I had lunch with some friends in this historic restaurant. The fillet with balsamic vinegar was phenomenal, it melted in your mouth accompanied by a glass of sparkling Lambrusco. I tasted some excellent green lasagna and a good baked suckling pig. Rich choice of homemade desserts. The courtesy and friendliness of the gentleman who served us also made the meal very pleasant and friendly. Fair prices.

Excellent traditional cuisine and service

Let me start by saying that this place is truly iconic in Modena. It's on everyone's must-visit list, so it's definitely not a hidden gem! With that said, making a reservation is a must. When I arrived, I was seated promptly as my table was ready. I already had my eye on which dishes I wanted to try, so I ordered the Tortelloni with ricotta and spinach as a starter, followed by the Beef fillet with aceto balsamico. As you can see in the pictures, the portions are quite generous. While the Tortelloni's filling was somewhat overshadowed by the ragu taste, it still tasted delicious. The real star of the show was the fillet, ordered rare and cooked to perfection. Interestingly, halfway through eating, I found myself feeling full, but the sauce was so addictive that I kept going until I finished it all 😋. While waiting for my dishes, I noticed how efficient the staff was. Despite having only four waiters for the entire restaurant, including the outdoor seating, they managed to attend to everyone's needs perfectly. It's no wonder this place continues to be a big hit!

Cozy place reminiscent of the restaurants of the past. Good food and quick, friendly service. We recommend trying the Modena style cutlet.

Siamo venuti a cena molto curiosi di provare la cucina emiliana ma questo posto ci ha un po ' delusi. Piccolo e caratteristico si, ma la cucina non era all'altezza, forse ormai adattato alla versione turistica. La lasagna era tutta molla e davvero brutta da vedere (sembrava collassata su se stessa, a casa la puoi portare cosi, al ristorante no) e lo gnocco fritto era decisamente unto e non fresco (era duro, forse era stato fatto la mattina ). L'unica nota positiva che ci ha conquistato è stato un dolce tipico loro. Una sorta di crostata. Per 1 antipasto, 1 primo, 1 secondo , 2 dolci , acqua e caffè abbiamo speso 66 euro. Il giusto, ma non ci ha soddisfatto quello che abbiamo mangiato. Non ci tornerei.

Abbiamo trovato posto quasi per caso, alla sera a cena, perché a Modena c'era una manifestazione importante e la città era strapiena di turisti, come noi, e di gente del posto. E così è stata, " per caso", come avevamo trovato il ristorante, un cena rapida, ma indimenticabile. Abbiamo aperto con un "culatello con il gnocco fritto" da leccarsi i baffi, abbiamo continuato con le "lasagne verdi", appena sfornate, più buone che abbia mai assaggiato nella mia, ormai lunga "carriera" di gourmet, per finire con una "zuppa inglese" degna di tale nome. Il Sangiovese in purezza ha completato un ottimo pasto e il servizio è stato simpatico e, tecnicamente, ineccepibile. Complimenti sinceri!!! Roberto55
