I had a mixed salad, but it wasn't very generous. My husband had a pizza, which also had very little on it. Disappointed.

A very good place, with a refined atmosphere and unique dishes. Recommended for both first and second courses, as well as pizzas. We'll be back.

"Fantastic experience in Matera! We tried the Spaghetto all'Assassina (seen on their official website) and it was perfectly executed, crispy and spicy just right. The selection of local wines was also excellent. Very friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. A definite must-try in the Sassi!"

From the appetizers to the main course, everything was good. The only flaw was that the shank I ordered as a main course didn't arrive hot. Anyway, it's worth a try.

A lovely place in the center of Matera. Clean and quiet. Friendly and very helpful staff. Average prices and a typical Lucanian menu. Highly recommended.

I wanted to test your version of Spaghetti all'Assassina: it definitely passed the test. Compared to the version from the capital of the dish (Bari), I found it here, but less "risotto-like" in the tomato sauce; personally, I'd suggest just a touch more scorching, but just a touch, to be close to perfection.
Both the parmigiana and the meatballs were excellent. An honorable mention goes to the signature dish: turnip greens with stale bread and crusco peppers, truly excellent. The beef carpaccio was also very unique and tasty, as were the fava beans and chicory, served in a curious little pot, enhanced by a "dusting" of red gold (crusco peppers) that gave it an extra kick.
To top it off, the sporcamuss were simply delicious. An excellent confirmation in Matera for those seeking authentic flavors with a touch of personality, with an eye on nearby Puglia. Do you want to see if they really annex Matera to Bari?!?!?
