09/08/2025: My partner and I went to Kantunera in Ortigia while on vacation. The restaurant is well-maintained, intimate, and features typical Sicilian touches, with many references in the decor (for example, the dishes). We ate outside: despite the small space, we were still very comfortable and private. The dishes are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients (obviously, this is summertime). We had fish and pasta, both very good, and generous portions at fair prices. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, thanks in part to the staff's kind and attentive attitude. I don't know if it was the weather, but there was a bit of confusion in the service; our dishes (first courses) arrived in staggered fashion. However, I consider this to be a minor detail compared to the friendliness of the staff, which is why I give it a high rating! For a traditional dinner that's not too fancy or formal, this is a must-try!

01/08/2025: ✨It is an excellent place with good atmosphere, great music, nice posters and amazing food! It is a bit hidden, not very easy to find it. You acces it from a terrace and as far as I remember it has another nameplate not Banda bistro something like Bandita Coffe (but i am not sure). 🍔We ate a Kill-bill burger and a Veggie one with artichoke. I am a big fan of artichokes and i got a whole big one in my burger. What can i say they won me forever ❤️🔥 🌿Also they have several veggie options: burgers, wrap, tacos and some starter plates too. I can highly recommend. It seems like a busy place. We walked in with no reservations but maybe on a weekend evening it is recommended. 🍻Ah and i almost forgot the beer…🤤

15/08/2025: The cocktails are very good; we also had a chocolate cake, which was worth it. The atmosphere is quiet and the location is central but not chaotic.

16/07/2025: Excellent! Delicious sandwiches, super filling! You can customize the menu, and there's a wide selection of combinations. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best sandwich shops in the area.

15/08/2025: The desserts are AMAZING!!! I'm addicted to Sancassani mini cannoncini!!! But, I'm sorry, I can no longer tolerate the disorganization, slowness, and attitude of some of the staff. Their inability to "change pace" when necessary (the line often extends outside...) is...annoying. I repeat, I say this with regret and in the owners' best interests, as I find the pastries EXCEPTIONAL!

01/09/2025: The staff were very kind. The food was subpar, even considering the prices. The anchovy parmigiana was so good you could only taste the mozzarella. Calamari on a bed of potatoes and pesto... I didn't think the potatoes were there, and the pesto overpowered all the flavors. The fried calamari was undercooked and immediately cold. The focaccia was also undercooked. I'm sorry, it was a disappointment.

31/08/2025: The service is excellent, the guy is very kind and helpful, but the dishes aren't great. The fried food is modest, the sea bream is hospital-grade, served with unseasoned boiled potatoes, and the pasta with clams is overcooked and tasteless. 3 dishes, water, and 1 glass of wine: €89.

26/08/2025: The food was delicious, but not quite top-notch. The Daffy Duck was a bit dry. There was also relatively little sauce or puree. The fish was very tasty. The flavors were definitely perfect. The white wine was excellent. You don't mix white wine and Aperol at the table; it warms the wine. The Aperol was also just right. Both desserts were delicious.

12/08/2025: The food and preparation are certainly high quality. I'm limiting myself to 3 stars because, unfortunately, I think the bill is too high. The dishes are also in line with the times, but if you include only cover charge, water, and two glasses of wine, we're at €21. See the receipt. This isn't an isolated case; unfortunately, it's a general trend in Italy. The concept of a "real osteria" is dying out. What a shame.

11/08/2025: Provato spinti dalla buona reputazione del locale. Purtroppo la serata è stata una delusione. Il locale è carino e l’atmosfera piacevole, ma questo non basta a compensare il resto. Alcuni piatti erano passabili, altri davvero sotto tono, con porzioni ridotte e sapori poco convincenti per il prezzo richiesto. Per un posto con questa fama ci aspettavamo più costanza e cura. Il servizio è stato altalenante: personale gentile, ma senza la giusta attenzione nei momenti chiave. I tempi tra una portata e l’altra sono stati lunghi e non sempre giustificati. Rapporto qualità-prezzo deludente: il conto è alto rispetto a quello che si trova nel piatto. In sintesi, un locale con potenziale ma che non riesce a mantenere le promesse. Non credo torneremo.

20/08/2025: A fantastic restaurant, definitely a 5/5. We visited it five times during our few days in Riva, and each time was amazing. The food is delicious and there's a wide selection. The service is friendly, helpful, and most importantly, efficient. We highly recommend it!
