The sunset view from San Domenico is simply breathtaking—one of those views that makes you pause for a moment before ordering, because you realize you're looking at something rare. That alone would be worth the visit.
But the cuisine is no exception: the gnocchi with gurnard, snapper, strawberries, and chili pepper are an extraordinary dish—creativity, technique, and Calabrian terroir blend impeccably. Sweet, seafood, spicy. A balance few manage to achieve.
The service is top-notch, attentive, and never intrusive. Special mention to Maria Concetta, whose professionalism and warmth made the evening even more enjoyable—the kind of welcome that makes you feel like a guest, not a customer.
San Domenico plays in Serie A. One of the best restaurants on the Calabrian coast, without a doubt.

10/06/2026: I'm back and I'd like to give it top marks not only for the raw fish, the grilled fish, and the grilled vegetables, but also for the new dishes I tried, such as the seafood cured meats and honeycomb with a scoop of ice cream. The welcome was warm, and the service was very professional and impeccable.
A combination of elegant and rustic dining areas, both on the ground floor and upstairs, all elegantly set. The impeccable and professional service, starting with the welcome, deserves special mention. The dinner featured seafood dishes, where the freshness and quality of the ingredients predominated. The mixed hot, cold, and raw seafood appetizers, including shellfish, oysters, and tartare, were beautifully presented and exquisite. The mezzé paccheri with fish and shrimp were excellent, the grilled platter with tender swordfish, prawns, and squid was sensational, and the swordfish rolls with scamorza cheese were delicious. We enjoyed a delicate Critone Librandi white wine and concluded the meal with a platter of delicious desserts. The price was in line with the location and the exquisite dishes.
26/05/2026: A lovely rediscovery, excellent fish dishes. Next time I'll go to the gliglieria, the spaghetti alla corte d'assise is a wonderful must.

16/07/2026: After a year, I'm forced to update my review because the food isn't as good as it was a year ago! The rice isn't creamy, the baby octopus is practically in a broth, the pasta is completely disjointed, and the octopus is rubbery. It's a shame because we had a really great time last year.

We had a seafood platter, a salt-baked sea bass weighing about 1 kg, and a plate of raw seafood: truly exceptional. But I'd also like to praise the quality of the service and the staff, from the owner to the waiters. We'll be happy to return.
05/07/2026: Owner Mimmo delighted us again yesterday at lunch. A mini selection of appetizers, with a special mention for the cod, cuttlefish, and peas, and fried baby octopus. This was followed by mixed crudités with oysters, scampi, red shrimp, and tuna. Finally, squid ink spaghetti with calamari, seafood, pistachio grains, and lemon zest. Excellent service, with professional and welcoming waiters. The price was reasonable for the ingredients. I may be biased, but I insist on recommending it to true lovers of locally sourced seafood.

The fruit flavors are delicious, the super one being Crema Bergamotto with raspberry crumble, a new addition this year that combines the flavors of Calabria with the fresh taste of gelato! 06/12/2025: The day before yesterday, I celebrated my graduation at the Acquarium restaurant in Naples, and it was a wonderful experience. We ate wonderfully: high-quality dishes, perfectly cooked and impeccably presented by the young man who served us.
Both the chef Giorgio and the waiter were delightful, professional, and extremely kind. The waiter, in particular, stood out for the care with which he presented each dish, as well as for his truly rare courtesy and politeness.
I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a wonderful culinary experience accompanied by impeccable service.

04/07/2026: Traveling from Reggio Calabria to Locri, in the first days of July, and not finding any restaurant open for lunch, we happened upon "All' antica ricetta", a welcome with a big smile, a traditional place that makes you feel all the warmth of Calabria, dishes from truly ancient recipes, exquisite rabbit, spaghetti with seafood that leaves you speechless, very fresh vegetables, what can I say, highly recommended, thank you for your welcome🤗
