02/12/2025: One of the best restaurants in Lucca, located right on the square opposite the theater. Modern Tuscan fusion cuisine with some great innovations. Everything was excellent, both the service and the food, although they should renovate the dining room and remove or replace the carpet.

05/11/2025: An excellent experience! The venue is charming and meticulously maintained, ideal for a special evening. The cuisine is top-notch: the rib-eye steak was simply delicious, and the pasta dish was also exquisite. The service was impeccable and professional, without a single flaw. Highly recommended! We'll be back soon to try the rest of the menu.

14/11/2025: Terrible experience. I'm a local and know the owner and his longtime employees well. I took an important client from Rapallo there for lunch (receipt no. 17 dated 11/14/2025, 2:21 PM). When it came time to offer us a limoncello, the owner's wife rudely said she'd decide whether to offer it or not. What hospitality! We left and I took my client to Bagno Fassoni, where they welcomed us like true gentlemen and offered us free limoncello.

02/12/2025: "A tasty haven among shadows and wonders" An overall positive experience, albeit with a few downsides. The prices aren't the friendliest, and the restaurant's great reputation risks being a bit over the top. To find a table, you need to be patient, pray a lot, or arrive way too early. The owner alternates between grumpy and less-than-welcoming tones, in keeping with the restaurant's name. Service is extremely slow and sparse, and the space is small, creating a very annoying reverberating effect, making it extremely loud. That said, the place is worth it. The cuisine is solid and authentic, and especially the octopus granfia appetizer is worth the visit: a gigantic portion, full and authentic flavor, and very simple preparation—oil, lemon, parsley—but masterfully executed. It's the restaurant's strong point and the main reason many return. In short: there are a few flaws in the overall experience, but the quality of the signature dish makes up for it. Recommended, especially for those who want to try one of the best octopus dishes in the area.

16/11/2025: I went for lunch (November 16th) with my family, we ate really well. The atmosphere was very nice and well-kept, the service was excellent, especially the girls serving us who were friendly and cheerful. Many thanks to all the staff at MANGIAFOCO, highly recommended and we will gladly return.

12/10/2025: Even though I live nearby, I've never been there before! We were a nice group of women, a round table, a soft atmosphere, and welcoming lighting. We ate well, and although we were in a hurry due to hunger, the sandwich also looked so inviting that we couldn't take photos! You have to try it to believe it!

12/11/2025: Old trattoria in Livorno, evidently historic, we had a caciucco, a fried fish and fried vegetables, the caciucco was very abundant and full of fish, perhaps a little too much tomato, but since I'm not an expert on caciucco it's probably like that, the fried fish was a little sparse, the fried vegetables were good. Average price, the place is quite old, the staff were courteous.

Excellent service and a warm welcome from Mr. Mauro, who creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for guests seeking a place reminiscent of the old days, where good service and good food combine to create the perfect mix for a pleasant stop. 28/09/2025: We paid 40 Euros for two really small portions of the worst lasagna I’ve ever eaten (probably a frozen one?), one small beer and one Aperol Spritz. We stopped here because it was one of the only open places and we were really hungry after a long hike, we didn’t expect anything fancy at all, just good local cuisine, but it really wasn’t worth it at all.
