We went with friends, we had reservations (luckily), the dining room was small but there wasn't a single free seat. In the other dining room there was a birthday party. We had a starter, main courses, and various side dishes. The pasta was all homemade, the tortellini were delicious, the lasagna was so thick it felt like bricks were made from the walls, the ravioli were plentiful, the tagliatelle for one course were incredible, they must have been at least half a kilo with a mountain of ragù. For the main course, pork cheeks and fried roulades. The pork cheeks were buttery, you didn't even need a knife, the roulades were nice and crispy and very dry. The baked potatoes were delicious, and the sautéed cabbage was just the right amount of spicy. To finish, homemade desserts and coffee—I don't remember if it was 3 or 4 carafes of white wine—water galore. We spent 30 euros for wine, except for the noise. Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Dinner with friends at a historic restaurant. I've heard great things about it. It's always packed, and there must be a reason. The food is good, the price is low, and the atmosphere is great. What more could you ask for? I recommend it to everyone! There were eight of us at the table. We had two large trays of first courses, each serving enough for four. Tortelli with butter and sage, and tagliatelle with ragù, which were spectacular. In fact, we ordered another tray and ate for eight of us. Then everyone chose their own meat dish; I opted for tripe. For side dishes, baked potatoes (delicious), balsamic onions, and peperonata. One dish of these side dishes could have fed eight people because they were so huge. My bottle of still white wine was Trebbiano; the others were Lambrusco. Dessert, coffee, and a bitter. Pleasant atmosphere; the only flaw was the table right by the door, and you always got a bottle of Sibbiola. Very friendly female service.

A 1970s-style trattoria serving excellent local produce. €20 for a first course, second course, and water. They don't have a lunch menu, but their prices are certainly competitive.

TOP restaurant! I was at the Modena racetrack for work, so we decided to go to this restaurant for lunch, and it turned out to be a great discovery! Traditional dishes like tagliatelle with meat sauce, gramigna, tripe, boiled meat, and more... The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. I recommend it for a business lunch!

Trattoria Aldina

03/05/2026: Everything was good and "plain," like a real trattoria, including the prices. On Saturdays, there's a long line to get in; reservations aren't allowed. I'm happy with the experience, but if I had to say I understood the reason for its success, I'd say no...
30/04/2026: Perhaps one of the most interesting places to eat in Modena, very authentic and quite unique, located on the first floor opposite the market. The food is excellent: the pasta is delicious, and the main courses are a good example of the local cuisine. The atmosphere is less touristy if you go when it first opens, but as the morning progresses, it gets very crowded and it's difficult to find a free table. The service is good, friendly, and attentive. I recommend it.
