Trattoria Aldina In Modena

Had a bit of difficulty getting a table as it says no reservations but somehow it’s fully booked. But we managed to get a table and were so pleased we did as the food is delicious. Authentic modenese cuisine. Friendly service. Cash or Italian bancomat only. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

The food is very good. The service was a little inattentive: we were two colleagues and we would have needed two separate accounts to reimburse the lunch. Without having asked, the bill arrived at the table, evidently because they had to close. When we pointed this out to him, the owner seemed a bit abrupt and annoyed, telling us that if the bill arrived it was because someone had asked for it and that in any case the separate invoicing must be requested first. Knowing that... However the food is good, I would go back.

A little hidden on the first floor directly opposite the market hall, we got very good, typical home cooking and an excellent house wine. Price performance is perfect.

Sono stato oggi a pranzo qui con un amico modenese che mi aveva lungamente parlato di questo ristorante di cui avevo sentito parlare persino durante una cena di lavoro in Albania. Un locale leggendario dove mi avevano raccontato che fosse necessario stare in fila per trovare posto, etc.. Oggi, forse perché pioveva, all'orario di apertura, ovvero a mezzogiorno, eravamo in tre coppie. Poi più tardi sono arrivati altri avventori ma all'una la trattoria ancora non si era del tutto riempita. Il menù è emiliano modenese (con escursioni anche al di fuori della regione), la preparazione del cibo è casalinga, come casalingo è l'ambiente. Abbondanti le porzioni: il tris di primi erano in realtà quasi tre pozioni, peccato solo che se si è in due bisogna che entrambi prendano il tris (invece magari di un secondo di carne). Buoni i primi come quasi ovunque in città; nella media i dolci. Anche i prezzi li definirei più medi che bassi. La clientela del locale è di tutti i tipi, non solo modenese, perché già sulla porta d'ingresso è affisso un menù bilingue in italiano e in inglese. Non mi ero accorto, consultando il menù scansionato, che non accettavano pagamenti con carte di credito ma per fortuna avevo con me il bancomat.

Era tempo che volevo venire a mangiare in questa storica trattoria. Troppo forte il tavolo dei single dove man mano che arrivano persone da sole vengono portate in un tavolo con altri come nelle vecchie osterie. Sembra di entrare in casa di qualcuno per come...
