05/07/2026: Don’t be fooled by the touristy location or the typically deceptive traditional appearance: this Place is a no-nonsense roman trattoria where you can still get what you pay for, and even get a nice discount! No wonder it may be packed at times: just wait for your turn or come back after a stroll in the beatiful Rione Monti. Much more advertised places are no match for this Fork (in italian, la Foirchetta)

15/07/2026: For the first time in my life, I experienced such a disrespectful, unprofessional, and humiliating experience in a restaurant. My friend and I were seated at our table, menus were left, and for a long time, not a single waiter came to take our order. Despite this, one waiter simply told me in a harsh and commanding tone that I needed to move my bag from behind my chair, then turned and walked away without any explanation. To understand the situation, I asked another waiter where I should put my bag. I expected a simple explanation and help, but the attitude I encountered was extremely rude and condescending. He practically snatched my bag from my hand and hung it on the table with a hook he pulled from his pocket. If the intention was to warn customers about potential theft, it would have taken a few seconds to explain it politely and courteously. No circumstances justify treating a customer like this. What was truly disturbing was that despite all this, our order still hadn't been taken. For minutes, we were completely ignored. We felt not like customers, but like people who were unwanted there. Of course, I don't know the reason for this attitude; However, they clearly made us feel that we were being treated differently, less valued, and less important than other customers. Causing a customer to feel this way is, in itself, a serious service failure. The true quality of a restaurant is measured not only by its cuisine but also by the respect its staff shows to people, their communication style, and their hospitality. Unfortunately, we found none of these here. This experience turned a pleasant dinner into an unforgettable and unpleasant memory. Therefore, I absolutely do not recommend this establishment. If you value yourself, your time, and your money, I suggest you choose another restaurant that treats its customers with respect and truly knows how to host its guests.

I cannot know the reason for the way we were treated, but it genuinely felt as though we were considered less worthy of respect than other customers. A restaurant should be judged not only by its food but by the way it treats people. Unfortunately, we experienced neither respect nor hospitality here. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. If you value being treated with basic courtesy and respect, I strongly suggest choosing another restaurant.

11/01/2026: We really liked our room here. It was in a great area to walk to all the attractions. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars was because the beds were a little to hard for us. The restaurants and shops outside our room was pretty loud late into the evening. The walls are thin so expect to here others but not too bad. The bathroom is small but had everything you needed. I would say if you're a larger person it would be tight. We're small peeps so it wasn't an issue for us. Overall nice place to stay.

20/12/2025: It's closed permanently, but now they throw kids' parties complete with balloons and ball pits. At least they could have taken down the "restaurant-pizzeria" sign at the beginning of the street.

06/07/2026: It was both terrible and expensive, though the ambiance was nice, but there were small bugs outside in the summer. If you have an enemy or someone you dislike, you could take them to this restaurant. As a tourist, my first meal in Italy was supposed to be authentic Italian pasta, which cost nearly 20 euros. It was incredibly bad—super salty and greasy, but the portion was quite large. I only managed a few bites before worrying about how to finish the rest. The two main dishes were also overly salty, making me constantly drink water. It was the most unpalatable meal of my entire trip.

03/05/2026: My friend and I went and they gave us overcooked rigatoni alla matriciana, which was obviously reheated, and after 5 minutes they served fresh pasta to all the tables near us. Didn't we deserve a decent meal too? Rude!!

27/04/2026: We visited this restaurant as a group of nine, paying €40 each for a menu that was disappointing to say the least. The appetizers were embarrassing: one round of eggplant, zucchini, and bell pepper each. The artichoke alla giudia was incredibly tough and badly fried, almost inedible. The first course was even worse: for nine people, only two small trays were brought to share, which were decidedly inadequate. The cacio e pepe was poorly made, overcooked, and practically devoid of sauce, while the gnocchi with sausage and spare ribs didn't solve the problem. To top it all off, despite there being nine of us, only eight tiramisus arrived (which were also of poor quality and not at all good). The icing on the cake? Heartburn that lasted all night. Terrible value for money and a complete lack of customer service. We will never return. In addition, the environment was poorly maintained and gave the impression of an unclean place.

12/04/2026: We were clearly very unlucky; it seems the "owner" had been feeling unwell that afternoon, and the sole waiter was acting as cook, waiter, cashier, and cleaner. The food was improvised (except for the delicious Jewish-style artichokes, the battered vegetables were also fine; the meatballs in tomato sauce had more bread than meat; the tagliatelle with ragù was more tomato than ragù and made with industrial-strength tagliatelle; four other dishes from the rather limited menu we ordered were sold out). The wait was obviously extremely long (over an hour for the first course), the bill was decidedly high considering the service (€25 per person for half an appetizer each plus one main course, with a quarter of wine for four, it's not a trattoria-style bill, especially not with this kind of food and service), and the cleanliness was very questionable. On a positive note, the waiter was friendly.

09/05/2026: My wife and I had a perfect evening at Grottino 1912. We started with an excellent egg with tuna sauce, followed by a creamy carbonara and textbook Roman-style involtini. The zabaglione and biscotti finale was the icing on a truly memorable dinner. Authentic Roman cuisine, just like it used to be. The atmosphere is quaint. We'll definitely be back!

28/06/2026: A nice place near the Parco della Musica auditorium in Rome. In fact, we stopped there right before a concert, having arrived early. There are indoor and outdoor tables, and restrooms are available. The staff is friendly and helpful, with quick service. They offer an aperitif menu for €16, which includes a drink, as well as various appetizers, pizza, fried foods, bruschetta... I must say the portions are quite satisfying. I recommend it!

16/06/2026: The food was expensive and unpalatable, but that wasn't the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that some of the staff were incredibly irritable. I asked what a dish was like in English, but the server only said one sentence, took the menu, and left, leaving me unsure if the dish had been ordered. Later I discovered it hadn't been ordered at all. I don't know if the server was in a bad mood, or if she was just annoyed with customers who didn't speak Italian, or if it was discrimination?

14/06/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant today. The place is clean and well-kept, the staff is friendly and attentive (especially Gianmarco), and the food is delicious. I recommend trying the squid ink tortelloni with cuttlefish and shrimp in a seafood carbonara sauce—a truly exceptional dish! We'll definitely be back.

09/11/2025: I'd give it a zero but I can't. Walked in at 2pm on a Sunday for only 2 people, only wanting pasta and maybe lasagna. They told us they had no tables. There were tables all around, inside and out. So I went inside and asked in Italian pointing to multiple empty tables. They said nothing. Bad service. Bad ristorante. Find another place to eat. We did. Love Italy, love Sicily but some people don't want to be kind, courteous or friendly. Skip this place!!

14/06/2026: I booked a table for five at 8:30 PM last night, Saturday, June 13th. Some friends and I were in the area to attend the concert at Shuster Park, which started around 9:30 PM. It was a NON-DINNER. Interminable waits, starting with the orders, which were taken about 20 minutes after we asked to order. We ordered a quick menu specifically for this purpose: various fried foods as appetizers and a chicory. Then three pizzas. Well, the fried foods arrived staggered; everyone watched one of us eat, otherwise, waiting for the rest would have made each one cold. At 10:00 PM, the three pizzas still hadn't arrived; we sat down at 8:25 PM. We pointed this out several times, and the manager or owner initially tried to argue, but then realized that our order was really simple: all fried foods and three pizzas. Nothing justified such a wait, which cost us more than half the concert. He agreed with us, but the idiots' reason, because we waited another 10 minutes. THE QUESTION IS: if you have a restaurant that seats so many people, you need to be able to organize a kitchen that can handle a full room. PERIOD. AND ABOVE ALL: if for any reason your organization creates inconvenience for the customer, you don't abandon a table to itself, you don't wait for the customer to complain and ask, but have something brought to the table to munch on to make up for the wait, which wasn't done despite our repeated requests to be able to eat. Not a single initiative was taken to apologize for the inconvenience. FURTHERMORE, NOT EVEN HALF A DISCOUNT... ARE YOU JOKING?
