25/02/2025: A pleasant and tasty discovery. We were recommended this restaurant in passing. High quality products and prepared as they once were. Excellent matrix. As if we had lunch at home. The friendly staff. Then the owner, Mr Carlo, an evergreen 84 year old, friendly and nice. Historic places like this should be a world heritage site. And finally a trifle made by Mr Carlo's wife, spectacular. I recommend it very much. We will be back. Thank you

29/03/2025: Se proponi una spigola al forno, non puoi dimenticarla fino a farla diventare amara....un plauso al cameriere che se ne accorto. Il titolare uomo di poca sensibilità, attacato ai soldi ma non tenendo in considerazione il fatto, ha perso 2 clienti.

Realmente una delicia en la experiencia culinaria romana, combinada con una increíble selección de vinos y un ambiente animado y único italiano. Cada plato que mi familia probó era fresco y preparado más que bien. Siempre visitaré aquí cuando esté en la ciudad y cualquiera que esté en Roma debería tomarse una noche para disfrutar de todo lo que Trattoria tiene para ofrecer. Gracias a Roberto por la recomendación que transmite fue el mejor lugar que comimos en toda Italia.

16/03/2025: Grande gentilezza e professionalità in un locale storico superlativo. L'amico Alessandro ci ha molto ben consigliato questo locale romano ove si può mangiare squisitamente assistiti da premuroso personale. Essendo intollerante al glutine mi hanno modificato appositamente una pietanza. Tipici carciofi ed abbacchio cucinati superlativamente. Baccalà delicatamente buonissimo. Costo modico e qualità / prezzo eccellente. Ci tornerò molto volentieri e ringrazio ancora l'amico Alessandro!

01/04/2025: Classic Roman trattoria with a very friendly host who knows how to do his job very well. It's a shame that the first courses aren't all the same, even if they were the same dishes. In practice, there was one with more or less seasoning, if they were all seasoned with the same amount of sauce it was better.

31/03/2025: We stopped in for dinner on Saturday night since we were staying in the area. As a first piece of advice I urge you to look beyond the external appearance of the place which leaves a little to be desired. In reality the environment inside is discreet, above all clean. It is a trattoria that offers typical Roman cuisine, so the main dishes are tripe, coratella, beans with pork rinds, pasta with traditional sauces (also offered with some variations) served in generous portions. For the second courses, which I won't judge because we didn't take them, mainly grilled meat is offered. There is also pizza which, judging by the pasta we were able to taste with the cold cuts, shouldn't be bad. The food isn't bad, I'm not going to tell you that there is better, but there is certainly a lot worse in Rome. Let's say that all in all I would go back. The service is typical of a Roman trattoria, therefore folkloristic, but fun and above all efficient. Maybe just a little slow. Prices a little higher than the average for the area, but it's not clear to me whether the price was the same for us tourists (11 of us paid for some appetizers to share a first course each, 4 bottles of wine, I don't remember the water, 6 coffees, 7 bitters and 2 desserts, 32 euros each) or whether it's the same for everyone since the menu is there and was recited by the owner and therefore we didn't see the prices. It goes without saying, for a Venetian 33 euros are not enough, accustomed to our prices, but they are certainly above the average for that area.

11/04/2025: Typical Roman trattoria, family staff and Roberto explains the menu "vocally", like in the past! The dishes are homemade but good, without too many pretensions. The tomato roll and baked peppers are excellent.

07/04/2025: Had dinner on April 6, 2025. Traditional tasty and high-quality cuisine. If you want to find yourself in a simple, typical Italian catering establishment, this is the place for you. The price will pleasantly surprise you. The staff is polite and neat. I recommend it.

We had coda alla vaccinara, puntarelle, artichokes alla romana, the inevitable rigatoni alla carbonara and tonnarelli cacio e pepe. There are still so many things that I want to try next time 😊 I highly recommend it

25/03/2025: So, what happened was that we initially planned to go to a popular restaurant recommended by foodie friends. However, the waiter there had a rather unfriendly attitude, and we didn’t feel like staying. We wandered through the narrow streets of Rome for a while and stumbled upon la Campana - the best thing that could have happened to us! A truly authentic, old-school Italian restaurant. We ordered fresh truffle pasta, tiramisu, and wine, and everything tasted absolutely amazing. We got exactly the genuine Italian restaurant and food experience we were looking for!

12/04/2025: This gem is so simple one might easily walk past, as it lacks the usual screaming frontages of many traditional Italian eateries. The service is warm and inviting, the outdoor terrace is open air but walled, providing intimacy with fresh air. The food is sumptuous. I ate the aubergine (eggplant) parmigiana to start and followed with a traditional cacio e pepe spaghetti with homemade pasta. The tiramisu to finish was rich without being too thick or heavy, and boasted its rich egg content by virtue of its bright yellow cream. It was easy to each lunch here with a 2 year old. They provided a high chair and were happy to change the cacio e pepe recipe to remove the pepe (pepper) and even made the pecorino cream less strong than for an adult. Verdict: highly recommend. Do not hesitate if you want beautiful food and genuine service without the tourist vibe.

06/04/2025: Ero già stata in questa trattoria due anni fa e sono tornata molto volentieri. L'atmosfera è quella tipica dei locali frequentati da turisti ma anche dai romani, cibo tipico della tradizione di buona qualità e in quantità abbondante, personale cordiale e professionale, prezzi nella media. Vicino alle principali attrazioni di Roma, a pochi passi da piazza di Spagna... ci tornerò sicuramente al mio prossimo viaggio nella Capitale
