18/03/2026: This is our favourite place in Rome hands down. We have been coming to Papa Rex since 2018 and we recently went twice in February 2026. The food is incredible and good value. The restaurant is large and spacious and has a nice atmosphere. The servers are amazing. So friendly and professional and look after you so well. Special thanks to Marco and Daniele who looked after us last month. We went as a family of four and a large group of 14 and it was so special both times. Next time I am in Rome I am just eating here every night.

01/04/2026: A superb lunch at this restaurant, frequented mainly by Italians. The pasta prepared in a Parmesan wheel and the tiramisu made fresh right in front of you are two exceptional and delicious dishes 🤤 The atmosphere and service are warm and welcoming in a charming cellar setting. Go without hesitation!

22/03/2026: On a chilly Sunday, we looked for a classic Roman restaurant in the area. They hosted us outside, I must say well-equipped, even with nice overhead heaters. We were tempted to order several appetizers: chickpea soup (good but slightly bland), eggplant tart (excellent), cod fillet (excellent), Roman-style artichokes (and I'm sorry to say they were tough, hairy, and not very flavorful—a shame because I was craving them), tagliolini with artichokes and speck (in our opinion, too much oil and salt, and the artichokes were the same as above). As an entrepreneur, I enjoy going to local restaurants, but we need to work to improve. It's a shame that I wasn't asked for anything, even though we sent the artichokes back as soon as we tasted them (and paid for them), and I didn't ask for a discount or complain.

18/03/2026: This lovely restaurant is located in Rome's historic center, just steps from Campo de' Fiori. The characteristic, well-furnished and well-maintained rooms welcome you with courtesy and expertise. The menu offers excellent traditional classics, beautifully presented and accompanied by a good wine list. The price/performance ratio is very good, considering the area. We'll be back!

12/03/2026: The food was great at a decent price given the location. Quattro fromagi pizza was delicious and caccio a pepe were good too. Service was quick although a little cold, which I don’t mind. I’d highly recommend for anyone looking for a good spot of lunch around the colosseum.

15/03/2026: My girlfriend and I had lunch here and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is very close to Gemelli Hospital, so it's easy to get to and could be a wonderful discovery in the area. The place is very cute and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to dine outside and had a great time. From the start, the waiters were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming: they welcomed us warmly, promptly brought us menus, and made us feel comfortable throughout the meal. We started with a Jewish-style artichoke for two, and it was truly exceptional: probably the best I've had in Rome so far. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I eat gluten-free, so I ordered a gluten-free matriciana, which I found to be very good, tasty, and well-prepared. It's not always easy to find a well-made gluten-free dish, so I appreciated it even more. My girlfriend had a carbonara, which was very creamy and truly excellent. We also had grilled lamb with potatoes and chicory, and this dish was also very good, tasty, and well-prepared. You could taste the quality of the ingredients and the care taken in preparing them. The total bill was €55, a price we found absolutely fair for what we ate, the quality of the dishes, and the service we received. Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience and it's definitely a place I'd happily return to. Five out of five stars, in my opinion.

23/03/2026: We had breakfast here and found the food to be okay, but the service was disappointing. Our server was audibly annoyed when we requested two items and did not check on us during the meal. We’ve had great experiences in Rome, but unfortunately, this was an exception.

02/04/2026: Everything was perfect! We were looking for an authentic, non-touristy restaurant in the Monti district. After searching extensively, this trattoria won us over! The brothers who own it are welcoming, their typical Italian food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable! Go without hesitation!

21/02/2026: I'm giving it one star only because it's the only way to give it less. DO NOT GO! We were in Rome with a large group and had dinner reservations here for five days. The service is terrible: they forget your dishes and even make fun of you. Our menu included a first course, second course, and dessert: • First courses: Acceptable, normal pasta and quite good. • Second courses: Disastrous. Meat and chicken were dry and flavorless. They served us pork loin that seemed recycled from previous meals, accompanied by a questionable "sauce" made of flour, oil, and water (in what world would that be a sauce?). • Desserts: Served in plastic cups and spoons (would having normal plates be a bad idea?). One day they gave us tiramisu that was the worst I'd ever tasted: a suspicious color and a terrible flavor. It didn't even taste like tiramisu. The prices are exorbitant for the quality of the food and service. The place is falling apart: it's dirty and unkempt, and a good clean wouldn't hurt. I've been to Italy several times and always ate well; I'd never found such a lousy place until I set foot here. You can eat better at McDonald's for €2. I'd be ashamed to have a restaurant like that in a country famous for its cuisine. THANKS FOR NOTHING. I WON'T BE GOING BACK HERE AGAIN.

09/03/2026: Discovered this new place in the heart of Garbatella. Delicious and tasty food, a menu so varied it's almost hard to choose, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A true gem of vegan cuisine, we'll be back soon. 🌱🫛
