Trattoria Aldina In Modena

Good pasta, we loved the lasagna. Friendly staff, mostly Italians eat here. We had lunch and spent just over 20 euro per person.

What a wonderful place! The staff were so kind and helpful, the atmosphere was busy and joyful, and our lunch was incredible! If you're visiting Modena, do whatever it takes to stop here for lunch.

We went to Aldina a little before noon. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, but it was crowded within 30 minutes. Popular for lunch. I had TORTELLONI ricotta e spinaci in burro e salvia o burro e pancetta - Tortelloni filled with ricotta cheese and spinach in butter and sage or butter and bacon. It was delicious. Our server Valentina was very good. Lasagna was good. Only problem we encountered was that we met another couple there (people we didn’t know and sat together). We asked for separate checks, but when it was time to pay, the cashier simply divided the check by 2. Not sure that it was understood to have totally separate checks. Oh well. It was good and I’d go back.

Trattoria Aldina is one of those places that still captures the true soul of Modena. Tucked away on the first floor of a historic building opposite the Albinelli Market, its dishes are based on the most authentic Emilian tradition. It's not a "perfect" place in the modern sense of the word: there are often lines, reservations aren't always possible, and service can be a bit slow at peak times. Wait times are long, and it's noisy. Another strong point is the quality-price ratio: generous portions, authentic ingredients, and prices that are still very fair for the quality offered. 💕

A truly excellent lunch at Trattoria Aldina, one of those experiences that makes you want to return even before leaving. You immediately feel the authentic atmosphere of a true Modenese trattoria, with dishes prepared as they once were, flavorful and meticulously prepared. We ate wonderfully from start to finish: the tagliatelle with ragù were truly exceptional, with perfectly made fresh pasta and a rich, flavorful ragù, just as tradition demands. The roast beef was also worthy of praise: tender, flavorful, and impeccably cooked. You can clearly taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion they put into cooking. The desserts were also a delightful surprise: excellent, beautifully presented, and above all, authentic, the perfect ending to an already fantastic lunch. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff for their attentiveness to my wife's food allergies. It's not always easy to find such well-prepared and helpful places, but here we felt listened to and cared for with great professionalism. They carefully recommended each dish, carefully explaining the ingredients and options, allowing us to enjoy our meal in complete tranquility. A special thanks to Giada, who was truly kind, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout our stay. Her professionalism and attentive service truly made the difference and made the experience even more enjoyable. Places like this truly deserve to be recommended. Kudos to the entire staff; we'll definitely be back!

A restaurant where you feel right at home. It's a shame my mom doesn't make such good lasagna. The waiters and chefs are super polite and approachable. Service is quick and efficient. The Lambrusco is top notch.
