L'Antica Taverna In Volterra

Absolutely fantastic! It was a pleasure to eat here in May 2026. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They also went the extra mile for our little daughter, which we greatly appreciated. There was a high chair available as well as a clean changing area, making us feel truly welcome as a family. The food was delicious, and the cozy location in the charming little street completed the experience perfectly. We will definitely be back here again!

A stunningly beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service is perfect. The food is fresh and truly prepared with love. The wines also pair wonderfully with it. I would almost not dare recommend it because I want to keep it to myself. A real 10 out of 10!

A great place with friendly, smiling, and helpful staff (we received detailed information about the dishes and wine we ordered). We ordered: tris di fritto (carciofi, fiori di zucca, salvia), tagliere di pecorini Volterrani, miele e pere, pici all'Etrusca, and pici ai porcini. All the dishes were fresh and delicious, and the restaurant's atmosphere was pleasant. Dinner was complemented by a good red wine, L'Assiolo Rigoli Toscana IGT 2022. A good place for a leisurely lunch or dinner while in Volterra.

We had a delicious meal at a nice, quiet Tuscan restaurant in the middle of Volterra. It is located on a street that is slightly wider than most of the smaller streets in Volterra, but it is still atmospheric. The service is friendly and speaks English, but speaking a little Italian is greatly appreciated. The waiter is happy to point out which dishes are 100% local. The pride is palpable! We ordered a spaghetti al ragu and a carbonara anyway, and they were exquisite. Wonderfully creamy and fresh. We actually came for a pizza, but we were told that the oven is normally lit at 4:00 PM. Otherwise, we would have had to wait 40 minutes, and we weren't really in the mood for that. Fortunately, that didn't matter, because the pastas were tasty! There is also a very delicious tiramisu on the menu, highly recommended. That, plus good, friendly service and being child-friendly, makes this a lovely restaurant.

FANTASTIC! First, the service: The waiter explains every single dish on the menu, also in English, and is always available for questions. Furthermore, the service is discreet and attentive. As for the food: The dishes are all delicious, and the value for money is more than fair. Don't miss the desserts! If you want to eat really well in Volterra, this is the place to go.

The sweet and spicy wild boar is truly amazing... I've never tried such a good dish in Tuscany!

I watched in amazement as the menu was explained in detail to the people on the terrace; I got the feeling that the food was spoken about with love here. The restaurant was immaculately neat and clean, and the staff beamed when my wife complimented them. The location of this restaurant is highly recommended—in every respect the most beautiful place to visit.

Friendly staff. Had a delicious meal and, also very important, it was very clean, and the toilets were clean too.

Super cozy little restaurant. We came here to eat and were also given an ex cathedra from the menu. The friendly waitress apparently took a marketing course, because she had no trouble convincing us to fill our glasses with Italian delicacies. "Amari" was there again here too. Chill guy.
