The best of the best of the best of Modena's tradition. Tortellini and a trolley of boiled meats are mind-blowing. Simply the best. We go there for special occasions but also for dinners with friends. Best to book to secure a table.

Between the meat, sauces, and shortbread, all excellent, the boiled meats cart is perhaps the best I've ever eaten! The only shame is that the first courses weren't exactly thrilling. I'll be back!

Aside from the fact that they charged me for 4 covers, even though there were only 2 of us—stupid me for not paying attention—I had some delicious fried gnocco and amazing ravioli. The price is a little high, but considering it's homemade, it's understandable. Highly recommended... oh, and the lady could have smiled a little more...

02/06/2026: A true highlight of our trip to Modena - a fantastic host, wonderful food - indeed an experience not to be missed.
25/05/2026: The atmosphere is family-friendly and the food is top-notch. We took advice from the excellent Ada and left the small restaurant feeling incredibly satisfied. Aside from the bloated belly, we hope to return soon.

Trattoria la Pomposa al Re Gras

20/06/2026: Sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a great lunch with a wonderful Lambrusco. Great opportunity to try local cuisine in a casual environment, and everything was delicious.
19/06/2026: A very pleasant restaurant, a benchmark in Modena. The establishment offers a selection of specialties, all of very high quality, at a reasonable price. The service is outstanding. A very good restaurant to try.
