I found myself at Enzo's for a reunion with "differently young" friends. I appreciated the dishes offered for their goodness and authenticity. The service was attentive, kind, and friendly. The location was basic, tidy, and clean. The atmosphere was authentic, with the usual friendliness that distinguishes this wonderful city. Thank you for everything.

We went on Easter Sunday. We had gnocco fritto with cured meats and a first course each with wine. Everything was delicious: lasagna, tagliatelle with ragù, and pasta with cream and sausage. Let's get to the desserts... the crema catalana and devil's cake were delicious (although there wasn't even a hint of cherries in the devil's cake; I understand it's not the right season, but I wouldn't offer it at this point), but I was shocked by the Barozzi cake, which is supposed to be a typical Modena dish. The first time I left a dessert, four of us couldn't finish it. It has a distinctive flavor that you have to like. Even though the base is chocolate, the result is more of fertilized earth with a hint of bell pepper. The restaurant certainly did a good job. I think the problem is the dessert itself (which isn't even sweet). Choose something else instead. If you're unsure, DON'T order it.

Excellent restaurant with gluten-free options. Gluten-free tortellini in broth, desserts, and they even have bread (schar). The atmosphere is a bit 1950s, but the staff is very friendly.

Excellent restaurant!! It's one of the few that still maintains tradition and history, located in the center of Modena. The staff is friendly and efficient. Personally, since I'm celiac, I noticed great attention to detail. I highly recommend it.

On the recommendation of a friend from Modena, we had dinner last night at Enzo's in the heart of Modena's historic center. The restaurant is spacious and has a simple, 1980s-style decor, but still more than adequate. The food was excellent, even though we hadn't had high expectations. It's a shame, however, that the portions weren't as generous as we'd expected. Customer service was friendly and courteous, with the dishes served promptly. The bill was overall reasonable, considering there were 12 of us, all very hungry and thirsty for wine. Recommended for those looking for a substantial evening without being too fancy. Reservations are highly recommended!

30/04/2026: Delicious, a fantastic seafood appetizer. My son loves the fried gnocchi, so much more than going to the beach. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back soon.

Hostaria La Frasca

09/03/2026: Legend has it that a place still exists in the heart of Modena, a tiny hideaway of culinary excellence where, upon entering, you're welcomed into one of the most authentic and traditional establishments. This small, intimate kingdom, a room with five or six tables, has been run dictatorially for the past 35 or 40 years solely by Signora Ada. In the morning, she goes to the Albinelli market to do the shopping, then cooks, serves, manages, etc. Just her and a unique passion. Exceptional dishes, always freshly made and never heavy. BUT THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR EVERYONE, BEWARE!!! There's a menu, but it usually directs you to the best of what the market has to offer daily, as she's the only one there, and therefore dictatorial. She'll make sexual jokes and thinly veiled innuendos that might make the uninitiated stiff. But that's part of the show and the convivial atmosphere that's created among the patrons. She's a unique character. Anyway, three appetizers: porchetta and snow peas, prosciutto and melon, cotechino and cabbage. Top. Tortelloni, and a main course of guinea fowl, shank, or whatever. House cakes, water, wine, nocino liqueur, and mokona coffee, or if you're among the last to arrive, go and drink it with her at the bar... €40. Excellent, light and not heavy, no less than the most prestigious restaurants in the city. A day out of the ordinary. Thank you, Ada, for your passion.
