via Appia Antica. The service was always with a smile and very friendly. The food was delicious and served hot. We had the place to ourselves on a Friday at lunch around 1pm. Don’t let the 150m walk down the driveway discourage you. Go, you will not be disappointed!

10/03/2025: I recently visited this lovely restaurant in Rome while traveling solo. The crème brûlée was absolutely amazing! I wanted to capture a photo of it with the fire, but it had gone out. Luckily, I think the person’s name was Laki (or Landi , I might not be remembering it correctly), but he was incredibly kind and and brought me another crème brûlée with the fire just so I could get the perfect photo. The service was exceptional, and I truly appreciated the warm hospitality. I’m giving 5 stars because of Laki’s help. Highly recommend this place!
