27/04/2026: We had a wonderful lunch. The restaurant is typically Tuscan and very charming. The menu is very varied, from meat to fish, which I recommend. In the evening, they also make excellent pizzas. I can't thank the owner and staff enough, they are truly lovely people.

10/04/2026: We spent a night at the restaurant and came with our camper through AgriCamper. Honestly, we were very happy with both the food and the service. Since we were traveling with our two-and-a-half-year-old baby, we really appreciated that they served her first. Contrary to what some Americans have mentioned here, for us that was great, especially since we didn’t even ask for it. It was truly wonderful and one of the highlights of our experience. The service was consistently excellent, and the food was delicious, extremely delicious. I highly recommend the pasta, especially the seafood spaghetti. I enjoyed every single bite. Bravo to the chef. Another thing we loved and highly recommend is ordering a local digestive at the end of the meal. We found out it’s made by the father of the owner or manager, who only speaks Italian. It’s definitely worth trying after dinner. It’s a shame we couldn’t buy a bottle since they only have large ones for the restaurant, but it was incredibly good. 100% recommended.

Not suitable for those looking for local cuisine with typical dishes. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. A bit chaotic, not suitable for those looking for a quiet dinner.

10/04/2026: We ate at this osteria on the evening of April 4, 2026. The interior is very charming, and the outdoor tables (where we ate) are set along the village street, very charming. Traditional food served on pans. We discovered the "coccoli" and felt truly pampered by the staff. Highly recommended. Perfect value for money.

02/02/2026: A weekend of complete relaxation. The property is easy to reach by car and has nearby parking. The environment is meticulously maintained, even outside. The staff is welcoming and very helpful with any request. The hotel offers every comfort; we never left: there's a bar, bistro, and restaurant that offer excellent food, and a beautiful and very welcoming atmosphere. The pools are well-designed, and the water was just the right temperature. Since we were there on a Saturday night, we used the pools until midnight, and even though it was the end of January, it was wonderful. We also treated ourselves to a small massage, which I highly recommend. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Congratulations!

13/12/2025: Great place in Lucca for delicious, well-cooked fish, and excellent value! Friendly staff. The only downside is that if there's a lot of people, you'll need to be a little patient.

04/04/2026: It was a truly fantastic meal. The whole family was delighted with the quality of the food. The waiters were also very friendly and welcoming, explaining all the restaurant's specialties. The menu includes typical dishes not found elsewhere. The sweet and spicy wild boar was superb!! We highly recommend it!!!

02/04/2026: I was out with my girlfriend, riding my motorcycle, and we chose this place to eat because it was close to where we'd parked our bike. The place is very welcoming, with an old-fashioned style that fits in well with the town. The waiter was very kind in explaining the tavern's typical and unique dishes and wines, which are what we ordered, and we didn't regret it. Terrine as an appetizer, along with fried artichokes, followed by Etruscan-style pici and sweet and sour wild boar—unusual dishes that absolutely must be tried. If you're passing through Volterra, I recommend stopping by. Since it's a unique menu, it's a little more expensive than usual, but that's to be expected, and it's worth it.

06/04/2026: Stayed on Easter Eve at the campsite in a wooden house, clean, welcoming, equipped with a stove (which was useful, since it was still cold) wool blankets, had dinner at the Baroni inn, varied menu, value for money in line with the location

06/04/2026: Restaurant review: Lunch was very good, the staff were friendly, and the view was extremely relaxing. I recommend the Tuscan meats and the schiacciata toscana.

16/05/2026: A fantastic place! Anna gave us a super welcome even though there were six of us; a lovely atmosphere and FANTASTIC homemade food for the price of an appetizer in France…. If you're in Livorno, go there, but be aware it's not very big.

15/05/2026: Fantastic place and great food. We had parmigiana, gnocchi with orata, fish and octopus for the main corse was great. Few more analcoholic drinks except coke and fanta would be nice. 😀 ok water 😉 Cool bar and butcher shop is part of this concept.

Today at Ristorante Mecenate, we took a journey among the small producers who make this land great. 🍷✨ ​The beginning was poetic: Gnocchi allo Zola, but not just any Zola. A cheese made by Monica from Valgiano with the milk of a single, very special cow named Camilla. Knowing where what you eat comes from completely changes your perception of taste. ​We continued with pure tradition: homemade Tacconi with rabbit sauce, coarse and flavorful, exactly as they should be. ​The climax came with a platter of five raw milk cheeses. A mapping of the local pastures that brought together: ​The excellence of Monica Ferrucci from Valgiano; ​The character of Pierpaolo Piagneri from Filattiera; ​The wisdom of the Giorgi family from Castelvecchio di Compito; ​The purity of Il Caprile from Massa. ​To finish on a sweet note, a wafer with shepherd's ricotta and organic lime honey, accompanied by rosé wine from the Valle del Sole winery. A fresh, distinctive, and perfect pairing. 🌸🥂 ​Thanks to the Mecenate for once again being the ambassador of these small, great artisans of taste.
