15/10/2025: I absolutely do not recommend this trattoria... My first question is: do you take tourists or people from Bernalda who come to the town every year for idiots? Do you really think you're going to find them fools? We went to Trattoria da Fifina for the second time to try some local or homemade dishes, as is customary in trattorias. The lady who served us from the start made us feel unwelcome and even reacted very annoyed, leaving in her kitchen clothes and jackets. There's no menu in this trattoria. There's basically a blackboard with the price of the first and second courses written on it. The lady will tell you the more detailed menu of the first and second courses verbally. The first order, just for drinks, was already mixed up. The drinks were missing or incorrect. We're talking about simple soda cans. We asked for the menu and chose from various dishes, including an appetizer and meat main courses. Let's forget about the wait for the dishes, which is now a well-known fact in Italy. The appetizer arrived, looking edible, but it was anything but. The entire plate was soaked in vinegar. Then the cured meats, etc., were all covered in vinegar. Meanwhile, the pasta dishes also arrived. In addition to various other dishes, a pasta dish with vegetables had been ordered. (Unfortunately, you had to search for the vegetables, because there were none, or let's say very little, on the plate) for €10. To be honest, the flavor was good. After the pasta, the meat main course arrived. We ordered a mixed meat main course and a sausage-only main course. But do we realize that for the sausage-only main course shown in the photo, we were charged a whopping €14.00!!!?? That's absurd... While the mixed meat main course was also €14.00. The lady explained: "And the sausage also needs to be grilled." 🤣 Unfortunately, it started raining during the evening. The owner, unfortunately, didn't offer us a table inside to spend the rest of the dinner. In fact, when it stopped raining, the lady came over three times to tell us it wasn't raining anymore. She basically made us understand that we had to get up and leave. P.S. The atmosphere and bathrooms inside were clean.

21/09/2025: Overpriced for what you get. A mediocre panzerotto costs €6, not to mention the rest of the products. A tourist trap masquerading as a traditional bakery, with the bare minimum of service.

30/08/2024: 2 days before we were there we met the owner on our walk. Very very friendly. When we said we didn't have a vehicle she told us we should come at 7pm instead of 8pm when they open. We did that too and she gave us a nice place. We then ate bruschetta twice, wonderfully fresh small tomatoes with rocket and dried peppers. Then a pizza salami and a capricossa. We drank cola and shandy. We felt good in this pizzeria today. When we paid we had €27 on the bill for everything. At the end we wanted to say goodbye and thank you when the boss asked a man to drive us to our facility, 2.5 km away. Really great on the unlit streets, thank you Grazie. 16/08/2025: Wonderful beach. Plenty of space between the umbrellas, and the owners are friendly and available for any request. An oasis of tranquility and hospitality. Highly recommended!!!

01/06/2025: Pranzo da dimenticare.. 01.06. Il cameriere ha annotato la nostra comanda alle 14.. Ma aihme abbiamo dovuto attendere 2 ore per gustare un immangiabile raviolo cacio e pepe e uno spaghetto alle vongole( questo dal sapore buono). A una delle bambine (tra l'altro celiaca) è toccata una sorte peggiore.. Una pennetta al sugo completamente cruda(la cucina per azzittire le nostre bocche ha pensato di far uscire comunque la pasta dopo tutta quella attesa) . I camerieri non hanno avuto nemmeno la bontà di intrattenerci con acqua e pane.. La mia bimba per la fame ha mangiato tutto il pane gluten free della cuginetta. Ci siamo alzati affamati e pagando una cifra spropositata...ah dimenticavo.. Il ristorante cucina senza glutine ma bisogna aspettare che finisca di cucinare per tutti.. E dimenticatevi la cotoletta che è un must nel menù dei bambini se ci andate con un bimbo celiaco!

23/08/2025: You make us ashamed of being from Matera, first of all, because it's true that Matera has become untouchable, and often unjustifiably so. Then it also makes us angry if we're the ones being ripped off. For two, we consume a small plate of carpaccio for €5, a microscopic platter of cured meats and cheeses for €10. So far, almost normal... But consuming a medium-sized rib-eye steak, because I didn't have the pleasure of seeing it being cut, of barely aged heifer, completely devoid of marbling, dry, €47... FORTY-SEVEN euros. Mineral water. Total €70. The next day I ate fish at a seaside restaurant in Puglia, a full meal for two for €75. Shame!!

05/11/2025: Great restaurant with excellent service and location. I tried the Crapiata Materana, a traditional dish from the region, and it was outstanding. Highly recommended!

29/10/2025: Stay away from this place, it’s a total rip-off! We had two spaghetti carbonara dishes and a Glas of water each, and paid 50 euros. The portions were small and didn’t taste good, and they even added a 12-euro tip to the bill without asking. Save your money!

30/10/2025: What can I say!!! Fantastic place, and the food is truly delicious! It's become my favorite place! Kudos to the owner, Vito, who is incredibly kind. We'll be back whenever we can! A round of applause also for the fried crusco peppers, which not everyone knows how to make the most of! Crispy and cooked to perfection. I'm giving it 5 stars because I can't give more, but it deserves more! See you next time

When you meet him for the first time at his restaurant, you'll find a passionate, meticulous, and very organized restaurateur in his small, open kitchen, where he reigns supreme. He knows how to guide you through your choices, offering a rich platter of appetizers, enhanced this season with porcini mushrooms (which he himself picks in the Sila mountains), roasted and sliced ​​into carpaccio. The menu also features excellent first courses, just the right number (3), and a wide variety of meats that you can already enjoy with your eyes, all on display in the aging cells or at least displayed at the counter. The wine selection is good. The bill is fair. Thanks Vito, we'll definitely see you again.

08/11/2025: I visited this establishment in the early afternoon, regularly consumed food, and when it came time to use the restroom, I was denied access. The reason given by the indifferent lady at the counter was that the restrooms were "being cleaned" at that precise moment, that is, during full business hours and serving the public. I find this behavior not only disrespectful, but totally unacceptable for a business that serves food and beverages and is obligated to provide restroom facilities to paying customers. Cleaning that completely prevents restroom use during peak hours/afternoon (after a customer has just consumed food) demonstrates a serious lack of organization and attention to the basic needs of customers. Restrooms are not an extra, but a basic necessity. I will not return to a establishment that treats its customers this way. I advise management to review their cleaning policies, perhaps performing them before opening or on a rotating basis, without blocking the only available resource.

26/10/2025: We stopped just for coffee. The lovely waitress advised us on our choice! I had a delicious Crema al caffe. Fantastic! The only downside is the so-called Coperto added to the bill!

06/09/2025: A simply surreal experience. There were 12 of us, including 7 children, and we just wanted to order pizzas for dinner. I showed up at 7:30 PM to place my order and pay in advance: the response was, "We don't take orders. Come at 9:00 PM and we'll make them for you." Unusual, but I trusted them. At 9:00 PM I returned, hoping that at least the children could eat. The lady at the cash register—rude and clearly annoyed—didn't even have the courage to look in: she disappeared. After minutes of waiting, I asked the pizza chef, who started counting the dough balls and candidly told me, "I can't make them for you." No explanation, no alternative. Just a dismissal with, "Go ahead, there's another pizzeria." The result? A broken promise, no professionalism, total disorganization, and zero respect for families with children. I've never had a similar experience at any other pizzeria. If you want a quiet and reliable evening, the advice is only one: go elsewhere.

16/09/2025: Terrible experience. It felt like a coffee and beer bar that turned into a restaurant. Perhaps the worst place I've ever eaten. All the fish was definitely frozen and badly cooked. The service needs to be reconsidered, the wait staff definitely not up to the job they're supposed to do. The lobster packets should be renamed "some pacchero al pomodoro," the octopus tasted like chewing gum, the wine was even warm, the fried fish tasted like cardboard. We're talking about "nightmare kitchens." It's only worth a visit because it was the only restaurant open in town.
