20/03/2025: Thanks to its presence on many lists of recommendations, despite the very central area (we are between Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori) and in the midst of many tourist-catching places with a lot of bouncers, our post-marathon lunch in Rome takes place in this solid and absolutely recommendable restaurant. With a tried and tested system for managing reservations (from memory the table is reserved for two hours: there is no rush, but it is clear that the place relies on a constant influx and turnover), the room is relatively quiet and spacious. The tasting menu is surprising for the quality of the raw materials and for the absolutely honest price (34 euros). Trio of appetizers, a first and a second course to choose from three cornerstones of Lazio cuisine and the dessert of the day. Fair portions, but excellent balance of flavors (in my scorecard tops for carbonara and beef cheek). There is also the option of eating à la carte, perhaps with slightly more generous portions. Both the bread basket and the wine list are good. The demonstration that you can make excellent catering even for tourists, without declines and at a fair price. Congratulations

14/04/2025: I pass by it every day but have never managed to come and try it. As a Roman, I was very curious about what I saw from the outside, a tiny place with a few tables and paper tablecloths. In short, the classic Roman tavern and, as a classic Roman tavern, it promised very well. Tonight I made it, I managed to try it and I must say LUCK!!! Welcoming, hospitable and the food, well, need we say it? Pure Romanity, I am very happy and will return as soon as I can. 10+

28/03/2025: Perfect dinner! Very good (and strong) aperol spritz, and the straccetti de manzo was delightful. tasty appetizers as well, and service was great

26/03/2025: The service and atmosphere were excellent. Unfortunately the food was inedibly salty. We had a fair sampling of the menu (Artichoke and Mozzarella, Carbonara, Pumpkin Stew, Guineafowl Stew, and Beef Rolls) and nobody could finish due to the salt content of the dishes. Sorry to say it was not better. That said, very friendly staff and the atmosphere was a nice change of pace from the more hectic dinner options all around Rome.

31/03/2025: Let's start from the end: 170.00 for two, but with only one starter and one dessert. So we're talking about a restaurant costing 100 euros per person for a complete meal with an average drinkable bottle of wine. They also have a Sassicaia on the wine list. Definitely high expectations which unfortunately were dashed by a series of errors. I deliberately don't go into details but from a 'premium' restaurant I only expect to enjoy their delights, however in our case, this was not the case. The paccheri are good... 5 (stars)... pieces as in the photo. I don't think we will return.

If you really want to find a flaw in the menu, it could be the absence of pajata and coda alla vaccinara. Courteous staff and excellent service. Carbonara, cacio e pepe and artichokes at the top.

30/03/2025: Stumbled upon this restaurant on a Saturday night in Trastevere and it was one of the best meals we had in Rome. Lines at surrounding restaurants were insane, but at this one we were able to get right in; so don’t be fooled by the hype of the other places. The entire meal was fantastic, I especially recommend the tuna appetizer and the clam sauce pasta. Wine was also the perfect temperature and served in the proper glassware. Will definitely be back!

14/03/2025: Il locale si presenta bene......Fine. Un proprietario, che serve ai tavoli, probabilmente con molti problemi personali, forse gli affari non devono andargli troppo bene e si capisce il perché. Un secondo con 15 gr. di baccalà è un insulto, non solo al cliente, ma anche alla ristorazione. Per il resto....evitate, tanto presto chiuderanno...e addio.

20/02/2025: Crushing disappointment. Following the reviews of other users, I had the idea of ​​a restaurant that offered quality with a fair price ratio. Nothing could be more wrong, unfortunately! The two of us take a fried artichoke with an egg inside and a plate of ravioli filled with Chianina and seasoned with chive sauce, truffle and red wine reduction. This last dish is terrible both in its conception and in its execution: the sauce is nothing more than cream (not indicated on the menu) in which the raviolone has literally been drowned as if it were still in the 1980s! The very vague truffle comes from some commercial jar and the filling is completely tasteless Chianina meat. The second courses, sea bass baked in foil and duck breast with walnut reduction and crunchy fennel respectively, are not bad. But be careful: just like the first ones, they arrive less than 5 minutes after receiving the order. Impossible for dishes that require much more time and a sign that everything is pre-cooked and heated on the spot. Commercial cream of the kind sprayed on dessert and a 14 year old Oban which is saved only because it is made in Scotland and not prepared by the "restaurant". Well-stocked cellar, of course, amazing selection of spirits, without a doubt, but in a restaurant what matters is the food. Ghost waiters who seem to be there in passing, one of whom repeatedly touches my shoulder to point out the liquor on one of the shelves of spirits that surround the entire place. You never touch the customer, it's a basic rule that they teach in the first year of hotel management. All for the beauty of 135 euros for two. Expensive, but above all not justified by what was served. Lots of smoke and very little roast
