Very friendly, relaxed, and personal. That's exactly what I imagine a small, authentic family-run business to be like. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. If you're looking for a relaxed and authentic meal away from mass tourism, this is the place for you.

The restaurant appealed to us at first. The prices were quite reasonable, so we thought: let's take a seat. The waiter, who wasn't very friendly, placed (or rather, threw) the crockery on the table. Opinions at the table were divided about the food. It was good, but there was absolutely nothing with the meat (no salad, no pasta, just meat).

I had a great time at La Tavernella. The staff was incredibly generous, and everything felt very welcoming. We had the cacio e pepe chips to start, followed by the mixed pasta platter (minimum for two), which was such a great idea😍I got to try a bit of every pasta I was craving, and I loved it.
It’s definitely a cozy spot for dinner, perfect for a relaxed night out.

Fantastic! A great place to eat near the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. Reasonable prices and hearty portions. The service was excellent; they were very attentive throughout. I would definitely return.

A must for me. I always try the meatballs and Roman specialties at this small, cozy place. Romans and Roma fans alike, it's a blast if there's a game on that evening... Must try.

They helped me choose when I was stuck between two meals, topped up my wine for free (idk maybe it was the end of the bottle haha), picked up my coat when it fell, and put extra chocolate sauce on my takeaway tiramisu… all in all I’d say 5/5

All the names on the receipts, door, menu and placemats did not match. Unfortunately we had to give it poor rating. One pasta was too oily, the other pasta tasted like boxed macaroni and cheese from kraft box, the cured meat added was rock hard and they substitute walnuts for hazelnuts in recipe. Ther pecorroni cheese was not significantly present but lots of parmesan cheese.

EXCELLENT from start to finish. Arrived lunch time. Filled with Romans. Our kids had lovely thin pizza. My daughter had the best mussel seafood pasta. I had an excellent bolognese. White wine had a sparkle to it. It was so good. We will return again on our 3 day stay. Family run who treated us so well. Looking forward to returning.
