15/05/2026: A lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of the tourist area but without being overly touristy. The meats were perfectly cooked and very delicious. The pasta and appetizers, especially the artichoke and eggplant, were carefully prepared and tasty. Definitely make a reservation.

14/05/2026: Wonderful, one of the few real places left where you can experience the true Rome that's disappearing. The food is excellent and they're excellent. My friend and I had a great time and will definitely be back. Thanks guys!

14/05/2026: Our first dinner in Rome went badly. I see from reading other reviews that the owner uses the same tactic with tourists. At first, the woman seems friendly, but everything changes if you don't order wine or water. She doesn't say a word when she puts the dishes on the table. We ordered three carbonaras at 10 euros each, and she charged us 36 euros. We asked her how much the cover charge was, and she got angry and wanted me to pay the bill as quickly as possible, telling us in Italian, "anda de mia casa," which means, "Get out of my house!" The woman was very rude, the service was discourteous and rude. Honestly, I don't recommend it!

03/11/2025: A place worth trying. Simple, welcoming, and intimate. The food is good; the dishes are prepared with care and artistry, and they're generous and flavorful. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff sets it apart from other places, and Mrs. Virginia's warm spirit is as extraordinary and unique as her passion for cooking. Eating at LE ROMANELLE is like eating at home! Highly recommended!

14/04/2026: We went on a Thursday evening for the famous carciofata, but I was disappointed by the small portions and the fact that the artichokes were only a small side dish for each course. As an artichoke lover, I would have expected a nice Roman-style or Jewish-style artichoke, given the theme of the evening. But overall, I liked the location and the service. We'll definitely be back.

06/06/2026: A decidedly awful experience. The place seemed poorly maintained: the floor was so sticky that even moving the chairs was a pain. I wasn't convinced by the service either: despite the restaurant being almost empty, we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come take our order, only to feel like we were being hastily dismissed before we'd even finished speaking. Given the place's reputation, I was definitely expecting more. I ordered a Margherita with buffalo mozzarella, and honestly, it was one of the least satisfying pizzas I've had in recent memory: lacking flavor, ingredients that didn't seem well-balanced, and a tomato that, to my taste, tasted practically raw. Personally, I don't recommend it, especially considering that in the Flaminio area there are much better places to eat with better quality and more attentive service.

25/05/2026: Authentic Roman pizza! Thin and crispy with quality toppings. The food is also excellent. Highly recommended.

14/08/2025: I'll go by points to try to be objective: Food: far from Roman cuisine. The same seasoning as the bruschetta is found in the spaghetti with clams (with onion). The service was more focused on watching TV than on the service. Ambience: A family atmosphere, but after a while, you felt like you were in the way.

09/11/2025: I'd give it a zero but I can't. Walked in at 2pm on a Sunday for only 2 people, only wanting pasta and maybe lasagna. They told us they had no tables. There were tables all around, inside and out. So I went inside and asked in Italian pointing to multiple empty tables. They said nothing. Bad service. Bad ristorante. Find another place to eat. We did. Love Italy, love Sicily but some people don't want to be kind, courteous or friendly. Skip this place!!

30/10/2025: We searched high and low on the block vetween 57 and 67 and could not find this restaurant. Need better location information. Menu sounds great

06/09/2025: The food is excellent, and the young and very friendly staff are just steps from the center and the sea. There are a few tables outside, which are quite quiet. The price is fair for the quality of the food. We'll definitely be back.

06/09/2025: September review, so not high season. This restaurant is a mix of Ligurian and Roman cuisine, which is why it was chosen. When we arrived, we waited a bit for our orders to be taken. The bread wasn't the best; I honestly hope it's from the day before, because no Italian would ever choose a baker who offers hard, crusty bread that's truly difficult to eat. After a 1.20-minute wait, I tried to push for our drinks to leave. The couple at the table next to us had the same thought. At that moment, the waitress arrived with plates for another table and began by saying, "But if instead of 5 amatriciana and 1 gricia, I get 5 gricia and 1 amatriciana, are you going to blame me?" We were shocked, thinking, "Who would they blame?" Finally, our dishes arrived. Good food, eaten in a hurry and very hungry after an hour and a half of waiting. At the cash register, the waitress asked us if we liked the pasta and that the wait was due to the fact that it was freshly made. NO, it wasn't homemade pasta; it was certainly industrially made, good quality, but it didn't justify an hour and a half wait. They offered a liqueur, whether as a matter of course or to make up for the delay, it's unclear. Paying in cash, the receipt never arrived. Honestly, it was the staff's attitude that left me perplexed, almost their pride in making people wait with the restaurant half-empty.

14/03/2026: I have to say that under this new management, the restaurant is a cut above the rest. The staff is very kind and helpful. I ate really well, rediscovering those traditional Roman dishes of the past, and the meat was truly tender and flavorful!!! The bill was affordable. I recommend it to everyone. Congratulations guys!

13/05/2026: Intrigued by the fact that they had won 4 restaurants, we also wanted to try it. We arrived without a reservation and luckily a table was available and so far everything was ok. The waiter was very nice and polite but he forgot the wine..... the place was very small and one of the tables was practically placed halfway through the bathroom door. It was absolutely unfair to want to fill the place at all costs at the expense of those who had to eat with a constant coming and going of customers going to the bathroom, constantly opening and closing the door. I'll leave you to imagine the situation:(!!!!!! The appetizer arrived, presented nicely, divine porchetta, the rest was nothing exceptional. They forgot the first course. We told the waiter who very kindly went to inform the kitchen. After three minutes, raw and tasteless pappardelle arrived. My husband was shocked. I called and immediately complained, saying that the pasta was inedible and the waiter took it away, apologizing. (Of course, they didn't include it in the bill.) A coming and going of shouting waiters, too much chaos, not to mention the decidedly exaggerated prices for a "FRASCHETTA".

10/05/2026: I don't usually write reviews. But now I absolutely have to. Compliments to the chef. We ate wonderfully. My daughter had chicken cacciatore. Very tender and delicious. I had tonnarelli alla gricia, which I couldn't fault except that it was incredibly good. All accompanied by a local wine. I highly recommend it.

27/01/2026: Rude and disrespectful owner… the chat confirms it… I kindly asked if there was room and he replied like this… the place is dirty and expensive as hell… I deeply regret the old management… they are not worthy in fact they closed… shameful… only the waiters remained nice as always and I feel sorry for them…

08/04/2026: A very nice place that looks like you're going to have a great time and eat very well, but that's not the case. Poor service, unprofessional, slow, we felt neglected. The quality-price ratio is very unbalanced, and the overall experience was disappointing. A bad feeling and overpriced for what we got. A shame.
