25/06/2026: I strongly advise against it, and always check the prices before paying. Four appetizers on a plate containing a scallop, four marinated anchovies, octopus, and fried cuttlefish. Then a Sperlunga of fried calamari for four, a green salad for four, a portion of chips, a liter of house wine, a beer, a bottle of water, four sorbets, and three liqueurs, for a total of €190—a rip-off. I definitely won't go there again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

07/08/2026: The best panzerotti in Bernalda (and beyond!) ​If you're in Basilicata and pass through Bernalda, you absolutely must stop at "Simpatia." They offered us the best panzerotti ever! ​They're prepared and fried strictly on the spot, served piping hot, and made to perfection, following true local tradition. You can immediately taste the care and use of top-quality ingredients: they're incredibly crispy on the outside, and the dough is perfect on the inside. ​As for flavors, you're spoiled for choice: we tried the one with sausage and gorgonzola, and it was simply amazing, but the spinach and mozzarella combination was also excellent and delicious. ​The name of the place isn't a coincidence: the owners are incredibly friendly and approachable, and they make you feel right at home. It's also very convenient that they accept payment by POS without any problem. A fantastic experience, highly recommended for anyone who loves good, authentic food! We'll definitely be back.

26/05/2026: This place doesn't deserve any stars for the reviews. But the only thing it does deserve is the closure!! Before lunch, I wanted to use the bathroom to wash my hands, but it would have been much better if I had never entered. Basically, the bathroom located in the kitchen was full of RAT excrement 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. At that moment, I wanted to call the CARABINIERI and immediately run away from that disgusting restaurant. But unfortunately I couldn't, because I was invited by relatives. Be careful, guys... absolutely avoid this place!

03/05/2026: A family-run restaurant where passion and heart shine through in every dish. Exquisite people, excellent hospitality thanks to its founder, Giuseppe, and truly excellent food. Lunch overlooking the sea, enjoying a spectacular linguina alla pescatora, is truly priceless. I highly recommend trying it.

05/07/2026: Osaka Sushi Matera – We stumbled upon this place by accident because our kids were craving sushi. It turned out to be a stunning underground restaurant carved into the rock, with a wonderfully cool atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. For just €20 per adult (€10 per child), you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat menu with an incredible selection of sushi, noodles, dumplings, seafood, and many other dishes. We ordered a huge variety of items from all across the menu, and every single dish was absolutely fantastic. The fish was exceptionally fresh and of outstanding quality. They also offer a great selection of drinks. We were absolutely delighted with the entire experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Matera!

12/03/2026: A place that presents itself as a temple to local products, but which, in reality, turns out to be little more than a trattoria with Michelin-starred prices and decidedly average quality. The most emblematic moment? When asking for a little spicy food, after much rhetoric about local ingredients, a small industrial-strength supermarket bottle produced in another region appears on the table. If this is how local products are promoted...

13/12/2025: A quick but truly satisfying lunch. We had a fresh, well-balanced poke bowl with quality ingredients. The portions were generous and the flavors excellent. The restaurant was well-kept and the staff were friendly. Perfect for a light but tasty lunch break. Recommended!

08/06/2026: A wonderful Sunday beach experience. After relaxing under a beautiful gazebo, we were drawn by the smell of fresh fish and the crowds filling the newly opened restaurant, so we decided to dine in for the first time. The restaurant was packed, with professional, friendly, and welcoming staff. An excellent à la carte menu with daily fresh fish specials, accompanied by excellent wines from a southern Italian winery. Despite the crowds, we ate in a reasonable amount of time, but those few minutes of waiting were quickly forgotten after enjoying a selection of fresh appetizers (mussels with pepper, baby octopus, seafood salad), excellent first courses (pasta with swordfish and eggplant, fresh gurnard, and shrimp risotto), accompanied by sublime mixed fried fish, a grilled fish, and a delicious baked snapper. The only flaw is that we didn't take photos of the dishes, but we'll definitely be back soon. Recommended and a must-try!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

05/07/2026: We went for our 25th wedding anniversary and I was disappointed with the service. I had asked for the tables to be set outside when booking due to the time of year (June 23rd), but I found myself inside with the air conditioning so high that I could almost see the penguins wandering around the room. Eventually, I asked for them to set the tables outside, and with a low grumble from the waitress, they set the tables outside for me. The pizza was good, as were the fries and bruschetta. The service was terrible (and I was even kind), they were very slow. Not to mention one waitress in particular was incredibly rude!
