The place is small but original, with paintings and other items for sale on the walls.
We ordered a trio of bruschetta with cherry tomatoes, caponata, and green beans, then cacio e pepe and provola donuts with slices of prosciutto, French fries, chicory, water, and 1/2 cup of red wine. We paid €40. The owner, Leo, is a delightful person, and kept us laughing all evening. The waitress, Valentaina, was excellent at serving and setting the tables, and at supporting and "tolerating" Leo.

A typical Italian restaurant with superb pasta carbonara; I highly recommend it. However, it's best to book ahead as it's small.

Found this place near my Airbnb by accident and was very happy to do so. The atmosphere is calm, contained, and friendly. The food was amazing; hoping to come back for more while visiting.

I felt compelled to write this review 15 minutes after dining at Osteria Antichi Sapori.
A no-frills restaurant, forget about being chic and refined; you come here to eat, and you eat!
The place is small, the tables are close together; some might feel embarrassed struggling to get to their table, but that's part of the experience.
Everything on the walls is for sale; everything Leo shows you, Leo sells you.
The food is Osteria-quality, generous and delicious portions, satisfying the palate and filling the belly.
The service is the epitome of feminism. I don't know the name of the woman who runs the dining room alone, but she's a "machine." She does everything, does it quickly, and does it well. She welcomes guests, clears the table, serves dishes, provides information, and runs the cash register, speaking multiple languages. All at a rapid pace.
This is her job, and she does it well.
I hope he earns what he works for! 😁

Are you looking for a traditional place with traditional food in Roma? You don’t need Trastevere. You need Leo.
Enjoy the smallest greatest restaurant outside used, popular neighbourhood.
