29/12/2025: If you want to eat excellent Genovese in Irpinia, you have to go here. Without a doubt. But not only that. If you're looking for excellent Neapolitan cuisine, always come here. Besides the Genovese, we had the maritati (fresh mixed pasta) with Neapolitan ragù, complete with pieces of sausage, pork rind, and more. Both dishes were very rich in meat and flavorful. Not salty, balanced. Their antipasto of cured meats, mozzarella, ricotta, and other morsels, was also very good and just right. With the antipasto, they also served us the minestra maritata (which I didn't like, but I can't be sure because my mother didn't cook it, so it's not part of my tradition) and the chickpea and cavolo nero soup, which I didn't like, but that's just my taste. We were served an entrée of very soft zeppoline, excellent, and a mandarin orange that we found as a place card at the table, which was appreciated. Finally, coffee and a house liqueur were offered. Excellent service. I really liked the small, very cozy dining room, even though we were a bit cramped at our table, but we had a good time. I was satisfied. I wouldn't give it 5 stars because it offers mostly Neapolitan cuisine, and in the small village of Ospedaletto, I was expecting Irpinia cuisine. I give it 5 stars for the hospitality, without a doubt; the manager makes you feel at home without being intrusive. But still, I repeat, it's an excellent alternative to local Irpinia cuisine. I'll definitely return. P.S. Prices are slightly higher than average, but that's acceptable given the quality.

I have to say that for days I've received so many compliments from the motorcycle participants about the location we chose for lunch, and I told them that the compliments aren't for me or the location, but for the people who looked after us, cooked, and served us—you. We had a wonderful time, and I thank you again for your hospitality and kindness. 03/02/2026: For those who love rustic, wood, and stone, this is the right osteria-trattoria. The owner is friendly and kind. Super friendly and kind staff. The menu is varied, the food is excellent, and it's what you'd expect given the location. Excellent value for money. If I return to that area, I'll definitely stop by, but I'd love to have lunch with that fireplace lit. 😉😉

17/02/2026: Nice, clean, and tidy place. Good food. Good pizza. They offer a lunch menu during the week, which can be eaten in or taken out. Prices are reasonable.

20/02/2026: A good restaurant serving both meat and seafood dishes, with rustic yet friendly and efficient service. We arrived early and were served in a reasonable amount of time, but after a while the place filled up and they struggled a bit. The gnocchi with ragù were very good, with various pieces of meat, served in a small pan, and the ziti alla Genovese, grated with the classic grater, were also good, and even had a little meat, which isn't always available elsewhere. The homemade croquettes were decent. The desserts weren't homemade, but they chose the pastry very well: the lemon delicacy was better than some we've had on the Amalfi Coast, and the cheesecake was also good. The only downside was the croquettes, which were listed as €5.50 and were actually a full-sized. In any case, for what was quoted plus a bottle of mineral water, it was about €45, which I'd say was more than fair. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area; we also saw some lovely seafood dishes, which we'll try on a future occasion.

16/02/2026: On Carnival Sunday, we went to lunch at Orlando in Rotondi, following a friend's recommendation. The restaurant is spacious, the ambiance is simple, and the service was excellent. The first courses were delicious, both the ziti alla genovese and the gnocchi with sauce, enriched with meatballs, pork rinds, and tarachelle. The "padellaccia," a pork stew with potatoes and pickled peppers, a typical winter dish from the Avellino area, was flavorful and generous. The desserts were delicious, creamy and delicate. The bill was in line with the service.

11/12/2025: A trattoria definitely worth a visit! In the heart of Avellino, with private parking, is this historic trattoria owned by Mr. Enrico! Extremely friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and tables decorated with Christmas decorations. Friendly and attentive service, generous portions, and fresh ingredients, with a menu that changes daily based on availability. A must-try!

02/12/2025: I've been there years ago... and I can only say that I can confirm that the food is nothing short of excellent. The place is clean... the staff is extremely kind and helpful... the specialty is the food... My only regret is that I don't live closer to come here often. Excellent experience! The orecchiette were spectacular, the liver was delicious... I even treated myself to a dessert... pan di stelle... very good. I can't find any faults, there aren't any. If you ever find yourself in Atripalda... come here! You won't regret it...

16/12/2025: Forget the Cracchis, the Cannavacciuolis, the Iginis, and all the others who proclaim themselves master pastry chefs, flaunting their titles and charging through the roof for their creations: the panettone from the award-winning Romano company is absolutely unbeatable! Perfect leavening for unparalleled softness, and top-quality ingredients that give it heavenly aromas. Unfortunately, I live far from Solofra, otherwise I could also testify to the unfailing quality of the pastry shop and the attention to detail. Having personally spoken with Raffaele, I can be sure that professionalism is evident throughout their shop. I sincerely hope to visit them one of these days!
