20/07/2025: We came to Scerni specifically to dine at this restaurant, recommended by a local friend. We made a simple reservation online on a weekday. We dined under a well-ventilated portico. We sampled many specialties: from cured meats and cheeses to traditional pasta, pizza, even mutton and dessert, all divinely cooked and with generous portions. The place is welcoming, the service is attentive and friendly, and the food is excellent. The price is absolutely fair. WORTHY RECOMMENDATION

30/09/2025: I organized a dinner for a large group almost at the last minute. I agreed with the very kind owner on a set menu. Normally, you expect the right amount from set menus, but the dinner turned out to be exceptional. The charcuterie and cheese platters were all excellent, huge, with lots of local cured meats, and beautiful to look at. The mixed focaccias were soft and delicious. And the arrosticini were amazing. The arrosticini are, in my opinion, the best I can remember. I've eaten them in ten, maybe fifteen different places, but these were truly exceptional. The desserts were excellent (someone said they had the best tiramisu ever). I tried both the pistachio and lemon cheesecakes, and I must say they were both excellent. The owners were extremely attentive and extremely kind, accommodating every request (we had a vegetarian in the group, and one person who didn't like arrosticini, who said the chicken arrosticini alternative was also excellent). The bill was truly excellent. What can I say? The 20 other people I was with and I highly recommend this restaurant. It's truly worth it. PS: I apologize for the photo... I was too busy eating... this is just to show that I was actually there ;)

06/10/2025: A memorable trattoria! The local first course, "vrache di mulo," is one of the tastiest and most flavorful meat-based first courses I've ever eaten. The menu is very varied, with something for everyone (including pizza), the prices are very fair, and the service is fast and courteous. Highly recommended!

Matteo is happy to share the recipe, but I already know they're as good as he makes them, impossible to replicate. I also recommend trying their stozze!

The owner welcomed us with his warmth and made us feel at home. If you happen to pass through Guardiagrele, you absolutely must stop by!!

30/09/2025: The food is good, and Alessio can recommend even the most discerning palates. Hot appetizers include excellent and very tender pecorino alla callara (sheep's bread), followed by a must-try onion platter, which is amazingly good, and the meat stew! The charcuterie board is usually found in other places. The arrosticini are good, but it lacked a bit of salt. The bill is okay. Good service, very friendly waiters, and the place is well-decorated. In the summer, they even have a veranda where you can eat outside. They also do takeout. Overall, it's good!

31/08/2025: Spectacular dinner... the mix of flavors each dish offered was unforgettable! We savored every bite to the very end, enjoying the perfect wine pairing (by the glass). The wine list was incredible! The venison tartare was one of the best things I've ever eaten... Incredible value (for the same price in Rome, you'd eat much worse at a "famous" restaurant). Highly recommended!

02/10/2025: Hubby found this hidden gem. Home cooked food selections and warm and friendly service. Hot and cold selections. We shared and enjoyed roast vegetable salad, ravioli, green beans, and egg/parmeasean balls in tom sauce (can't remember their name). Dad had a seafood salad, fish and tripe. My 85 year old italian dad (originally from Vasto) returning to Italy from Australia, last time 25 years ago, said it was the best tripe he has had. Even was convinced to try their tiramasu which was amazing, as were our own dessert selections. Thank you Paola for treating my Dad to your tripe. Xx

30/09/2025: A Corner of Home with Fabulous Food! This self-service restaurant is a true gem! As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped in a welcoming atmosphere that I'd describe as fairytale-like. But the most striking thing is the feeling of immediately feeling at home, like having lunch with your mother or aunts. The staff is incredibly kind and makes you feel pampered, contributing to a truly special experience. The food is excellent! I've been here several times and have always found a great variety, with the menu changing daily. This demonstrates admirable care and freshness. The first and second courses are exceptional, with authentic flavors and generous portions. The desserts also deserve praise: not only are they delicious, but they're also beautiful to look at, a real pleasure to finish on a sweet note. For a good lunch that combines quality, variety, and family warmth, this is the place to be! Highly recommended!

27/09/2025: I took some friends to see the Rocca at sunset, making sure the bar was still open at 7:30 PM. After receiving the requested reassurance, we were able to enjoy the owner's hospitality and welcome. Sandwiches were freshly prepared and filled with the best local products. The perfect happy ending after the beautiful sunset over the Rocca. I stop there every time I go to Calascio to enjoy at least one sandwich. I recommend it only if you're not too concerned with the form but rather with the substance. Lastly... my friends were very happy, especially because from the outside the bar didn't seem very promising. They were right to trust me, and to this day they thank me for the wonderful afternoon we spent together, especially for the fun and games part. 😂🤪
