03/05/2026: Excessive price for the place and for the food eaten, supplement for the gluten-free first course of 2 euros and for the dessert 2.5 euros (never paid for desserts normally gluten-free in any restaurant I've been to)

08/04/2026: I returned to this restaurant after some time, and I must say it remains a firm favourite. The atmosphere is refined, the welcome is warm but never intrusive, and the cuisine focuses on substance. The dish that struck me most was the homemade wild boar pici: simply spectacular. The pasta was fresh, just the right amount of texture, and held the sauce perfectly. The wild boar ragù was rich, flavorful, and well-balanced—the kind that feels like it was made slowly and with respect for the ingredients. You can clearly sense the great attention to the quality of the ingredients and tradition, without unnecessary frills. The portions are just right and the flavors are authentic, something that is increasingly rare these days. I'd been there before, including for an important occasion, and returning today confirmed those excellent impressions. A place where you can truly eat well, without compromise. Recommended for those seeking authentic cuisine, done properly.

04/05/2026: Hotel located in the center of Colle Val d'Elsa. As its name suggests, it was once home to the local paper mill, whose products could be transported to the port of Pisa because the Elsa River was navigable at the time, allowing access to all the then-known markets. The rooms are welcoming and kept very clean. The food is plentiful and good. Parking near the hotel is a bit difficult. Parking is available about 400 meters away.

04/04/2026: The fish pan was a wonderful experience, truly delicious and plentiful, served as it should be. The quality/price ratio was excellent, all topped off by the owner's friendliness and the kindness and professionalism of the staff, mostly women.

09/01/2026: I went in expecting to eat "meat," but instead I found a Chinese registrant... Since I was there, I went in anyway, and I must say I ate a lot and well at a very reasonable price. The place was frequented only by Chinese, and the customers looked at me a bit surprised... But the staff was friendly.

04/10/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant yesterday by chance. The wait staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, even promptly responding to our request to move and light the fire pit to keep our two-month-old baby warm. The food was excellent, the wait time was normal for freshly prepared dishes, and the wine was also worth it. They accept dogs and were kind enough to provide a bowl of water if needed. I really liked that the chef (and I assume the owner) walked around the tables to make sure everything was okay, but without being intrusive. I highly recommend it and thank them for the wonderful evening we spent there.

14/12/2025: I was taken to this restaurant by old friends, and I must say it was a pleasant discovery. The owner, Fabrizio, is extremely friendly and truly knowledgeable about welcoming guests. We ate really well; everything was excellent, from appetizers to dessert, and everything was paired with excellent wines. Well done, you deserve a round of applause!!!

14/12/2025: Today I had lunch at the minigolf course with a group of friends! I have to say, knowing Fabrizio, I had no doubts, but we were super happy, from the appetizer with above-average cured meats and crostini to the tortelli alla massese with delicious ragù, finishing with peposo (a 10 euro) and delicious fried artichokes! I can only recommend you come and try it; it's worth much more than my words!

06/12/2025: We ordered raw ham and spaghetti with seafood. We ate very well, but the service deserves special mention. The ladies in the dining room were truly lovely and attentive. Thank you, we'll be back!

14/11/2025: The atmosphere is welcoming, informal, and yet elegant. Delicious pizzas and delicious desserts. Super attentive and friendly waitresses. I highly recommend it! We'll be back. Maybe even for Christmas lunch or a birthday party.

15/06/2026: Tenuta di Santallago is truly beautiful and well-kept, but unfortunately our experience at the restaurant was disappointing. After being seated, we waited about an hour without anyone coming to take our order. I then approached a waitress to report the situation and was told she would be there right away. However, after another 30 minutes of waiting, no one showed up. At that point, we decided to get up and leave without having been able to order anything. It's a shame, because the place is worth it, but after an episode like that, the memory we take away from the restaurant is certainly not positive.

15/06/2026: Everything was good, including starters, main courses, side dishes, and desserts. The service was quite slow. Friendly staff, nice location.

14/03/2026: Every now and then when I'm in the area for work, I stop for lunch... Good value for money, friendly and helpful staff... Last time, I had a truly remarkable asparagus and pecorino risotto... Recommended

29/04/2026: Great family run trattoria,good selection of foods including lots of local dishes. Very friendly staff. The quality was very good and filling. Also a wide selection of local wines from the area. I heard they have the best pizzas as well. Definite recommend 👍

07/06/2026: Really loved it here! Our waiter was super nice and fast, the food quite delicious. Tried seafood pizza and one of the special pizzas and for desert some citrus sorbet. Really chill atmosphere with nice music. Would definitely come again!

28/09/2025: I've been eating pizza at this place for years..... this evening I called for 3 take-out pizzas and was told 10 minutes and they'll be ready..... so we rushed to get there and after 40 minutes of waiting I was told that I had to tell the pizza chef and that it was my fault....... this is not at all the way to treat people who pay you and expect a damn decent service....... absolute disappointment and there will be no next time, shame that less than 1 star can't be given.......

07/04/2026: A disastrous Easter Monday in a photo. Sometimes, if you can't manage a restaurant, it's best to step back. Sorry, but the place is very beautiful anyway.

07/04/2026: We went for Easter Monday lunch expecting that, being a holiday, the wait might be longer than usual and that a little patience would be required. Unfortunately, however, the experience far exceeded our negative expectations. The waits between courses were truly excessive, especially between the appetizer and the mixed grill. But what bothered us most was the quality of the food: the grill was burnt, dry, and incomplete, even missing the beef. Considering it was a "mixed grill," one might expect a full variety of meats, which was not the case. The side dishes were also burnt and dry, confirming a general lack of attention to the preparation of the dishes. Overall, the quality of the food was decidedly poor. Another negative aspect was the lack of communication from the staff: no one informed us of any problems in the kitchen, and only after we reported it were we informed about the delays. We also noted several service deficiencies: the meat knives at the table next to ours were changed, while ours weren't. The seats were dirty and the tablecloth had stains, details that significantly impact the overall experience. It's a shame, because the location is truly beautiful. The only positive note: the grilled food was removed from the bill, as it was burnt and inedible. A thoughtful gesture, but not enough to make up for an overall disappointing experience.
