01/08/2025: The atmosphere and cuisine are fantastic. The Testa brothers and Jimmi, the head waiter, are truly attentive to their guests' well-being. Highly recommended.

16/08/2025: The first and only truly Roman restaurant we found during our stay, just steps from Piazza Navona and offering excellent value. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend stopping by, whether you're looking for traditional Roman cuisine or seafood.

04/08/2025: One of the few restaurants that serves Melanzane Alla Parmigiana as a main course, which was great. Excellent service as well. Would recommend both the dish and the restaurant.

13/07/2025: We finally managed to experience Zaraza’ a nice local restaurant in Frascati a beautiful city closed to Rome on top of a hill where at sunset you can literally see Rome underneath your sight It was a great experience especially if you want to experience something different which is away from the traditional and commercial places that sell mainly aperitifs, pizza & cold cuts As starters we have tried the homemade porchetta which was delicious however the presentation was a bit poor with some not fresh rocca leaves and 1 cherry tomato As main courses we had the homemade tagliolini with zucchini & zucchini flowers which were mind-blowing and the homemade chicken with tomatoes & red capsicum sauces We were extremely satisfied and impressed by the quality of the genuineness of the food The only note where there should be improvement is definitely the service, great job done by Marco at the beginning with the recommendations, however after serving the main courses we were left alone nobody came to check if we were good or ask for any feedback, they didn't cleared the plates and nobody asked for desserts so we decided to pay & leave The place deserves an 8 out of 10, especially at sunset time

14/07/2025: Don’t waste a precious meal in Rome here. Quite bland food - suspect the pasta isn’t fresh, and the risotto inferior to what can be made at home. Asked to describe the red wine offered, I was informed it was “very strong”. It was an acceptable Pinot Nero, but we were charged ten euros more than we were told the bottle was worth, and the bottle seemed to have already been opened before it came to us. Youll see similar reviews in recent weeks. They don’t want your business. Go elsewhere.

13/07/2025: Extremely average food and disingenuous service. The owner upsold us to a bottle of wine on the basis that it was better value than two glasses and then gave us a bottle that cost 10€ more than the price he had told us. They also charged 3€ for tap water on top of a cover charge of 2€ per person. Nothing about the food or service made this place worth it. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

19/08/2025: I like it because there's a bit of everything. I've eaten there many times, sometimes normal, sometimes a bit like that.

18/08/2025: Poor-quality, tasteless, and hard-to-digest food. Rushed service, both in bringing and removing dishes. The setting has great potential, but the architectural and decorative quality is poor.

05/09/2025: We had a very high recommendation for this restaurant off the beaten path near consular offices and embassies. It took us forever to find it and we had high expectations. When we arrived, the lone waitress was sitting at one of the tables looking bored. she gave us menues and then just hovered as though we should have known immediately what we wanted. We were the only patrons there at 7:30 pm. When we had questions, she could not answer. The first two things we tried to order, they were out of and she was not recommending the third! Even the manager came out and said, "don't order that." We finally settled on our meal and wine order. The manager very kindly sent out a complimentary meat and cheese plate. We were appreciative. But, it was very awkward as we were the only people there until almost 9, when we were getting ready to leave. The wifi was down. Even then, there were only two tables with people. The food was ok but not memorable. Perhaps it is the location, so far from the action. On a weekday evening, they likely don't get diners from the after work crowd, who were having apperitivo at Tartare, a lively yet sophisticated bar just two bocks away. We were disappointed and won't be recommending this place. But we wish them well and hope that they can turn things around.

27/07/2025: Nonexistent service. Once you enter the restaurant, no one bothers to approach you and ask. Once you're seated, you have to attract attention to order, otherwise you become part of the restaurant along with the tables and chairs. The food quality is mediocre. An experience to forget...

30/07/2025: I've been coming here for breakfast for several mornings, and the service is always very quick and friendly. I discovered this place by chance while visiting the MAXXI (National Museum of 21st Century Arts), so it's not a bad find, I must say!

31/08/2025: Sorry to say, but eating here wasn't a success. The Cado alla vaccanara/oxtail was rock hard. That meat should fall off the bone. It was probably braised far too short. The wine was acidic. The veal was dry with no flavorful sauce. The waitstaff was busy on their phones and chatting amongst themselves. While they were nice people, there's no professionalism or strong leadership. It's probably a cozy neighborhood restaurant, but don't expect too much from the food. Regarding the owner's response: You could, of course, blame your customers for a bad review. You could also learn from it and take responsibility yourself. For example, we know perfectly well whether waiters are working with their PDAs or texting, chatting, and not working.

28/07/2025: Terrible experience. The dishes came out without any logic. There were four of us, and each of us ate separately. The carbonara and saltimbocca were decent, but the fried foods were too greasy and the seafood salad was awful (which was taken off our bill) made for an unpleasant evening.

19/08/2025: Emilio. That’s the reason we’ll go back — and of course for the wonderful food at a fair price. When searching for the right spot, my priorities were clear: *** I wanted an authentic Roman restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, one that served true Roman cuisine and wasn’t overrun with tourists.*** Around lunchtime, I stumbled across this gem and noticed many locals enjoying their meals — always the best sign. I stepped inside to learn more, and saw even more locals! So after a quick greeting and a few words with Emilio, I knew immediately this was where we’d go for dinner. That evening, with dear friends flying in from California for their first night in Rome, the stakes were high — I wanted their welcome dinner to be memorable. I had requested a quaint table best suited for our group of six, and Emilio delivered. His personality shined throughout the evening, embodying why Italians are frequently known as the world’s most passionate hosts when it comes to sharing food and wine. We all selected widely different items from the menu, AND you know a dish is truly good when everyone insists others around the table taste it. But it was Emilio’s engaging hospitality that made the night unforgettable. **Many thanks, Emilio and staff — from all six of us. We’ll be back.**

09/08/2025: A historic location run by the same person for several years, with 1990s decor. It's family-run, and the cuisine is distinctive. The pasta dishes are good, although we weren't as impressed with them as other places.

20/08/2025: Nice place, nothing to complain about. We immediately had trouble with the waitress, who had temporarily lost her ability to read. A friendly manager came to our aid, and we went in. The menu was very simple, with a few sweet and savory twists, including chocolate (which surprised me given the concept of the place), and a €2.50 charge for bread (nice). I tried everyone's dishes, and they were always very bland. We ordered medium-rare fillets and one rare. When the fillets arrived, we realized that two were "blue" and one was "rare"... All this was accompanied by extremely slow service because a family was having a celebration of something "unspecified."
