31/08/2025: Sorry to say, but eating here wasn't a success. The Cado alla vaccanara/oxtail was rock hard. That meat should fall off the bone. It was probably braised far too short. The wine was acidic. The veal was dry with no flavorful sauce. The waitstaff was busy on their phones and chatting amongst themselves. While they were nice people, there's no professionalism or strong leadership. It's probably a cozy neighborhood restaurant, but don't expect too much from the food. Regarding the owner's response: You could, of course, blame your customers for a bad review. You could also learn from it and take responsibility yourself. For example, we know perfectly well whether waiters are working with their PDAs or texting, chatting, and not working.

28/07/2025: Terrible experience. The dishes came out without any logic. There were four of us, and each of us ate separately. The carbonara and saltimbocca were decent, but the fried foods were too greasy and the seafood salad was awful (which was taken off our bill) made for an unpleasant evening.

18/08/2025: The people who run the restaurant are admirably great. They solved a problem I had at the gas station across from the restaurant. They're incredibly caring and show concern for others and their problems. With people like that running the restaurant, it's sure to be a great place to eat. Thank you!

09/07/2025: ¡Éste nos tomó por sorpresa! Nos quedamos al final de la calle y ni siquiera sabíamos que existía este lugar, ya que cuando cierran, todas las mesas y plantas van adentro, por lo que parece una pared de graffitis y algunas puertas cerradas. Bueno, necesitábamos cenar más tarde debido a una excursión de un día que hicimos y decidimos ir a la cuadra. Cuando llegamos, todas las mesas de afuera estaban ocupadas, pero el camarero nos preguntó si queríamos sentarnos afuera. No queríamos esperar pero él se dio cuenta y dijo “es posible” e inmediatamente comenzó a traer una mesa y sillas afuera para nosotros, ¡QUÉ! ¡Y mejora, la comida era de primera, a un precio muy razonable y con un sabor buenísimo! ¡No dejes que el menú antiguo te engañe, el servicio fue uno de los dos mejores que hemos tenido en Roma y París la semana pasada y la comida fue excelente! No dejes que esto se te escape como casi nos pasó a nosotros.

14/07/2025: This was a delightful restaurant very near Roma Termini. The staff was fantastic and so was the pasta. My grandson had their caccio e pepe twice! He said it was the best!

12/09/2025: We stopped out of curiosity to try the dishes from the fraschetteria that won an episode of Alessandro Borghese's "Four Restaurants." Overall, we ate well; the dishes were tasty and well-served. One flaw was that the side vegetables were brought 10 minutes before the accompanying "abbracciato" (a kind of grilled pork shoulder) was served. It was decidedly unpleasant to receive the bill on a non-fiscal receipt, which, given that I paid in cash, makes one think otherwise (I only realized this at home when I picked up the receipt again).

12/09/2025: My complaint is about two things: the first is that we were still eating our appetizers when they served us the first courses, which, frankly, we sent back because we would have had to eat the pasta cold otherwise. The second is that after ordering the porchetta-filled ravioli, there was everything except porchetta; ricotta was used instead, and this is not professionally acceptable. The third is the poor, impolite, and unprofessional service from a waitress who, despite the mistake, made an annoyed, challenging face, as if the mistake were ours—shame on you. And let's not even get into the owner, who, knowing everything, didn't even come to apologize for his workers' mistakes. Luckily, they came first on the show "4 Ristoranti con Borghese"—imagine how they would have treated the people if they had come last. My one-star rating is even too high.

21/09/2025: Today I celebrated my daughter's baptism for lunch at Checco's and was thrilled with what they did! As soon as we arrived, despite the confusion (we had to arrange place cards, centerpieces, cake, etc.), they were patient in helping us find the best solution. They organized the aperitif outside on a terrace, a fairly spacious spot. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Everyone was very accommodating and super kind. I had a great time and will definitely be back.

02/08/2025: Conseillé par plusieurs nous y sommes allés assez méfiant mais le régal était au rendez-vous. Accueil chaleureux et sympathique : nous avons commencé par des anchois frits une « tuerie », puis des pâtes au homard un régal et au prix très raisonnable de 25€, et des saltimbocca. De la cuisine faite au moment , avec de bons produits: mériterait une récompense du Michelin

07/09/2025: Chaos and long waits, they forgot our desert and never arrived, we had at last ordered desert, 15mins later the waitress says “oh you were waiting for a sweet, I don’t even know if I have” so we just stood up paid and left

31/05/2025: Torniamo da Nonna Maria dopo un anno: l’atmosfera è la stessa e simile il menu (che, del resto, risente della stagionalità). Questa volta scegliamo purea fave e pecorino, tortino di pecorino, tonnarelli alla carbonara + cacio e pepe e porchetta con patate: tutto ben preparato e gustoso, ma non del tutto all’altezza della scorsa volta. Ovviamente anche lo chef può avere a volte qualche piccola defaillance, e dunque lo perdoniamo gustandoci un amaro Nerone. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo e sempre buono il servizio con personale cordiale e disponibile.

28/05/2025: Prenotato per 4 ( 3 adulti e un bambino), ristorante piccolo ma curato, lo valuto molto negativamente per dei punti secondo me imprescindibili. Abbiamo richiesto del vino in calice, ci viene portato via il calice e versato chissà dove, senza che ci ci venga comunicato quale vino fosse, al costo di 6€.. al momento del pagamento ( effettuato in contanti) il titolare si “dimentica” di emettere scontrino, ma stampa solo il promemoria. Il conto comprendeva 2 bottiglie d’acqua ( io ne avevo richiesta solo 1 ), acqua micro filtrata, senza che venisse menzionato da nessuna parte. Poi vista l’età di mio figlio ( 4 anni) ho chiesto se era possibile un piatto più piccolo, al momento dell’ordine mi è stato comunicato che non ci fosse nessun problema, il problema l’ho trovato al momento del conto visto che mi è stato fatto pagare a prezzo pieno. La qualità dei piatti nella media ma non può essere tollerata una così mancanza di rispetto verso il cliente.P.s: Attendo risposta

14/07/2025: Gran restaurante, la comida es increíble, tuvimos platos de pasta y una ensalada de gambas. Los desiertos también eran deliciosos, algunos hacían tarta de queso, panna cotta y crema caramelo. El restaurante tiene un ambiente encantador, sin duda recomendaría.

07/07/2025: Excelente lugar para comer bien en un ambiente agradable. Nueva visita a Roma y tercera vez que lo elegimos. Muy buena atención y muy buena preparación de los platos y postres acompañados por buenos vinos.

10/09/2025: Chose this restaurant to close our Rome trip and also celebrate my mom’s birthday. Staff was made us feel comfortable, and made my mom’s special day so memorable. Food was very good, and staff was very attentive, with an inviting spirit. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it for others! We had burrata with tomatoes, fried calamari, fettuccini Alfredo with truffles and caviar, steak with pate and caviar everything was just absolutely delicious!

09/09/2025: Service was poor, food was wonderful. The waiters outside weren't particularly interested in us. But we came for the fettuccine and weren't disappointed. It melts in your mouth! You'll gladly give up the rest. Very nice inside and out.

09/09/2025: I always come here for the quality of the dishes compared to the price, the gluten-free options on many items, and the owners Giuseppina and Domenico are very attentive to their customers, especially those like me who have three children. Highly recommended!!! Fish dishes are better than seafood!!!
