We discovered this restaurant thanks to a recommendation from an Italian host and decided to go without hesitation. We arrived at 12:30 PM, but the owner told us they opened at 1:00 PM. So we waited 30 minutes in a nearby café.
When we returned at 1:00 PM, we found that customers were already seated and several tables were empty. Yet, he asked us to come back at 2:00 PM, without any explanation.
Frankly, they are the rudest people we have ever met.
If we had seen the reviews beforehand, we never would have gone. A very bad experience on our first day in Rome.
Of course, you don't wait to pay for this kind of disrespectful behavior.

The places to eat or have an aperitif are truly overpriced.
With an aperitif, you don't even need two chips or peanuts.
07/07/2025: I expected more stalls with books and interesting things, instead I only found the usual things to eat that you eat in the common pubs, and stalls with objects that you can buy for much less in the markets....
Then walking along the Tiber an unpleasant smell of sewers.
Disappointing...not to mention the buses that skip trips and the metro with rude people, sleepers on the seats occupying 4 or five, homeless people, and at the stops no type of control by the armed forces. Practically anything can happen and no one sees anything.

11/01/2026: We really liked our room here. It was in a great area to walk to all the attractions. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars was because the beds were a little to hard for us. The restaurants and shops outside our room was pretty loud late into the evening. The walls are thin so expect to here others but not too bad. The bathroom is small but had everything you needed. I would say if you're a larger person it would be tight. We're small peeps so it wasn't an issue for us. Overall nice place to stay.

04/06/2026: Cute little location with lots of seating so getting a spot was little problem. Food was great! Especially the meatball entree with a nice rich tomato sauce . Pizza also great crust. Service was very slow was only complaint. Waited a very long time to get just our drinks.

02/06/2026: I don't often go to "Fraschette" for lunch or dinner, but believe me, it's been a while since I've eaten so well!!! Everything was delicious, from appetizer to dessert, a welcoming atmosphere, and very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!
02/06/2026: The service was way too fast. We still had our appetizers and the main courses arrived. I've had better carbonaras. Porchetta was very cold. Overall, I didn't like it.

11/06/2026: This is a truly wonderful place with excellent service and a great presentation of Alfredo pasta. You can tell the restaurant's history from the celebrities on the wall. It was an honor for us to sit at the table where Voldemort once ate pasta. I recommend trying the tomato plate and bruschetta bread as an antipasto. The photos are mine. Reservations are required.
11/06/2026: We had to wait in line because we went without a reservation. It had just opened after lunchtime, and since everyone with reservations had just been seated, we waited quite a while even though we were first in line. You need to be prepared for this; you constantly wait in lines in Rome, and this can sometimes be exhausting. We went for the Alfredo pasta and tried it. It was very good, delicious in taste and presentation. Would I go again? No, but it was worth trying once. Also, while waiting in line, they offer you a tasting menu so you can get in right away. When we declined, they had to seat us for the à la carte menu. Despite the negative aspects, my overall rating is good because it was good.

16/06/2026: The food was expensive and unpalatable, but that wasn't the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that some of the staff were incredibly irritable. I asked what a dish was like in English, but the server only said one sentence, took the menu, and left, leaving me unsure if the dish had been ordered. Later I discovered it hadn't been ordered at all. I don't know if the server was in a bad mood, or if she was just annoyed with customers who didn't speak Italian, or if it was discrimination?
14/06/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant today.
The place is clean and well-kept, the staff is friendly and attentive (especially Gianmarco), and the food is delicious.
I recommend trying the squid ink tortelloni with cuttlefish and shrimp in a seafood carbonara sauce—a truly exceptional dish!
We'll definitely be back.

05/05/2026: Very friendly, relaxed, and personal. That's exactly what I imagine a small, authentic family-run business to be like. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. If you're looking for a relaxed and authentic meal away from mass tourism, this is the place for you.
03/05/2026: My friend and I went and they gave us overcooked rigatoni alla matriciana, which was obviously reheated, and after 5 minutes they served fresh pasta to all the tables near us. Didn't we deserve a decent meal too? Rude!!

09/05/2026: My wife and I had a perfect evening at Grottino 1912. We started with an excellent egg with tuna sauce, followed by a creamy carbonara and textbook Roman-style involtini. The zabaglione and biscotti finale was the icing on a truly memorable dinner. Authentic Roman cuisine, just like it used to be. The atmosphere is quaint. We'll definitely be back!
07/05/2026: The waiters were completely confused and confused, the food was mediocre and the quality mediocre, the orders were wrong, and the dishes were lost... and the restaurant wasn't even full. "Sorry, we'll make it up to you," they said, but they forgot even that promise, not offering a cookie or a small discount. We enthusiastically chose the restaurant, but they're clearly better at marketing than at catering.

I ate very well: home-cooked food, authentic and full of flavor, just like homemade. Everything was delicious and prepared with great care.
The service was excellent: the staff were kind, fast, and always attentive.
It was a wonderful experience, I would love to go back!
